  1. Some pics on the progress. Pretty happy with how the holster turned out, didn't find the type of leather that I wanted but I hope this is good enough. I'm waiting to put on the female snap on the strap until I know how the blaster will fit. I've also painted the ab-buttons. The blue was alot brighter than I thought. The other blue shades I've tried was way too dark so I couldn't see any difference on those and the black ones.. Do I need to find a darker shade of blue? I've replaced the wider elastics with 6mm elastics and I've put it higher up on the bells. Also some padding have been put in. The armor-pack on the right thigh have been put on correct. I'm working on the shoulder straps right now, Have one of them repainted while the other one have some abs-paste that need to dry first. That's it for now!
  2. I've modified Troopermaster's ANH holster-design to work as an ROTJ-holster-design. Mainly for myself but I guess it might help someone else also. I converted the inches to millimeter for those too lazy to do it themselves..
  3. True that! But if you wanna join the 501:st you need a holster even of your'e a ROTJ even if som in the movie doesn't. It seemed to be a bit 'wear whatever make the scene work'
  4. What I've read (might be a myth) that's that death star-troopers have holsters, TD's and white soles when endor-troopers (stunt) don't always have holsters or TD's and some have black soles.
  5. Well yeah I know the Rubies isn't considered as a good armor but just because the armor can't be top notch doesn't matter that the assecories have to be as low quality. Besides I guess it have been and will be more people searching for how to make an ROTJ-holster, just wanted to know since I couldn't find any threads or facts about it.
  6. I take that in the way that the holster isn't that big of a deal as long as it is close enough?
  7. Ok thanks, and the design same as the ANH-design that's around? I guess there was different kinds of holster in ANH also but I've just found one design.
  8. Have been searching around for a ROTJ-holster design, without luck tho. Only ANH-designs. So my question is, is the ROTJ-design the same as the ANH except for the longer straps in black leather instead of dyed?
  9. Then painting it is.. Haven't found any in the normal hardware-stores anyway.
  10. Yeah your'e right! Those guys at the Rubies-factory must have been drunk.. ^^ Thanks for pointing that out, haven't noticed it myself. Hey Locitus do you know of any good place to buy white rivets? Also I forgot a thing to fix: - Padding in shoulder-bells.
  11. Here's som new pics in the armor. Now the white striping is on and I've shaped the ab-, butt- and crotch-piece to fit better. It seems to fit better between butt- and ab-piece now but I wouldn't call it perfect yet.. (Ooooo evil eye! ) The butt- and back-piece fit much better together now since I put elastic straps between chest and back-piece. A bit crooked on the picture since I'm raising my arm. Btw the shoulder-straps are just put on to complete the armor, they need to be adjusted and maybe repainted because of some sanding that took out the color underneath which was beige. They will be velcroed to the back later on. And of course it was about time to get my new helmet from CFO into the picture also! Looks to be a bit difference in color. It might look different in normal light but I guess that CFO and Rubies doesn't match perfectly.. :/ Rock n' roll-trooper! Some of the things I know that need to be fixed are: - Replace shoes. In progress. - Get neckseal. Have to order one since I can't get my hands on that weird fabric. - Holster. Gonna check out where I can get my hands on some leather and try making one myself, would be fun. - Blaster. Any good sets to buy and assemble? Any tips on what's good? Haven't started searching for that yet. - Got a pair of rubber-gloves to replace the Rubies-ones. - Take apart the biceps from the shoulder bells and replace the elastics in the bell for smaller elastics, - Cut away return edge in forearms. - Paint AB-buttons. For the 3:rd time.. - Fixate shoulder-straps. Anything I missed? Oh yeah. -Heal my knuckle! ^^ Have a good one all!
  12. Thanks man. Haha, I thought I would be handicapped and not being able to use my left hand but all I do with it is holding pieces mostly and that worked just as good without the index-finger..
  13. Seems to be pretty hard to find here in Sweden also. Find alot of 50mm and smaller.
  14. Doh! That hurt to hear.. Spent alot of time on that one (actually made one that was too short at first). What kind of material is it on the ROTJ-belt then? In swedish preferably. Is the design very different?
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys.. Yeah 'Oh no' was something I thought alot also when I started to realize what I've given myself into.. After fitting and strapping my shins the joint on the right one didn't look that satisfying so I made a little touch-up on it as seen below. Before. The gap on top there doesn't look that bad on this pic but it didn't look good. Made a cut in it and started working on it with a hobby-iron until I got it to fit better. Cut a small piece of abs and fitted it in and added some abs-paste. Final result after some sanding. Can't really get rid of the bubbles, gonna try and do a tiny bit more sanding, I don't want it to be too thin either. Any tips on using abs-paste the best? Have read through some short guides. Some say that thin layers would prevent the bubbles but I haven't got that to work so far.
