  1. Looking good, I did replace the pipe on mine, if you get the right size pipe you can just take off the front section, there is enough wall thickness on the main body. I have my blaster build links in the sig if you want some reference pic's
  2. I use two small computer fans each running on a rechargeable 9.6V toy battery pack, I have picked up a few of these so I can swap it out if I run low on power. I also have a battery pack that I can plug into my aker if that runs low of powers -------------- http://www.greenforcecells.com/fimage/96v2200mah2.jpg
  3. Congrats and welcome to the ranks trooper
  4. Apart from losing some elastic in one if my shoulder straps I have not had any armor fix issues. Day after a troop I wash all soft parts and lid foam and spend about 15 with some spray cleaner and tag and give the hard armor a good rub down. As like Clamps I spend most of my time sorting aranging and making sure everything is there
  5. As long as you can fit you're arm in you should be right
  6. Yup looks good to me, great work too btw, research is the best help with building armor. Keep it up
  7. Cover strip just goes to the edge of the ridges
  8. Translation is just fine, like speaking with yoda LOL. Great attitude Stephan good luck on the next round
  9. Depending on how they fit is the important part, if you can go a little small then I would say keep the bottom flush, but if you need the large size then keep the top the same and trim the bottoms. Careful cutting and a smoothing with a heat iron or household iron on low, will help to cure and smooth the cut surfaces
  10. Awesome standing by with popcorn and beer
  11. A little abs or plastic for strength behind the crack and some e6000 should do the trick. You can then fill the outside of the crack with either, abs paste, while silicon or bondo, the crack may even be not too visible once you have given it some strength behind
  12. Looking good, a few issues, sniper plate is too low, your ammo belt on the other leg is fitted in the wrong spot, should be riveted in the top corner. The black lines are a little large and messy on you're lid. You're right thigh could come up a little also tuck the gloves in a little better in the forearms. Biceps could come up a bit, I don't see elastic from the bells to them, also the right forearm looks as it needs to rotate in slightly. Just a few tweaks for a sharper looking application, good luck.
  13. Congrats and welcome to the ranks, a few more details and tweaks and you would be ready for Centurian
  14. Here's the tip on bleed through http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23204-tip-on-tube-stripe-painting-with-no-bleed-through/page-2?hl=%2Btube+%2Bstripe#entry294139 Tube stripe color just looked really dark in the photo's. The last teeth should be pointed at the end on either side, but for basic approval you are fine.
  15. Awesome, loved opening my first brown box, good luck with the build
  16. OK just a couple of things, with your armor fit up looks like you're right bicep needs to come up, thighs could come up a bit too, foam behind your shin will stop it from rotating, also elastic from you're boot to the shin can help them from coming up. Now helmet, the tube stripes look a bit large in the photos also not enough of them, could just be the photo, also what blue did you use. There is a tip about painting tube stripes on the forum, first paint white then if they bleed it will only be white underneath, then paint blue on top and the blue won't bleed through. Is the black on the vocoder satin black, that is more acceptable. The cap looks a little slanted you may want to look at fixing this but you could play with the rubber trim and get away with it. The grey on the end of you're teeth need more of a point to them. Just watch the outside of your painting, the straighter the lines the better. Don't panic its only a few tweaks and you will get there, good luck with the rest of the build
  17. Looking good, nice work I don't have a camera handy but I just cut a rectangle and took out a v section where my nose is, I then drill a hole in each end, glued a small piece of plastic at either side of the eyes, lay the lens on top, then drill holes through into the plastic blocks behind and secure with screws. Some use double sided tape, glue, silicon, hot glue, there is no right or wrong way but if you leave a little gap it will help reduce fogging. Hope that made sense, keep up the good work
  18. Looking good, apart from rivets not placed properly, you could bring you're drop boxes up a little and closer to the ends of belt, also you're forearms look huge, can you reduce the size of them, you could also bring your biceps down to close the gap between them and you're forearms. I would also try to get rid of the extra on the end of the belt or Velcro the end. That being said you shouldn't have any problems with basic approval, a few tweaks and I can see EIB in you're future
  19. I used a thin metal coat hanger and wrapped the wire around a broom handle, it is springy and I have a working bolt which has not failed as yet. Some hardware stores have springs, other than that I would say search the evil bay
  20. I use a belt and braces, then elastic to hold the thighs up, there is also elastic between the shoulder bells, biceps, forearms, keeps everything in the right places. You can also put elastic from you're boots to the bottom of you're shins this will keep them from drifting up. There are all different ways people add elastic, have a look through some of the build threads, I think there also may be a few how too's also.
  21. Looking good so far just watch extra material on you're cover strips and round the corners as they will catch
  22. +1 I had the same issue, I think most of us do the first time, amazing how a few holes, rivets and screws can make a difference
  23. Good luck with approval, a few tweaks and you will get there, be worth the extra work in the end
  24. If you're number 2 wouldn't that make you Pooper Trooper
