  1. I have to imagine that one of the TFA stormtroopers in the SCG (there are quite a few of them) has an extra F-11D they could lend you, especially if you already have the rest of the costume in a wearable state. Other than that, if you really need it quickly then I suggest you print and assemble your own using a local 3D printing service and T5H's free files.
  2. It really depends. Anovos has been all over the place with their delivery timelines.
  3. I just measured my Anovos standard (plastic) First Order stormtrooper helmet - which is more accurate than the premium fiberglass helmet (which I also have). Measurements are as follows: Length: approximately 33cm Width: approximately 28cm Height: approximately 29cm
  4. Finally, an interior shot of my mitcheg lid. I finished it out with a set of ACH pads and Echo's fan kit. Fits nice and snug like a full-face motorcycle helmet, and has plenty of airflow.
  5. More comparison photos - mitcheg vs Anovos premier (fiberglass). Again, Anovos is on the right. Note the cracked fiberglass in the rear undercut and the separating left cheek that is all but universal to every single one of the original Alpha 75 ANOVOS helmets.
  6. Comparison photos: mitcheg vs Anovos standard (plastic) - Anovos is on the right:
  7. I finally finished up my mitcheg (v1) resin helmet and trooped it for the first time last weekend at AwesomeCon. It's got the increased accuracy of the Anovos plastic helmet (including the missing undercut) combined with the solid feel of the Anovos fiberglass helmet. I'm not thrilled with my paint job (it's hard to hand paint straight lines), but overall I'm satisfied enough to make it my primary trooping helmet. First photo is with the mitcheg, second photo is with the Anovos "Premium" fiberglass. Of the three, the mitcheg will become my day-to-day trooping lid when I'm not trooping my OT TK. The plastic Anovos lid will get a bloody handprint and be worn for the occasions I want to troop as FN-2187. The fiberglass helmet will become a backup and/or display lid.
  8. I'm wondering about the gaskets myself. Since they are supposed to be latex (and stretchy as a result), one size fits all makes more sense. But I would hope that there is still the ability to do some tailoring, as the arm and leg sizes of different people vary. I took my kit to an automotive paint shop. But whether or not these publicly-available FO TK kits will require painting is still IMO an open question. Anovos claims that they are simplified (in terms of building) based on the lessons learned from the Marketing kits that went exclusively to 501st members. As far as the helmet defect goes, I'm not sure there is much you can do to correct it. Using a heat gun on it carries far more risk of just making the problem worse.
  9. Yes, HFx does indeed make an ESB version - I have one myself.
  10. If we are talking about as seen on screen, definitely Stunt - followed by ESB and Hero last. As I recall, there were about 50-60 ANH Stunt suits made. Of which, only a dozen or so survived filming and were subsequently refurbished and repurposed as ESB troopers. I also recall only 6 ANH Hero helmets having been made, and other than on Luke and Han the only place I recall seeing a Hero helmet is when Leia is being marched to see Vader during the Tantive IV raid. For more insight, look here: http://www.starwarshelmets.com As for Legion troopers, that information is available at Legion. But yes, ANH stunt is far more common than ESB, which itself is more common than ANH Hero.
  11. I use E6000 on nearly everything armor-related, and I often use enough to so that the entire surface is glued down. I've never had a problem cleaning up any excess that comes out from under the cover strips. I simply use something like a credit card or a flat-blade screwdriver to separate the excess at the cover strip, then roll and/or peel it off with my finger tip. Comes off clean with no residue. I'm especially wary of using CA glue, especially the thin kind like Zap A Gap. It sets quickly, but that in and of itself can be a double-edged sword. Inn addition, if the CA glue runs and goes somewhere it isn't supposed to, you've instantly damaged the finish of your armor. Like I said above, if E6000 goes somewhere it shouldn't, you simply rub it off and it leaves behind no markings.
  12. Looks like this is your first post - welcome. Obvious question - have you signed onto the UKG forums?

    Armor ID

Lots of time looking at and discussing this stuff. Screen captures, behind the scenes footage, screen-used suits out on display, etc. Just like with anything else, the more you immerse yourself in it, the more you'll start to notice small details. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Regarding the new gaskets: http://www.anovos.com/blogs/news/45931649-faqs-for-the-star-wars-first-order-stormtrooper According to the FAQs ... Based upon feedback and testing with our 2015 prototype armor, many pieces of the First Order armor kit were re-engineered for easier assembly. Produced in the USA, the Premier Line armor kit includes upgrades such as a rotocast rigid foam-filled two-piece detonator, single-piece backplate, improved chest detail via negative-drawn vacuum forming, new forearms and shins, and all new latex gaskets. The updated leather gloves and new boots are sourced from the original manufacturers which produced the screen-used pieces. In combination with the Premier Line First Order Stormtrooper helmet, we are able to provide a complete costume head to toe for the very first time. Wyatt ... are you listening? Because apparently ANOVOS is.
  15. Links are back up and it looks like they are open for preorders.
  16. So ... now we know. $2,225 in kit form, $6,915 for the assembled suit. Taxes and shipping are likely not included in that price. http://www.anovos.com/products/star-wars-the-force-awakens-first-order-stormtrooper-kit-with-helmet-pre-order http://www.anovos.com/collections/star-wars/products/star-wars-the-force-awakens-first-order-stormtrooper-completed-premier-armor-with-helmet-and-boots-pre-order
  17. You can also have the armor shipped to your hotel ahead of time, and carry the helmet with you as part of your carry on luggage.
  18. Nice! Can't wait to see the first fully-completed Flametrooper costume! What are you doing for the flamethrower / backpack?
  19. The biggest highlight by far is being surrounded by thousands of fellow fans and hundreds of fellow Legion members, while being completely immersed in all things Star Wars for four full days. This year's VIP tickets will set you back $700 per ticket. If you want one, you'd better be sitting in front of your computer with the webpage up and your credit card at the ready the moment that sales open. Despite the cost, they are usually gone very quickly - as in within an hour or so.
  20. Much easier to tell. Yes, they look correct the way you have them assembled. "B" is your left shin, and "A" is your right.
  21. As I sit here staring at the photo (and going cross-eyed in the process), you may indeed have it assembled correctly. But it would be easier to tell with a photo from the rear. The real test is the way they feel on you while wearing them. If you've tried it both ways and the way you have them feels more natural, then you've got them assembled correctly.
  22. Despite what the Anovos-supplied instructions and numbering scheme says, it looks like you have the halves improperly matched. It's easier to tell by looking at the shins from the back view. Once you fix that problem, the "curvier" side should go on the inside of your shin to match the more pronounced curve of your inner calf muscle.
