  1. It is attached to the centre of the ridge in the top corner of the ammo belt. AP belts do sit crooked and that is aceptable, some choose to use a little heat to straighten them. Couple pics below of Jeremy's AP build.
  2. Very nice, should last a while longer
  3. Wow that's a bit cool, look forward to the build
  4. I had things pointed out to me before, during and after my build it is how we learn, then it is our responsibility to pass on our knowledge to the next person. Don't get me wrong I would like everything printed in black and white but the question is would it have been as rewarding, to me no. As I had found out if you don't know something then research if you still can't find it then ask and best of all if you want the right answer then ask the DO directly,
  5. There are quite a few things in the CRL which aren't completely accurate, but these things are and do get pointed out to people on their build journey, ie: like the belt if you trim the corners of the front plastic section correctly you would see that you end up with approx 75mm between the corners which should be the width of the belt, looks weird if your belt is bigger than the front plastic piece. The arguement is yes it would be easier to list all of the exact measurements and requirements but building your armor is a learning curve and I think that like putting in the extra work for EIB and centruion, learning all of these exact little quirks although annoying can be rewarding in the end, you know how hard it was to get there but it was well worth it in the end. On a side note some are building to requirements that are not even in the CRL for EIB and Centruion, it all boils down to research and how far you are prepared to go on your building journey.
  6. I have seen different colour rivets available at hardware stores but I am sure a painted one is going to work fine Looking good, some hard work but worth it in the end.
  7. Looking good, creepys small handed man lol
  8. Looks similar to seat belt material
  9. Looking good. I used a drill press and one of these stepped drill bits I tried first using drill bits starting small and going up in size but the bigger you go the more they want to grab and bite into the pvc. These stepped drill bits are great.
  10. Where did you find that info, have you checked this http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8117-helmet-ab-paint-detail-reference-guide/
  11. LOL maybe sandy's should convert their backpacks into vacum cleaners
  12. Wow I do like these arduino mods, very nice work
  13. Every little bit adds up in the end, looking good, we all play around with the strapping just to get everything sitting right. Keep up the good work
  14. I have only a small piece of padding in the top of my lid, they are a snug fit, have to put it on sideways then turn. Most ATA guys trim a little more off the bottom edge just for a little extra room.
  15. Nice job on the edging looking good, keep up the great work
  16. Looking good, slow but sure wins the race, enjoy and keep up the good work
  17. What colour blue did you use for your tube stripes, it looks pretty light
  18. I think you will find that the problem is the paint will bee too thin to give a proper buffing too, on cars you rub down first with a 1200 grit sandpaper wet (some use ultra fine) then you use a buffing machine and compound polish, once this is done you use a final fill n glaze polish. That's us how you get the deep shine, the problem is that the sanding and buffing removes paint so if its not thick enough then you rub through to the base. Maybe even try bees wax or clear shoe polish, may be worth a try.
  19. Check the gaps on your arms you may want to adjust around the elbows, your forearms seem to low down, before posting some more photo's correctly
  20. Very nice indeed, you could have taken just a little more out of the top of the eyes there is a slight ridge there. Good work keep it up
  21. You can try an auto polish but just don't rub too hard you may find that you polish through the painted surface and down to the base.
  22. Looking great with a few purchased extra's you should be able to aim for EIB or centurion. Keep up the good work, you will be trooping in no time
  23. Ahhhhhhh the endless wait and the stalk of the mail man, hope you get the big brown box soon, the excitement, the panic, the frustration, the relief, so many emotions you endure along your amor journey, good luck with the build we are here if you need help
  24. Some of the cheap kids costumes has nice thin shinny material, I have made a neck seal out of it. You are doing a nice job keep up the great work
