  1. Nice work, for some reason your images are showing very small @ 248 x 441 pixels so very hard to seen any details, you may want to add some higher resolution images.
  2. Looks much better and you have clearance at the top of the thighs
  3. There are several options for image links on Imgur, but if you are using the mobile version you can simply copy and paste directly into your post here as I did above. Posting a link to offsite won't get you very much feedback.
  4. You can always reach out to the LMO's to enquire, never know you may get an answer [email protected]
  5. Inch at the back would be fine. You will find you don't get as much movement with armor on, I can't bend my knee back that far as it is. You do have an option to add cut outs as some screen troopers had them BUT I wouldn't do anything with that until trying on boots, shins, thighs and cod/ab and then check out the gaps and movement. Always easier to take off later but harder to put back on
  6. Nice work, I use 3 dremels (well knock off cheaper ones) each has as different tip as I hate changing them while trimming. You definitely want to finish off those areas with hand files, much better control and can really get into the corners. Can normally find cheap sets on eBay, this sort of thing
  7. Something like this perhaps, glue to the inside of the chest, then run elastic through the slot and to the ab bracket. Or even use velcro, what ever works
  8. You may need to leave the brackets for looks and add strapping behind. You could add some snaps and plate, or even a piece of ABS plastic with bend and a slot in large enough for elastic further up in the chest and connect that piece of plastic or snap plate to the original ab bracket perhaps. It just looks like the bracket system is not allowing it to come up and is basically pushing it down. Here is some images of some strapping options For the time being you could even remove the elastic from the brackets and add velcro, that you could adjust and trial and get the right position
  9. Bugger, but good recovery
  10. Indeed and there is a build and CRL being worked on for that one, it's still listed on the NTLC page https://databank.501st.com/databank/New_to_the_Legion_Costumes_in_Progress But in my mind is not clear enough in detail as well as it is the only reference and does not follow CRL reference requirements The character must be represented visually by an officially authorized Star Wars publication. Ideally, clear full body front/back/side reference should be available, but can be examined on a case by case basis. Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved. An action figure or statue may be used as supplemental reference, but cannot not be the sole reference. McQuarrie concept characters, and other characters whose only reference exists in concept are open for Legion consideration on a ā€œcase-by-case basisā€. As I say ultimately at this stage it's up to the LMO's if they will approve a CRL for a figure and this can change depending on who is in the role, be nice to get this locked down once and for all, it has happened in the past. For those interested here is the guidelines for new costume approval https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLGuide
  11. Excellent news, noting better than a BBB, looking forward to seeing some images and also your build progressing. Most of us use a free online image host like Imgur for posting images to threads, just upload, copy and paste the "direct link" to your images directly into your thread. Good luck.
  12. You need to post the "direct link" option
  13. At the end of the day the public don't normally see the back of troopers, more the front so I would stick with a standard sized front and larger back. But I would also suggest talking with your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they may like a consistent matching appearance, always pays to check as they will be the ones approving you
  14. Some nice teeth references can be found here:
  15. It would be up to the LMO's. I believe there are discussions whether a figure is enough reference for a CRL, this has changed from year to year depending on who is in the role, we have seen CRL's made in the past from just a figure so we will have to see. CRL's are only made when someone has built a costume and seeks approval. There is then the discussion of which detachment will home Cardinal as he would be considered a specialist and not "white armor". Even if they allow a figure for reference I would say it would be with the helmet that was being worn on the figure EVEN when the helmet does not fit the time period of when it was being worn. Still not enough full reference material from a book
  16. Nice work, looks like your cod is a little low, the ab appears to be coming out under your chest plate, I would try lifting the ab/cod higher, would give you more room at the top of the thighs Shoulder bells at the bottom are sitting outwards a little, you could try tightening the strapping to see if they will pull in a little more. You could probably cut the paint down a little on your ab buttons too, look a little large No major issues I think you will be fine
  17. Just don't rush the painting, sometimes it's better to leave a project to dry properly rather than rushing and having issue with paint reacting when not dry enough, I've ran into this a few times
  18. Looks like your cod is sitting low, can you move the ab/cod upwards, almost looks like it is coming out under your chest
  19. Interesting he made them that way but I guess because the fronts are glued they shouldn't appear open, they will however look like a cover strip is glued on, with the inside you could match the look of a cover strip glued on by perhaps running a fine pencil down the ridge so it appears like a shadow, (or even some acrylic wash and wipe away excess).
  20. Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper
  21. For fine lines that are a little wonky you can go over with a black permanent marker, a little easier to control compared with a paint brush
  22. Also you will need either a blaster or lightsaber: "While blasters (weapons) are not required for basic approval, for EIB and Centurion levels they are, and may need upgrades (also listed in the CRL)."
  23. Nice work, something that stands right out which you may want to correct before the DO's see your application is your shin closing, they need to close outside over inside you have them opposite, this is so the opening can not be seen from the outside. Also the cover strips should stop before the ridge on the bottom of your thighs and also on the top of your shins. Cover strips should also stop above the lower thigh ridge on the front also Although a weapon is optional for basic approval it is a requirement for EIB
