TikiTechie requesting pre-approval for TLJ First Order TK
gmrhodes13 replied to TikiTechie's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
I don't have any photos handy, I just have a tab of velcro hanging down from the bottom of the shin front and back and velcro on the bottom inside of the spat font and back, the shins are angled downwards so the spats can't work there way up when closed and tight. -
TikiTechie requesting pre-approval for TLJ First Order TK
gmrhodes13 replied to TikiTechie's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Looking smart trooper, you'll hate me, just minor things, rotate right thigh to match left and watch spat placement, just covering black oval detail. -
Nice work trooper Your images are of a very small size/resolution 640 x 480 PHOTO GUIDELINES Photo size- At least 800 X 600 (preferably 1280 X 960) Good lighting A neutral (solid) background color is suggested, more info in this thread A couple of pics the DO's like to see Close-up of ab/kidney rivets Left sniper knee plate close up Right sniper knee plate close up Front sniper knee plate close up Left thigh ammo pack rivet close up inside and out Right thigh ammo pack rivet close up inside and out

TikiTechie requesting pre-approval for TLJ First Order TK
gmrhodes13 replied to TikiTechie's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Looking good trooper, just a couple of fitment issues, which are hard to see while wearing a costume, a long mirror can be really handy. A little out of sync on the back, note the angles of the backplate, detonator, belt, posterior (which is also kitting your thigh) Elbow gaskets are a little bunched up Also try taking your photos a little further back, helmet looks a little squashed. You could shorten the front strapping of the shoulders to yoke, this will help pull the shoulders back inwards once you have moved your arms, if you compare with your back image you have more black showing on the front. We also spoke earlier about moving your forearms up a little more, give you more room around the handplates/wrist TLJ detonator details are different from TFA, note the endcap on the left side. TLJ TFA The end cap is part of an inner cylinder that slides into the detonator assembly. The cylinder is completely painted black. Albeit this is for L3 Centurion Best of luck with approval and your GML, they may not be as picky as me -
Doesn't time fly, I think this build is one for the longest build awards Your photos are very low resolution so hard to make some issues out, here are just a few. Tighter strapping on the ends of the posterior can help. I came up with the V tab idea, helps keep closed that area With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. Right thigh should come up to match the left, will give you a little more room at the knee. Cover strip should stop just above the knee ridge Belt could come up a touch more Elastic should be on the lower shoulders, helps to bring them inwards "The top of the ABS belt shall sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical ab button panels. A slight overlap is suggested, but not required." Shoulder straps are sitting up on the backplate, may need some heat to get them to come down "For Level 2, no visible rivets are present. For Level 3, they shall free float in the back, be glued in the front and need to be held down in the back via a white elastic band to the white fabric/elastic chest/back connection. Ideally this strap should be 1/4 inch (5 mm) wide, and connect over the tab at the top of the back armor. The bridge should also lay flush against the back." Detonator should sit down on the belt, also appears the control panel not trimmed correctly Backplate overlapping the kidney Bicep may need more trimming on the bottom Rear armor pieces ie thighs should not overlap they should be trimmed straight, glued with a cover strip on the front. Normally if you have the cut out at the top of the shin you would also add this to the thighs Don't loose hope, most are just adjustments and it's rare to get everything right on the first go around

Codpiece/Kidney Plate Overlap
gmrhodes13 replied to WheatStateSandy's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
You really want to have the armor parallel to your body, in the first photo the abdomen and cod are slanted baackwards. Albeit I'm not the skinniest person I have seen in armor I have 2 x 2 inch blocks of foam behind my abdomen to help push the abdomen out so when I close my belt it doesn't squash the sides together. You may also want to try close the gap between the posterior and kidney, some use V tabs to help that issue or tighter strapping more towards the ends. With a heat gun you bend strips of ABS plastic into the shape of a V, only glue one side and the other remains free to allow movement when you bend. Just helps stop the butt plate from pushing back from the back plate. A few threads for those of the smaller frame may give you some ideas of how to trim. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ -
Codpiece/Kidney Plate Overlap
gmrhodes13 replied to WheatStateSandy's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Photos would be a great idea so we can better help to see any possible issues, text isn't quite enough, kidney does not go with codpiece the abdomen does, kidney goes with posterior. Which armor OTTK or FOTK? What height are you? -

I was looking at this patent just a few hours ago and noticed Current Assignee: Disney Enterprises Some pics for those interested, uses an array of triggers PDF download link -
A nice looking blaster, when it arrives you could do a quick adjustment to the Hengstler and bring it up a little as it is quite low, I'm sure the DO's would mention it Un blaster bonito. Cuando llegue, puedes hacer un ajuste rĆ”pido al Hengstler y subirlo un poco, ya que estĆ” bastante bajo, estoy seguro de que los DO lo mencionarĆan References

Very nice job and some great information for others to follow, well done. Strike the other comment, blaster was rotated

Yes I have elastic from the forearm to bicep, much like the OTTK just thinner and on the rear so they aren't noticed. -

Looking smart trooper, good luck with approval. If I could suggest bringing up your forearms just a little to give you some room between them and the hand plates, will reduce the gap at your elbows too -

I like using JB weld, dries solid and can be sanded. Be a case of adding a shim with a support piece behind, fill the gap with JB weld, auto bondo or similar, sand, paint. -

To be honest I'm not the greatest wordsmith. Any text will be reviewed and discussed by staff and members and may change, just add the basic and we'll see what is suggested. Yes I think it would need to be added to each armor piece as there are so many different versions of the armor look.

probably a dumb question

It's really a personal choice, ANH Stunt is the more seen version being the first Stormtroopers in Star Wars but some like the dark teeth look of the ESB. With only a few items changed you can actually do both versions if you wish and even a Hero version of the ANH. Here's a spreadsheet of the differences https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view Totals of Stormtrooper costumes currently in the legion -

Depending on where you purchase them some come with a charger some don't, I purchase most of my electronics from Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003918347212.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.41.2fea6aaauXaVrh&algo_pvid=cdb65934-1856-4eb3-94cf-c0c6c9104cc0&aem_p4p_detail=2023102316281414511821057963460000903333&algo_exp_id=cdb65934-1856-4eb3-94cf-c0c6c9104cc0-20&pdp_npi=4%40dis!AUD!9.92!5.95!!!6.17!!%402101c71a16981036947515305ee413!12000027463280395!sea!AU!178098435!&curPageLogUid=BRvMQqnldwTk&search_p4p_id=2023102316281414511821057963460000903333_21- 38 replies
