  1. As many of you know, the 501st elections have come to a close. The FISD membership has spoken. Congratulations to our 2018 FISD Detachment Leader Paul (Daetrin)!!!!
  2. Congrats Joe!!! You have done an awesome job! Welcome to the Centurion ranks!
  3. Very nice job with your build! I think everyone has you covered here. For basic approval I think you would just need to fix the belt and the thermal detonator. Other then that you should be good to go. Good luck!
  4. Before it wouldn’t let you react did you like posts before that? There may be a limit on the amount of likes per day. It should be unlimited but I know the limit is an option
  5. Yeah there we go pal!!! Congrats! Awesome job. Lets get that Centurion app in and bring another one home to ECG!
  6. It appears that this is an issue for many. Hang tight everyone
  7. Hi Michael. You have done a nice job putting your armor together. There is nothing really screaming at me that would prevent you from gaining basic approval. The other troopers have covered aspects that would need attention if you were looking to go towards Expert Infantry and Centurion. One other thing that I noticed that shouldn't effect any approval but would just effect functionality is that you sniper plate may need to be adjusted. It looks like it may be too close to your knee cap and in turn will get caught under your thigh when you are walking sometimes. A way you could fix this is to angle the sniper plate downward more or glue some spare ABS plastic together to make it like an inch thick and glue it onto your shin behind the sniper plate to move it outwards more. Overall you did a nice job.
  8. Ha yeah Boba Fett is crazy expensive. From what I hear it is the most expensive costume just to get something approved even without some decent parts. I look back and I spent approx $1500 on my TK. I thought that was a lot of money at the time and thought I was crazy for doing it. That was a walk in the park! I'm doing Vader now and I'm almost done buying everything and I'm at $3057. I still have to buy the cape and robe for about $650 and have everything tailored locally! Talk about crazy! And I still had thoughts about maybe doing a sandtrooper to keep me occupied. When does the craziness end??
  9. Ok Frank everything will work itself out. Like everyone has said so far is you are having alignment issues. The pieces themselves fit you but now it’s coming down the making it all look right. So you showed the picture of the CRL model and are looking at how his armor fits him. Well I would throw that out the window. You don’t have the same body type as that trooper. You should focus on getting your “lines”to line up right. Don’t compare yourself to another trooper. It will make you have less stressed about it all. Once you have yourself all lined up then you will look right. Listen my wife was always my photographer and like yours, she knows nothing about a stormtrooper. But guess what? They actually learn as time goes on and you torture them with more photos. Lol! You will get this right. Keep showing us photos and we will get you there. I like what Tony has done so far for you. Try and then post some new photos. If you can maybe pull up your thighs a little more as well
  10. Great job on the build Danny! I’m looking on my phone right now so it is a little fuzzy but is that a gap on the bottom of the left thigh? If that is a gap, is there anyway to try and close that up a little more? I don’t see if effecting any approval but my eyes went almost right to it. Again great job!
  11. So don’t hesitate with either of these purchases. You are buying the top of the line with either one of these. The difference between the acrylic capped and regular ABS is the acrylic capped is a very shiny bright white. The ABS is white but not as white. Also the regular ABS is more flexible and the acrylic capped is more ridged.
  12. Basically any kit is interchangeable between a sandtrooper and a stormtrooper. Most kits that I know of come with parts to build either or. But yes the MEPD would have all of the information you would need. Have fun!
  13. Also, last thing. Have you been over to the ECG forum to introduce yourself yet? http://www.501ecg.com/forum/ If you haven't we would love to hear from you.
  14. Thanks for updating the photos Anthony! They look great. I'm sure you won't have any issue with approval so lets bring another TK into the ECG!! BTW, we ended up changing a rule for posting in this forum after you made the first submission. For continuity sake, could we update your title to reflect the new posting model requirements? If you would like to do it that would be great but if not I would be more then happy to assist you. Also, you haven't mentioned it but your set is AM correct? Feel free to PM me if you run into any trouble fixing the title. Thanks!
  15. Nice job Matthew! You should have no issue with basic approval! Hopefully we will see you back for your EIB/Centurion app after that. Good luck!
  16. Looking good Anthony. You have done a fine job building this set of armor. Go get that TK number!
  17. This is going to be a very helpful program to many of the new recruits. I can't wait to see who the first participant will be!! Everyone have some fun with this and remember we are troopers helping troopers!
  18. Beautiful Joe! Really a nice looking set of armor! Lets bring another EIB to the ECG! Good luck!
  19. Hello everyone! I would like to announce a change to the ROTJ TK CRL. Under the Centurion requirements in the old CRL it used to state at that: There are no visible snaps, rivets or brads on the crotch tab of the Posterior Armor tab. After a review of screen captures it has been determined that there was indeed a snap on the posterior tab. Upon staff discussion, this has been removed from the Centurion requirements and the snap is now allowed for Centurion. Please feel free to re-familiarize yourself with the ROTJ CRL here: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rotj If you have any questions regarding this update please feel free to contact me via PM.
  20. Oh boy! Guess I know what’s next! this is a fun build. Looking great!
  21. Yeah I always know when there is going to be a problem because when the FISD gets slow or goes down, so does the SLD. But yes I agree that the website has been a lot slower lately then it has in the past. This is what happens when we are so popular!
