Force Unleashed Phase III StormClone Armor
gmrhodes13 replied to DeltaReynolds's topic in The Force Unleashed Costumes
I take my hat off for anyone that can put together a 3D design, I've done some pretty basic stuff (add a hole, remove a section, cut) but my brain just isn't up to designing. Nice work -
Hello and welcome back, good luck with your costume approvals

The orginal brackets/elastic from RS can be a little loose, adding some more tighter strapping behind the ab/chest should help. Notice the strapping in this image I like to use adjusters between the chest and ab so it can be adjusted if needed. Looks like the chest to backplate are held as far as they can go, you could remove the shoulder straps (depending on what glue was used) and bring them further backwards. The ridges/tabs on the front can vary depending on armor so only having 2 or 3 smaller tab with the larger tab should be enough. Rough image but you should get the idea, you may need to bend the front straps slightly, some use a hot water bath, I use a heat gun but I've had a lot of practice You are pretty stuck with the positions of the rest of the armor on you, very hard to make it extend unless you add loose strapping but then you will have gaps between the armor pieces. I would adjust the chest/ab first and see how everything is looking then

That's a weird spot for a crack or two by the looks.of it. Any white paimt should help. Adding some sugru or ABS paste behind will help it to not crack further. -

I use a block of foam on each side which fits snugly against the side of my head, this stops any wobbling or tilting, may work. Not my helmet but similar padding A few others with side padding -

A few used to weather that area but can't say I've seen that on any recent centurion applications. From references you don't really see any weathering there. Ultimately it would be up to the @Deployment Officer Team -
Very sorry to hear of your loss, here is a great thread of useful info to get you on your way

I don't use the sticky backed velcro as it tends to come loose over time. Any velcro will work depends where you want to apply it, I only use it on the shins, everywhere else is elastic and snaps. FISD Master Armorer Program - Overview
gmrhodes13 replied to Daetrin's topic in FISD Master Armorer Program
Unfortunately I see the same thing, many are just happy to get basic approval no matter what support you give, some find having to go to a forum a tedious job, I don't know why myself it's not that hard. I've built plenty of kits but unfortunately only one took his to EIB, I'm sure this program would get more action if it was just basic builds and helping with approval, but that is kind of covered by our attache program -

Just adding this link or I'll forget, it's missing A LOT of images and many use this as a source for E-11 references, many of the images will show if you right click and select "open link in new window", I will get to this thread once I have more time (perhaps after elections) Also an update on where we are, unfortunately I have found that when the security (https) requirement was added to the forums many links and images that previously would open (in many of the completed sections) no longer do so, this basically means going over all the work that's already been undertaken to check all links, so this project is far from finished.
