  1. I really think you could benefit from trimming the entire top of the thighs a little.
  2. The wife was talking about making it a whole vacation by doing DW after Celebration but 2 of my kids are still in diapers and won't remember it. Better off waiting a few more years when it comes back to Orlando and going all out. I figured out I'd be spending upwards to $5k to make all this happen and it makes sense to do it when they are older and get more out of it.
  3. Yeah seems like terrible timing. Might have to sit this one out and wait until it round robins back.
  4. So, I've never gone to a celebration before and living in upstate NY means driving would be a looong drive and flying would be best. For those of you that have gone to celebrations before and have had to fly, how much should I start budgeting for? Anyone make a complete vacation and gone to disney world after? Trying to get the best bang for my buck and know how much I'm going to have to save/spend before I hit the wife with a sticker shock.
  5. How passionate are you about trooping? I mean a real dedicated TK would shave her head......
  6. Oh, I know all too well of that incident. Happened in my garrison's AO. Luckily, he was not a member but caused quite a bit of drama.
  7. You must have a big head! I use a construction hat liner and it works great. Plenty of airflow and room to stuff electronics.
  8. I have the same setup and have no problems. Do you have Amp 2 from Tony as well? I turn it all the way up and then back down to half way or a little more. I have my mic taped in my bucket and the mic bent out where it almost touches my mouth. When I talk I speaker a bit louder than normal and it picks it up fine. If it's turned up all the way than it picks up my breathing and everything.
  9. Florida and Cali always getting the love.
  10. Shouldn't be that long, just long enough for the material to become pliable. Maybe a minute or so then run it under cold water
  11. Put some rubber bands on to hold the shape you want and dip it in a pot of warm water
  12. You'll want to do the 15mm fronts on both the bicep and forearm. On the rears, use whatever size you need but do it on both pieces so it matches.
  13. Perfect, no ridges either so no one except you will ever even know.
  14. When in doubt, refer to the great references here and browse the Centurion approved threads.
  15. If you look at some of the screen worn references, you'll notice there are some variances. Some will have some of the ridge exposed (especially on the thighs), whereas some are flush with the cover strip. The most important part in getting approved is making the armor fit you correctly while looking like what a stormtrooper is supposed to. Not everyone has the build of a 70's Brit.
  16. Just don't forget to put your phone on airplane mode or people will ask why is that stormtrooper ringing?!
  17. A-A-Ron got to hang out with freaking Peter Mayhew last weekend. So jealous.
  18. Do you think a thin plexiglass would be an alternative? I see others using aluminum sheet metal but I don't really like the idea of using a metal bracket with electronics that close to my face.
  19. I thought you guys celebrated Mum's Day last month like the Brits. I have 3 troops tomorrow for May the Fourth Be With You and 2 on Saturday. I have to go BIG on Sunday to appease the wifey.
  20. If you get approved with your jawa first, you'll have the DZ identifier because that's the detachment. Don't get too hung up on the detachment identifier. It's not like once you get your TK done you can't be called TK-#####. I have a guy in my garrison who has a costume in every single detachment. He even has a Mando Merc costume too. Sounds like you need to de-stress. Go out Friday with your girlfriends and hit up the closest space port's cantina.
  21. Unless you're making a sandtrooper with the famous droopy/sleepy eye, you have some more material to remove. Follow the contour of the eye socket while still leaving the depth.
  22. You might be able to polish the color out of those snaps. I believe I saw on here somewhere, someone did it. If not, you will need to replace them. When in doubt, look at source material and other's builds.
  23. Yeah, heat is heat. It take a little longer to get it malleable though
  24. Well I have been on his list since February but who knows how many there are in front of me. If you manage to get some in, I definitely want one for our setup. I'm begging the wife to let me buy a Glowforge laser engraver this Summer. Figured I can start selling box tags and some others that tend to take a long time if you order elsewhere.
