  1. I have some small cracks on the return edges of my chest plate and back plate that have developed overtime since I began wearing the full kit. Thankfully, none have extended past the return edge and onto the main section of the armor yet. I am familiar with the fabric/CA glue method, but I do not have any white fabric with me. I do, however, have ABS scraps, which has led me to consider repairing the cracks with small plastic strips applied on the inside with CA glue (JB Superweld is my personal go-to, very nice stuff). Has anyone here done it this way, and how well has it served you? I take it the extra plastic would act as reinforcement, so the affected area does not crack again. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
  2. My apologies if I mixed up the terms, I simply know the abdomen as the codpiece. I have an original trilogy TK, and I'm 5'9", 145-150 lb. The red line indicates the edge of the abdomen plate, and the blue line indicates (roughly) where the edge of the kidney plate lies underneath. I've considered trimming the abdomen, since the kidney plate already lines up pretty well at the middle of my torso. I'd be doing this mainly so the rivets on the left side are all visible.
  3. When I put on my torso armor, my codpiece overlaps my kidney plate when I finally tighten my canvas belt and close it up in the back. Have any of you encountered this problem and trimmed either the former, latter or both to get the ends to properly butt up against one another? If so, which piece did you do? If you trimmed both, did you take more off (proportionally) from one or the other? Thanks!
  4. Hello! Firstly, I just wanna say I'm excited to be here to meet new people and learn tons of building tips, armor history, etc. I have a sandtrooper kit and have signed up to the MEPD forum, but I felt it important to be here as well, as this seems to be the main hub for general stormtrooper knowledge. So, with that out of the way, I have a question: are there any makers based in the United States who make spare parts for "smaller" people? I'm a little over 5'9", 145 lb. with fairly slender limbs (lots of biking and running). I'm looking for a new pair of shins that can be built to comfortably fit 13.5" calves. Long story short, I prepped my old shins wrong, and the reversing process ended in failure. But, the one silver lining is that I never seemed to like the look of those ones, anyway, as they always looked wide and bloated compared to others I have seen. I have made contact with Dave of Dave's Darkside Depot and Walt of Walt's Trooper Factory so far, considering getting a pair from Walt. Any other makers you would suggest hitting up or ordering from as an alternative? Thanks!
