Split Abdomen and crotch ... Maybe RT-Mod, maybe an old one -
Boots for Kids - Recommendations?
Minuteman replied to Clamps's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Would be accurate, but not that expensive.... search for "shires woodstock" judhpur boots e.g. on ebay. Paint them white and you got inexpensive centurion level boots for the little ones -
Trying to refurbish my FX

Hey Christoph! Good to see you over here ;-) Nice helmet you found there... must be an artist who sold it to you will go to the post office tomorrow. What image hoster do you use? I am a big fan of http://www.photobucket.com . Works very good and has the right size. Nice mod with the thumbprint, but remember, that it was only very prominent on the left bicep, only very slight on the right one: right: left: Keep the mods coming -

What we know about strapping, snaps, rivets etc
Minuteman replied to Locitus's topic in The Replica Section
Derrek, you were right. There is no picture with measurements.... but I think I remember the 18 mm from an ebay auction, that I did not win. It was a size 10 sew on snap card with the dimension 18 mm printed on it. Have searched google for a newey size chart.... but without success. -
I.need.this.shirt!!! <br />Great newsletter, was fun to read!

The shoulder snap is a 18 mm head. Saw a picture of the RS suit with measurements. But I'm on my smartphone ATM... -
Really? efx produced the same helmet as the efx stunt and just cut out 3 teeth per side? Thats funny There was once a "real" efx hero lid sold back in 2008 (http://starwarshelmets.com/efx_stormtrooper_helmet.htm) but it is rare these days. Apart from what the CRL says a real hero helmet needs bubble lenses (my personal opinion), Would be stupid to call it a hero without the most differing part concerning the stunt. I will explain this with the fact that you are not that long in the hobby, but man: the RS Stunt helmet is THE referrence concerning Stunt/Stormtrooper helmets. The efx is definitely not more detailed than the RS helmet.... at least it hasn´t got more original detail, but is digitally overworked, symetrical, and cleaned up. But I respect people who like that kind of idealised look after all. Sorry but I can´t help you with the changes to the efx for base acceptance. I´ve seen TM´s awesome hero helmet and keep in mind: the efx is really far away,,,, you can always sell the efx and get the real deal RS armor with efx helmet - that combination would be new to me.

My old armor is AM and it definitely is thick armor. About 3 mm I think. Snaps work good on it, bracktes could become risky...... but impossible is nothing.
-
No problems concerning size, but keep in mind that cap armor is HIPS plastic and needs to be painted. If that is fine for you then this will be great armor for you.

Scootch is a great guy to deal with, good costumer service and he makes some darin fine products. He is one of the very few good eBay sellers.

Welcome Ted! Clones are very cool, but maybe the troops at the clonetrooper detachement can give you better advice: http://forum.clonetroopers.net/ The visibility in stormtrooper armor is not that good. You can easily look over small children, stairs or other obstacles. Also everything is now green, because of the green acetate lens used in TK helmets. Sitting down is possibile for some troopers (me included), but depends on the material of your armor, your strapping and finally the level of risk you are willing to take. I usually take of my arm and torso armor to go to the bathroom for a small break, but a big break means a full "strip tease" for me. What kind of dance do you mean? Some standard things like discofox, walzer and so are possible, but break dance would be difficult Good luck on your way, maybe you will find your love for TKs <3

ANH stunt vs. Hero, ESB, and ROTJ

Who made these? This means that there was fanmade armor before the Marco suit?
-
My $ 0,02: Sell it!!! Run as fast as you can, the molds are crap, fibreglass is a pain to wear and to work with.... Just sell it. There are many good options you can look for. Go to the "Getting started" section and see our list of vetted armorers. Good luck on your way!

In fact I use both Karotte and Möhre. But Sahne and .... I forgot the Austrian word, but it sounds really funny I remember
-
Oh Mathias Austrians speak cleaner german than the Germans? Austrian German is in many ways different than the "real deal" "Hochdeutsch" (High-German?!). For example the Austrians call a tomato (Tomate in German) a "Paradeiser". Crazy folks I say ! Again this real "Hochdeutsch" is only purely spoken in Lower Saxony, which is the area around Hannover, in the Ruhr-District we speak a much harder and slightly simplified German. I really love Austria for its mountains and the ski holidays I make there every year.... let it be in the Montafon, in Obertauern, in Zauchensee in Zell am See or elsewhere. Otherwise I connect Austria with the fact that Hitler was "your creation", although most people around the globe link us Germans more directly to him. Maybe I´ll come over in summer for a short climbing tour - the mountains are also great without snow.

LeMaxim's RS PVC ANH Stunt Build [*RS] (WIP)
Minuteman replied to LeMaxim's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wow! These professional pictures are beautiful to look at. For the moment my suggestion would be to get the biceps more snug. There is plenty of return edge at the bottom of them, take that off and then tighten the biceps up a little. Or maybe you want to start bodybuilding in the near future and you should keep it as it is I can imagine that walking is not a big pleasure for you when I look at the back shot.... the thighs will pinch the buttplate, won´t they? But walking uncomfortably is accurate ;-) You will not have major problems with EIB and Centurion -
You´re right Germain bought Verne´s decals myself and didn´t thought about that Those are really awesome!

So you need new ESB decals. Have a look at trooperbay. Their decals are very nice.

Armor Review Input Welcomed!
Minuteman replied to Stormy1992's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
You´re a hard nut to crack. Where is the problem? You got on the list RS, TM, CfO, ATA, AP, T/MC and RT-MOD. They all either sculpted the armor themselves (TM and RT-MOD), cast originals (RS and CfO) or gained the rights to cast the armor ( ATA, AP, T/MC). Those who gained the rights mostly paid for them. And we don´t speak about $50. CTM and all the other rubish just COPIED without PERMISSION. That is the point. Nothing more and nothing less. Concerning MTK and CAP/ CAP-W I am unsure why they are not on the list. I´ve read the explanation some time ago, but got no clue where. Both paid a small fortune to gain there molds/permission to cast either. Again, CTM, makerofthings and all of them did not. What do you mean with charitable attitudes? Oh hey, when a chinese motor company copies a Ford Mustang, propably Ford would say: "Today I got a charitable attitude, let them do there thing and make a lot of money!" Got that? Our vetted armor makers provide us with what we all dreamed of as a child. They are reliable and put amounts of money into getting the possibility to do so. It is clear that good armor costs its price, but we happily pay it, because they worked hard for it. It is our "duty" to protect their armor, to not let it be recasted and to let other people make easy money with it. Nothing about charity. You do charity when you troop and collect money for a childrens hospital or whatever. In the end you can get into the 501st with a recast armor. But can you live with that that is the question. -

Thigh piece a little 'pinchy' on the inner part?
Minuteman replied to maxsteele's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
The first NE run had these ANH-style thighs, but they changed them to the older AM ones. God knows why.
