  1. That is the way to go, so much easier aiming high from the start, just keep an eye on the small details and you will be right. Even though the new CRL's are not in effect I did build to them and it was not that much extra work. If any new changes are made to the CRL's in the future I would still modify my armor to match, I think once you reach that level you should try to do what you can to stay at it. Good luck with the build and if you need help just give one of us a shout
  2. True they are not in effect as yet but they may be by time Ron goes to apply, I would still build to those requirements just in case, and really there is not that much extra to do.
  3. LOL, a little trimming and you should be fine
  4. No that is not the same lid, in the picture below it is the tk on the left that has the grappling hook. you can see the comlink on the side. The black trim on the lid is too far down to be the one above, also it could not have been a lid swap with the trooper on the right as neither has the smaller hero teeth. "Is it Luke", who knows could have been a stand in for that shot.
  5. LOL some imperial laxatives may be needed. It really depends on your height as too how high the thighs sit but you really need a little room on the back, you can rotate the front a little too to if you wish.
  6. Looking good but just watch the couple of pieces with the over hang as you may find that they will catch or pinch your skin. Going well keep it up.
  7. Fine if you don't want to walk, can you see the over and under lap, you need to be able to move
  8. I was encouraged to aim for centurion at the start by a fellow member at my local garrison, only a few mods and some extra bits to buy, so really I did kind off skip over EIB, even though I had to apply for it. Some like the challenge of reaching each level and do it one level at a time which is great but I am still glad I learnt all I could and built for centurion. Do I think I could of built for even more screen accuracy, the answer is yes so should there be another level over centurion, something to consider.
  9. Troopermaster TM Contact: Please see info contained in for sale threads when posted. Availability: Limited. Kit: ABS, untrimmed, fan sculpt. Reputedly the most accurate fan sculpt. Seams on legs and arms are butt-joins with capping strips. Availability: As slots become available, for sale threads will be posted. Kits are very limited and offered infrequently. Comments: This is really beautiful armour and extremely movie-accurate. It comes at the price of being pretty tricky to assemble though, with potentially a long wait for supply. TM now supplies all his armour in acrylic-capped ABS. His ABS suits are incredibly glossy and, if assembled with care, look fabulous. Not for very tall troopers. Armour is more generous than SDS or AP, but not as large as RT-mod.
  10. Everyone hates to take the first step and make a cut lol, don't panic there are those out there to guide you on your way. Start a build thread and people will chime in and offer advice, I am sure you will glide through like those who have been in the same boat before you
  11. Congrats and well done, some nice detail work there
  12. There are a few guys that use the same picture, didn't know it was yours, your website wasn't working so who knew. Lots of random non copyrighted photos of TK's out there on the www lol
  13. Looking forward to the new project, I know a lot of guys that had tried your old website and it was a shame they couldn't get to it as you had a nice build there.
  14. I have the same and I agree not very accurate
  15. Cool one of the lucky ones
  16. I have seen some pretty large back cover pieces, even some triangle shaped ones, but really you are doing the best thing making the front and rear match. Shame about having to wait for more ABS but it will be worth it in the end. Keep up the good work
  17. Looking good, I had the same problem with my forearms, just place two small pieces of foam inside and added a little super glue. Just make sure they are far enough up the arm so they don't stop your gloves going inside.
  18. Looking good, your thighs could do to come down a little.
  19. Also the fitment is not aligned properly it should follow the ridge underneath, also the ammo belt on the other knee is too high up, should be riveted in top corner and aligned with the ridge on the side. Good luck with approval.
  20. Those side projects can keep us busy lol. Now hurry up and get back to work, I am waiting to congratulate you
  21. Really!, have you had a good look at TM armor, very nice indeed, it is on my wish list
  22. Good luck team for the year ahead, TK85421 ready to serve
  23. Be aware that not all armor makers use the same ABS and there can be a difference in colour, I have just seen the difference between TM and ATA and you do notice when the piecs are right next to each other. Also you build the armor to fit you, have a look through some of the build threads to see the differences in body size and shapes and the different armors used.
  24. Glue down at the front, depends on what armor maker you have but usually 1 large and 4 small ridges (ata can only fit one large and 3 small ridges due to the chest). Make sure that it sits over the back plate in the right postion, before gluing taped the straps on, wore the armor and looked at the back of the straps in the mirror, once happy I marked around the front of the straps with a pencil. If you find the back of the straps sit too high you can apply some heat and bend them slightly.
  25. Yes you can tweak the ABS with some heat but it takes a bit of practice and no it doesn't ruin the finish. I have ATA and am 6 feet and 67kg, for the arms and legs you can make larger or small finish strips depending on your size. Most armor makers sell full kits of armor the odd one will sell you a part. Building is entirely up to you but for basic approval you need to at least build to the base CRL's. Some build for comfort, some build for absolute screen accuracy, I built for centurion as I wanted to have the most of the small details you get to see in the films but with comfort and durability. You could have intoduced yourself in the new members section just to make everyone aware that you are here
