  1. What will you use for your neck length? Will you make Hero ones once your stunt is completed and you have the process down?
  2. I love baklava... I'm in Jordan right now, gonna have to buy some! In the real side of the discussion, I considered buying one for this, but hesitated because I figure the helmet is already hot enough to need fans, should I be putting a sock over my head to hasten the passing of out... I know sweat can be an issue, and I saw someone with a sweat band on in some pictures here, so I thought that might be a great idea.
  3. I knew that with an armor set put together so well they had to be in there, just wasn't seeing them, but proven for fact now!
  4. Awesome job! I'm sure an easy pass. One question, I don't see any elastic around the biceps from the shoulder bells, am I just not seeing them based on the location of the biceps in the photos?
  5. Eric, have you asked Rob recently about the Green ANH Hero lenses? In my conversations in the last weeks, he mentioned about his green bubble lenses not working out right and tha tI should try and source them on my own. Has this changed? I've been waiting on John Danter to get his V2 lenses but he is MIA and my suit date is coming up fast. I"m looking forward to the interior kit, but he isn't sure when he will have it ready. My kit should be done somewhere at the end of September, so I"m hoping that he will have these ready by then, but most likely I will have to wait on it.
  6. The scope rail connects via a pressure tab in that very first barrel vent hold just before your t-tracks. It just slides in there, bend the front of the rail at such an angle that it won't slide out and use a dab of CA glue if you like as well.
  7. Tony, for ANH/ESB there are a separate kidney and butt, for ROTJ and any suit derived from this suit it is a single kidney/butt. This thread I was talking about a TKC, which is derived from a mix of ANH, but mostly the ROTJ suits (As far as I"m aware).
  8. Nothing wrong with being a Rancid fan, they kick an impolite person.
  9. The CRL for TKC says there should be no tab for level 2 acceptance. Shoulder straps shall not have a flat end at the ends of them. They shall be ribbed 100%. That is the style you see in my photo above. The CRL for ANH Stunt/Hero however do not say anything about the tab on the end. I will just submit as is, and will find out when I find out.
  10. Yeah, understood, I'm obviously a bit excited, but hey, who can blame me!
  11. I would go with the kit, build it is a process and when you're done, you have a huge sense of accomplishment and you can wield it with pride, knowing that you built the stuff you are trooping in.
  12. Hi Patrick, I have indeed gotten in touch with the Dan and Obi and in turn the GMO. Once I finish my suit I am armed with all the knowledge right now to start submission. Thanks all!
  13. Looking forward to it. I"d be putting it into an RT mod, so hoping (but pretty sure) I can get it to fit in
  14. Will do, thanks!
  15. I don't really want to cut them. I cut for the TKC armor kit, but I"m not sure I want to do that any more. But I'm thinking I will go ahead with TKC anyways, since I've cut my tabs off plus I"ve got the smaller cloth belt for the TKC already and don't feel like wasting money.
  16. I have registered at the forums there but am waiting on an admin to approve it.
  17. Yes, this is where I went to the http://www.501st.de/kontakt.php and put in a message to the GMO, but haven't heard back. I was wondering if there was a better way to contact them. Should I go directly into the forums vs the home page contact?
  18. So I sent an email to the GMO for the German 501st trying to start the dialogue to join (contact formula with topic selection of the GMO) but haven't heard back, does anyone from the German garrisons have some contacts I might get in touch with to follow up? Thanks! Derrek
  19. I understand they aren't as they should be with the lack of a tab at the end. I am hoping they will pass 501st and I can replace them before I go for EIB/cent
  20. I was going to make a TKC, but decided to end with a normal TK stunt, but I already cut my shoulder straps to match TKC specs. Reading the CRL, it doesn't say anything about the form of them, so I was hoping I wouldn't need to buy another set of shoulder straps...
  21. I think if someone puts their suit up and says here it is, what do you think (most people do this) it's left open for people to post about it. I only ever hit on the obvious things, biceps to high, no strap between bicep and forearm, sniper plate wrong leg or under the thigh and so on. Not things that are nitpicky, but things that make this the place to be to get your armor right. I thought most people were the same.
  22. White rubber guards ordered
  23. I really just got hung up on the 'painted' part I know how tricky wording can be, especially when speaking to level 3 certification. I didn't want to get ones that were white in the manufacturing process, then have to paint over top of them just to fulfill the painted portion.
  24. I think new recruits need a little push towards that end. I know I did. Not saying they are crap, (haven't personally seen it happen), but tips on how to upgrade this and that, make things a little more authentic.
  25. Jokes were to lighten the mood. I feel there are a lot of people here doing exactly the thing you bring up. Being helpful, non-confrontational and nice in helping others with their suits and getting setup. As a new member, I think this community works well, it's constructive and friendly, even to the stupidest of my questions. The only person I've seen be confrontational, aggressive and rude has been you. Mellow out, we're all on the same page. I think everyone agrees with your point. We will all have different ways to implement it. there is no way to force a community to be nice or mean, it just works that way based on the group dynamic.
