  1. Much better, just finishes off the look, well done for taking the advice
  2. You are allowed a different amount of stripes on the sides so you should be ok. Depending on which level of trooper you aim for you may have to change the colour later, the TB and French blue are the desired colours. Well done on the paint comparison. BTW the stripes could have come up a bit slightly but should be fine for approval.
  3. Sounds like a good idea, not sure if I can post the full size picture, I think it may be over the maximum posting size and will be reduce will give it a try, I will also post the link to the image here This is for TK Boots size 10. Before I ordered them I did a bit of research and found a conversion table, I take AUS size 9 and the conversion was US size 10, these are a little big but as they do not come in 1/2 sizes I think the US 9 would have been too small.
  4. Still on the long learing curve, sometimes the most obvious can be invisible to the untrained eye
  5. Well really that too, doesn't look nice
  6. The height of the canvas belt, normally I see the canvas a little narrower than the plaster section, also it is too long, too much excess material hanging.
  7. My wait for ATA was 18 weeks at first then I think at the end it blew out to 21 weeks. I purchased the helmet first which was a nice way to start, then went about purchasing everything I needed for the armor build. Made a few blasters, belts, neck seals, there is a lot to keep you busy. ATA has had a lot of interest since I ordered mine and is becoming quite popular hence the long wait. Good luck what you decide
  8. Very nice work and photo's, this should help people in the future, I can see another how to coming up soon Keep up the good work you are going great
  9. Crooked sniper plate does seem a common problem with the AP armor from what I have read, with that being said, the front of your sniper plate does look really crooked and if it was me I would remove it and try again, heat is your friend with stubborn armor. From the rear shot it does look like you could have come up more on that side. I would clamp the rear pieces then apply some heat around the front edges and apply some force to pull the front more to the right. If at first you don't succeed try and try again (very carefully)
  10. I found with my small frame that my sides of my armor kept wanting to pop out, even with strapping and a very tight belt. I came up with this fix, working well for me so far so I thought I would share it will you all. Fisrt found a few scraps of ABS, in my case these where 30mm x 40mm, but you can use any size you want. I then gave them a small bend so they would follow the inside of the sides. Roughed both surfaces with some coarse sandpaper and applied glue and clamps. I used two on each side, top and bottom. Here we are finished and the sides stay where they should. I may just paint the outside of the ABS black just in case you can see the pieces when I move
  11. LOL Well the chips where random so what looks like a pimple to you looks just like a chip to me
  12. A little heat may be needed, brute force can sometimes make them split around the rivet a little down the track
  13. Good call, doesn't hurt to use a little foam, never know you may endulge a bit more next christmas and need the room LOL Keep up the good work
  14. In the getting started section http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/1695-do-not-post-where-do-i-buy-armor-threads/ you may wish to read this. Also private messaging can be usefull at times
  15. Really happy with my ATA I am 6 foot and 152lbs and take 30 jeans (sorry no US conversion lol) I built with only small cover strips and a fair bit of trimming, could have gone more but wanted to leave some room in case I added any weight down the track. Good luck what you decide.
  16. Looking good there, just a couple of things I would change. Your holster seems a bit too far back and the straps are attached too far up on the belt. Need a shot of the D ring on the back of blaster. Thighs could come up a bit more. Knee ammo belt needs to come down lower. Backs on the drop boxes could do to be changed, they need inner boxes not just flat pieces of abs (but I think this is only for Centurion) and should use elastic for the straps. Clips on the TD should be metal, no paint on them. Should use a split rivet not a snap on front of cod. Canvas belt looks to be a little wide. Could do with a few more detail pictures of the side rivets. Helmet is painted well but there are a couple of the black outer lines which are a bit too wide. Just my views so don't painic, wait and see what the DO says. Good luck on approval, a few tweaks and you should be there
  17. LOL the E6000 is nearly bigger than the chest plate. I'm sure a hasbro will look just fine
  18. Congrats on the first EIB of 2013. Only 4 more to go
  19. Congrats on that too, two milestones this year, what's next
  20. It's like I've been cloned only 1/3 sized , looking good keep up the nice work. Can't wait to see a mini E-11 LOL
  21. Well done and welcome to the ranks, was a long wait but worth it for first Centurion for 2013, congrats
  22. Well done trooper, was worth the wait and first EIB for 2013. A little extra work for Centurion will be worth while in the end
  23. Thanks for the info, at least in the description it says it is a fan made prop, so hopefully that should warn people away
  24. No probs I have: Ab 47cm The edge on the kidney that butts against the butt plate is about 58 but my kidney goes past the butt plate by 2 cm on each side I did find that the top of my kidney plate is 55cm, I found it fitted better this way. I think you must be heavier boned than me lol, by the weight and height I should have the same need of padding as you. I could do with a little padding, I didn't want to trim too much off my armor at first, but I did notice my sides popping out a lot so I made some angle shims behind the sides top and bottom that helped to keep the sides in and not wanting to flair out. I think like most armor makers you just have to make it fit your frame. Think I would try a bit of padding first before removing too much of the sides
  25. Looking good my ATA lid was the same on the right side, did a bit of repositioning and still wasnt happy but I did find that the bottom of the ear covers most of the bottom section and was you have the S trim on aswell then you can't see any gap
