  1. For the end of the RT MOD belt I would cut out the bumps, shave about 3 inches off the ends to give it a more screen accurate length then reglue the covers next to the last box on the belt ends. This way you will only need one snap in the middle to be glued where you can't cut that one out.
  2. Yeah, at this point in the game, getting a suit under 1K (just the suit, not the accessories) delivered in time to build it just won't happen. Maybe you can buy a pre built suit, but they are pretty rare. You would have to have it shipped today or tomorrow and work nonstop on it once it arrives. Hey, don't let us discourage you, if you can get bumped up on the waiting list (most makers have a long waiting list) get it shipped and in hand, depending on how handy you are, you could potentially get it build before Halloween. It's all down to how crafty, prepared and how much time you have to put into it.
  3. The new proposals don't seem that hard to overcome, why would the new requirements make it not possible for you to get centurion in your RT-Mod?
  4. Hiii, requesting 501st member status! http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=14985 Thanks, Derrek
  5. Please point us to the centurions who passed with misplaced thigh rivets, I personally can't believe it. This is one of the things Mathias looks at first I think. There may have been threads that had misplaced thigh packs, but they were told to fix it in a later post and had to post a new photo showing it was fixed. Maybe the photo wasn't updated in post 1 but it was in later posts.
  6. There is no need to find LFA photos, Mathias posted one for you. These suits are positioned correctly, As stated before, 8mm head is preferred as that seems to be the size that was used on screen. You can use split rivets or cap rivets. Basically the shaft of the rivet looks be be positioned approximately 10-12mm from each edge.
  7. Mike, great armor choice. Go to the ANH build threads section. The first post there is DarthAloha's RT-Mod build thread, it's a great one to start with, there are several others out there as well, so just start searching rt-mod in the build section and you'll get everything you need. Rt-Mod is an easy one to push to centurion if you want.
  8. Good deal! I"m looking at the same deal now... Original strapping brackets ordered as well!
  9. Not 501st approved and a crazy looking helmet with a rivet in the back. It's 2.5mm ABS which means you could probably beat the living hell out of it and it wouldn't break. It looks like a mix of a FX recast and a rubies or something. I'm not really 100% on all the makes, but it looks kind of cheesy to me. If you want a halloween costume on the cheap, this wouldn't be a bad buy, but if you're looking to join the 501st and get into costuming an replicating the look of the movies, this is not for you.
  10. Hows the progress? Been a few days now, and you're sooo close!
  11. I'm pretty sure I will sell this suit to make space for my RT-Mod which is due to be pulled in the next few weeks. Pretty much everything you see in the photos, no boots, no gloves, no undersuit, no neckseal. Everything else will be included. Oh, the trim for the helmet is included as well.. I just forgot to put it on the these photos.... doh Don't worry that the suit looks a bit small, it's a full sized suit, I'm just an extra full length person. Lots of room to trim and shim as required to fit someone else.
  12. Skipped a lot of stuff, and straight to the completed suit. The FX bucket I did finish and hand paint, sits in my office, my kid loves to goof around with it. I ended up having to replace the belt, and the helmet. I went with ATA and hand painted the helmet. So FX does fit someone who is 6'6", some of the gaps are on the edge, but overall I think it looks pretty good. My only problem is the size of calves, they just aren't big enough, shims required!
  13. I think the paint is to bright, the pictures I've seen the armor is much more gunmetal vs silver. Did you want to make is brighter for a particular reason?
  14. Followed! I'm gearing up to buy Mynocks #4 or #5 mask, so will be following you to see how it goes and take some queues from a vet like you. I like the republic jedi armor from starwarssurplus, but I think I would get about half the pieces as some of them don't really match the photos I've seen. I'm sure that variation is ok though, since the Sith Acolytes are all unique, there is no way to pigeon hole the armor as exactly this and exactly that, unless you want to copy the photo precisely. Masks are different and unique, I imagine the armor will be as well.
  15. I haven't' measured the gap but it isn't more then 15-20cm. I think my best bet is to do the over/under to get a seal. Thanks to everyone for chipping in and for the photographic evidence to support the fix.
  16. Well, the affordable part we shall see! I'm sure paul will make it affordable though. Great job on all of the pieces, looks like you are pretty close to having a suit for sale!
  17. So I'm looking at an issue for my calves, they won't close. I see that ideally they aren't sealed in the back anyways but rather connected via a hook and elastic like in the Tantive raid. Can I be approved with calves that don't seal in the back? What about EIB? Should I shim to close them for approvals?
  18. I sell Leather Holsters for your E-11, follow my signature link for details.
  19. If you have pin holes you should fill them with something then let it dry and get a new primer again. The blob should be removed.as well.
  20. But, great progress! Will you be making a mold without a chin, and make the chin as a separate item, or going to add it in later?
