Fan Mounts/Brackets Void
Airborne Trooper replied to Airborne Trooper's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Oh bollocks! -
I'm more of an introvert. My wife does enough talking for everybody I'm typically the type of guy in the room that is quiet but taking everything in and is paying attention to all the things going on. Maybe that's the military ingrained in me though. I'm usually pretty quiet unless a subject like guns, the state of the country, etc. comes up and then I usually get fired up.

Sometimes I have to ADD weathering because my cod piece tends to rub on my thighs. I think for TKs it all depends on the troop. If you're doing a parade or something where folks expect to see squeeky clean TKs then bust out the Novus, if not it won't hurt to go a few troops before polishing. Good thing about sandies is any scratches and what not just add to the armor!

Get me a bracket pre wired with 2 fans and switches. I already have 2 fans that will become exhaust fans. Super excited about this, Tony! -

My kids love to wear my helmet so they can use the iCOMM. Great looking build so far! -
If you haven't seen the new photos that came out yesterday, here you go: http://www.ew.com/gallery/rogue-one-first-look-photos I like the commando stormtroopers appearance but I don't see how practical that armor would be in an amphibious environment. Looks like it would be hard to swim in. The Deathtroopers look really cool but not sure why they are trying so hard to rip off sandtroopers with the MP40 pouches. I guess the final thing that bothers me is everyone for the most part is getting pauldrons too. Seems like the only thing us sandtroopers have left is sand lol. Also, it appears from those close ups, the TK armor we've seen before is not just stunt outfits. They all appear to be the same and look terrible IMO. I'm sure they are way more comfortable than current TKs and TDs but appearance wise, that's a big fail. The general star wars fans will not notice these differences but we all can.

Ugh, if only I had the money right now or I would jump on an RS in a heartbeat. Congratulations on voting to secure your nation though! Can only hope us Americans do so in November too!

Foam lining inside your Armor

As far as breath-ability goes, you can't beat the EZ-Dri foam I posted above. -

Awesome! Now you need to get started on a pack! -
I guess I have a big head, no way I could do that even turning the bucket sideways.

Gotcha.... speaking of colors, have you looked into plastidip and even taillight tint spray? I'll be your guinea pig -

I feel like if someone used a different material it wouldn't be a big deal. It doesn't matter to me as long as it's functional. There's nothing wrong with competition. If that was the case, Evil Boy would be the only guy here allowed to sell fan kits. Your current fan kit is basically identical with the exception that you offer several varieties on how to power it. I don't see anything wrong. Shoot, you offer a SHA after someone else had already been providing them too. People buy both, I chose yours because I liked the setup more. if there's a void in the market someone should step in. I don't think it's fair to the community to let someone corner the market especially when they have let everyone know that they have to put that on the back burner for now. It's been since February and we all understand life and other commitments come first. No one is mad at Echo. I just think there should be more options. If someone wants to PM me and avoid any drama that can offer a mount, that's fine too. It's getting hot and I lack all the tools and time to create my own at the moment. -
Has anyone considered doing a run of fan brackets now that Echo has been extremely busy with work? I don't think it'll be a big deal since several people sell various fan setups already. I really just want a bracket so I can mount fans, switches, and hide my wires behind. I attempted to make my own out of acrylic but I lack all the tools to make a really nice one. If someone is willing to do a run of these or even one offs that would be awesome!

Nice! I have the smaller husky and I lined mine with a SW fleece

I just picked up a sheet of acrylic. Did you add any foam to the back to keep the fans from vibratating? -
zv288bot's AP ANH stunt build! Whoop Whoop!

Paint that ABS kidney slide black so if for some reason there is a gap, it'll blend in with your cover strip. -
Let's see if they wear tanker boots too
-
Either way having more costumes to drool over is always a good thing regardless what detachment they end up falling under!
-
Makes sense since the US Army has tankers in cavalry units. But going by that reasoning, scout troopers would also be in the detachment too. Source: I spent 8 years in an airborne cavalry squadron

I'm 5'5 and a Police Officer with the MEPD detachment. There's guys and gals much shorter than us who have been approved so don't let it discourage you. WTF makes some great stuff so read as much as you can in your 6 week waiting time. -
Pyrates and the March to EIB & Centurion
Airborne Trooper replied to Pyrates's topic in ANH Build Threads
I think it looks cleaner to be able to extend the notch to be flush with the butt plate. I'll be doing this on my sandtrooper since I use shims.
