  1. Apart from the painting it's like watching my own build lol. Glad my threads are off help, it's nice to give back for all the work others have posted before. Hope you don't go to insane with the wait, just try and get all the things you will need for your build for when the armor arrives. Oh there are blasters to build too, I got a bit carried away lol. Keep up the good work
  2. Thanks I had a blast building it, I love the fact that most of it is available at any hardware store. Going to keep an eye on your build I have a hankering for something a bit larger lol
  3. Great to see you back, been waiting to see this finished, I have one on my to build list lol
  4. I did my arms 16mm and my legs 22 mm, pretty sure up to 25mm is fine. Depending on how the armor fits you can go bigger
  5. If soapy water doesn't work then try a spray of vinegar, a cheap household remedy for mold. I have tried the inner glove liners and I find them very comfortable. They were available at a local supermarket and quite cheap
  6. Was just like yesterday when I opened my box with glee, then panic set in lol. As said before take your time and before you even cut one peace research and if needed ask questions, that's what we are all here for. Good luck can't wait to see you underway
  7. ATA is a good choice, it was my first armor, found it easy to work with. Downside there is a long wait as it is quite popular but most of the time you can purchase your helmet first as they normally have them in stock.
  8. From what I have read he doesn't post very quickly and is hard to contact
  9. Didn't know that, still on the learning curve
  10. Don't get me wrong ATA is a great armor but now thinking back if I knew what I did back when I started this building journey I think I may have saved a little more, paid the extra postage and gone for something a little more screen accurate and original like TM or TE (derived). Good luck with what ever you decide, you can't go wrong with any of these armors
  11. 1. Don't laugh I used some webbing and clips from a dop collar, woof lol. The foam I cut slightly larger than the template and it holds by itself as the ridge and screw seem to hold it. 2. Screws will work fine to hold it together, you can to make sure they don't come loose just put a little drop of superglue on the thread, you can still remove the nuts later. 3. I have a couple of computer fans in my lid connected to 2 9 volt batteries and a switch next to my cheek, I have these mounted to the mic screws Keep up the good work
  12. I think the work you are putting into this armor is outstanding, keep it up
  13. Nice work, there was a similar fix here http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/9164-tip-boots-poppin-out-of-the-shin-pieces-my-fix/page__hl__%2Bboot+%2Bstrap__fromsearch__1
  14. Sorry when I re-read the post I realised I should have added more info
  15. Have a look here http://www.duneseagarrison.com/
  16. There is some auto spray paints used to change the colour of upholstery, may be worth a try. I don't think you would be able to use a dye as such, not unless you scuffed off the top glossy layer of those shoes but that may ruin them. Even a black enamel spray would work but may come off easily around the creases and movement areas
  17. Hopefully we can get a full thread with other sizing, it would be good for future reference
  18. In a word WOW, very nicely done, would love to have non shakey hands again LOL
  19. I first traced the outer sole, then cut 5 mm away, put inside boot and rubbed around to get the inprint of the sides, trimmed again and tried inside, trimmed until I had a perfect fit. When I place my foot onto the template I have 1/2 an inch gap on the toes, as I said they are a little large but I will put in some padding to solve this .
  20. No only one side of the ABS is glued the other is free. The peices are glued on the back kidney, they are free on the ab section.
  21. Much better, just finishes off the look, well done for taking the advice
