  1. I find HIPS a little easier to work with, especially heatbending is much easier, but ABS is sturdier and if acrylic capped, is shiny right from the start. I prefer ABS in the end.
  2. Has the nerd society come that far .... Selling trading cards?!
  3. Looks sweet Don´t be afraid, you´ll do the job - just keep in mind: "Measure twice, cut once"
  4. Extremely expensive. I once saw a carbon fiber helmet for about 1k.
  5. I use these press-on lenses and they work great. No fogging, very good sight compared to no glasses and no fudling with glasses under the helmet
  6. Different makers always bear the danger of color differences. But mostly these differences are very slight and are only recognized by the trained eye.
  7. 501st merch is only available to 501st members. Sorry! But seems that it won't be too long for you to join ;-)
  8. VT armor is a TE-derived recast. Don´t know the exact source, but it´s origin is for sure.
  9. This piece of merchandise history is almost too rare to let a child play with
  10. TM and RS are both bigger than ATA. After all it is still up to the builder to get the biggest possible opening .
  11. Dimo, nice to see how your TK/TKC has evolved! The helmet is great!
  12. All TE derived armors like ATA, AP, MTK, CAP-W and TM/C could propably made to fit. What is his weight?
  13. Welcome Josh! Two years ago I stood exactly where you stand now. I was 6'00 '' and about 170 pounds and searching for an affordable kit for my proportions. Back then I choose the AM because it was cheap and available, but I needed to modify it heavily to fit to my size. End of the story was it turned out pretty decent and I also received an EIB award with it, but when trooping with Garrison members with great armors like TM, RS and AP I always felt like the black sheep, if you understand what I mean? The AM simply can not compete with all those really great armors. At the moment I am selling my AM and building a new and hyper accurate TM and it is like night and day to look back at the AM. My advice: you got the right proportions to fit screen accurate armor. Then do it and do it completely right from the start. RS and TM are the best armors available but have their price and are UK located. But there are other nice kits available, like you mentioned ATA with its wait list, MTK always available, TMC, CAP-W, AP , etc. You will find something the right kit I am sure, but there is no need to choose the kit for the big trooper. Good luck trooper!
  14. HIPS is a plastic ---> HIgh impact poly styrene in contrast to the better ABS --> Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene My advice would be to take ABS armor and choose the maker according to your proportions. If you are more a slim build, you could easily go for example with AP, TM or RS (like Diana did just recently.VERY good build thread for girls: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25919-dianas-rs-props-build-anh-stunt/) Also bigger girl in TK armor, but then it should be for example, RT-Mod or AM. See you in armor soon
  15. Yes. Could very likely be T/MC. For the cover strips, you could also ask Tray for spare ABS to match the plastic color right.

Felix, APs standard mic tips are almost the same as the MFX ones. Don't know why they use these
  17. Wooooow! Nice job, nothing to comment on. This will be a clean centurion pass, too :-)
  18. Welcome Hedda! The Nordic Garrison will be happy about female support! You can see the list of our vetted armor makers here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ But as you are in the EU, you can get the best armors in the world custom free, as they are based in the UK, namely TM and RS Props armor. Your size seems to be a little like Mark Hammil in his best years, and he did also fit in TK armor, so why should you not? Diana fitted a RS armor very good to her smaller girl size, see here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25919-dianas-rs-props-build-anh-stunt/ Good luck and see you soon in the 501st
  19. Forget both. The armor is FX and outdated crap. See our list of vetted armor makers. For the boots have a look at tkboots ( just google). They are ready for approval. Good luck trooper!
