  1. The USPS does get some taxpayer support. Around $96 million is budgeted annually by Congress for the "Postal Service Fund." These funds are used to compensate USPS for postage-free mailing for all legally blind persons and for mail-in election ballots sent from US citizens living overseas. A portion of the funds also pays USPS for providing address information to state and local child support enforcement agencies. Somehow I think the 96 million is a little much. That is just what I found as reported income from the government, unreported... I have no idea. 2011 they lost 5.1 billion dollars, 2012 15.9 billion. There has to be some government funding somewhere to keep them from going under with losses of this proportion.
  2. So off topic here. JoeR and SSkunky, you two are the team behind the CFO armors, or how does it work between the two of you?

    Opinions?

PM to SSkunky on the forums for details of his CFO ROTJ suits.

    Opinions?

Looks like an ROTJ costume, and for that price I would seriously reconsider. If you want ROTJ armor, you can get one from CFO for around the same and you will have an amazingly accurate suit vs that one which has probloems on the armor, the shoulders, the helmet and so on. You will spend more on that armor trying to get legion acceptance then you want to consider.
  5. It is no wonder the USPS is going out of business. They would have been dead and buried long ago if it wasn't for the fact they are a government agency funded by our taxpayers dollars.
  6. I really appreciate the comments input so far. I have modified the original post to be much more encompassing, as I am seeing a lot of data that I can crunch to determine fit ranges of different suits. All data is entirely optional, give as little or as much as you want, you can PM me as well. I think this will be a great data call to help the community decide which set of armor to get. We spend a good chunk of change on these suits and the worst is to buy one and find out it won't really fit your frame. Thanks! Derrek
  7. The odd thing is that 80085 was not available and no one has it.... I think they took a few numbers out at the top level. Imperial reservations or something. I will be fixing the tears on the lid in a few days, slimming the lines, but I don't think that should stop a centurion award. At least I hope it doesn't.
  8. Thanks all! Vern - Noted, I will be moving those out some, thanks for the heads up.
  9. I didn't even think it of, but what would also be great to get is a waist size. (Thanks Darth Aloha for reminding me). The reason I am looking for this information is to try and start generating an additional piece for the suits and sizes post speaking to each suit maker the range of sizes that have successfully fit into the armor. To help give people a better layout of what they can expect and what armor they can fit into. Thanks!

I imagine based on the EIB submission, you expected to see this one following directly after. Also waiting on a new garter from Vader Dave, since this one is not my finest crafting work. So the snap showing and worn out elastic will be gone soon. Forgot to take a picture of the neck seal bib in this photo session, so using one I took a little bit back. You can see the ribs on my seal in earlier photos but this is the only one where you can actually see the full bib included.
  11. I wonder how I could go about cleaning up those stripes. Would I have to paint thinner the entire tear, or do you think I might be able to chip it away with a toothpick? I guess an alternative as well is to just clean the black with another layer of grey...?
  12. So I'm wondering the height of TK's and which armor you are using. I'm looking for the following information to create an information and sizing post on different armor makers. Armor Manufacture: Height: Weight: Waist Size: Hip size: Calves: Thighs: Forearms: Biceps: Numbers can be in US standard or metric, I will convert them if needed and do the final reports in both units of measurement. The above information will allow me to generate a good range of sizes that will fit into a given armor manufacture. I know it is a lot of information and a bit of a pain in the tail to get, but any help would be much appreciated, it's all to give back to the community. If you aren't comfortable with publishing to the entire community, please feel free to PM me so I can add the numbers to my notes on each manufacturer. also if you have any questions on where to measure for a proper reading, let me know. Measurements can be bare skin or with your undersuit on, but please, no normal clothes as it will skew the numbers due to baggyness of clothes. Stats for dday Armor Manufacture: TM (XL shins) Height: 77in Weight: 230lbs Waist Size: 35.5in Hip size: 37.5in Calves: 16.2in Thighs: 24.5in Forearms: 12.5in Biceps: 14.5in
  13. I'm not sure, but I think I can lay to claim as the tallest trooper in a TM suit. Can that be a kudo's for me in my profile? Hah!

  15. I think there has to be some edge of acceptance there already for the FORCE to work. My wife just isn't into SciFi, or Fantasy or any of that, so I would get nowhere. The force is not strong enough in me I think.
  16. They have to be done after boots and leg are in. Since the hooks face inwards, you just simply pull the inner edge (where the hooks/straps are) up a bit and pull it over and the hooks (if aligned right) will almost fall into the holes as you set the edge down. It is really very painless to do and easy, even with very little room in the calves. The best part if you are using covers in the back is the cover is 25mm in the back, so you have more room for a gap.
  17. Hopefully not with your helmet on.... Driving, texting, emailing, foruming, with a helmet on and smoking... I think the vast majority of people have 0 ear padding. Top, and side padding, but nothing over the ears.
  18. So, when does the mass production on these begin?! If you didn't love this project a lot I"m sure you would never have been this far. Amazing job you are doing!
  19. You should have 0 return edge on the bottom, so it sits flush with the leg
  20. I've decided I will need this in my Vader helmet too... I'm sure it's even harder to hear inside the fiberglass then standard ABS...
  21. You can PM Marv on this forum. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16395-t-track/ Is his link where he sells them
  22. Driving with a helmet on is probably dangerous!
  23. Dday

    WTH Eric!

    Haha, good one.
  24. You will find almost anyone can be fit into a storm trooper armor.
  25. The linked seal seems to be the best and super accurate bib attached. The price is pretty high, but from the people who have bought it, they rave about it. Darman also makes them. You can PM him here on FISD, and his are half the price. I have a Darman and it works just like it should. Just make sure you tell him you want a Hero with a big bib.
