  1. You might be able to polish the color out of those snaps. I believe I saw on here somewhere, someone did it. If not, you will need to replace them. When in doubt, look at source material and other's builds.
  2. Yeah, heat is heat. It take a little longer to get it malleable though
  3. Well I have been on his list since February but who knows how many there are in front of me. If you manage to get some in, I definitely want one for our setup. I'm begging the wife to let me buy a Glowforge laser engraver this Summer. Figured I can start selling box tags and some others that tend to take a long time if you order elsewhere.
  4. For the biceps, make a bigger INNER strip and please make sure you're only using E6000 as you may want to make changes down the road if your arms get skinnier. Then make an outer cover strip that's as close to original size as you can without looking silly. Obviously, if you need a lot more room, you don't want a huge inner strip with an outer strip that is barely covering the seems. If you need a cover strip that's 20mm or whatever instead of 15mm, that's fine. Just keep it in the back and not the front.
  5. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a quote from an auto body shop. Probably would be a fun project for them and they should be able to paint match it. If it's fiberglass, ABS paste isn't going to look right. I don't know a lot about FO TK but from my understanding, most guys used spray paint to paint their kits, whereas some more ambitious troopers like ukswrath, had a auto body shop paint theirs.
  6. The bumpy texture is what's screen accurate and IMHO looks the best. If you want uber sterile, go Anovos or wait until Rogue One TKs are made. The general public and fans will not know the difference. You'll probably only get up close reviews or questions on armor from places like maker's fairs.
  7. Now we just need Echo to get back in the saddle and start slinging fan kits or at least the brackets!
  8. I love my pencap510 garter belt. Now finish and submit for approval so you can get your race shirt! You'll kick yourself in the butt if you have to wait another year.
  9. Perfect, thanks! I've only come across bulky ones or with a right angle.
  10. Where did you get your fuse holder from? All the ones I've seen look completely different.
  11. I don't think I'll be able to add the cable into the connector. I'll have to order this: http://www.amazon.com/Antigravity-Batteries-AG-MSA-10-Clampless-Starting/dp/B00QI3KOTA/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1462198466&sr=1-2-fkmr0&keywords=Antigravity+MS-3+clampless+starting+harness
  12. Giving 24 hours for ABS paste to dry is a good rule to follow. If you don't let it cure long enough, it'll look hard on the outside and as soon as you start sanding you'll regret it. Almost sponge like after the top layer.
  13. I honestly don't think my arms are "swoll" but apparently they are bigger than a Britt from the mid 70's. Start off removing some return edge little by little. I ended up taking mine all off on the biceps and forearms. If you still need more space. Remove the rear cover strip, Put it back on but gap the armor. Meaning, you won't go all the way to the edge of the ridge. This will give you a little more room but still use the 15mm cover strip. If you need a lot more room you'll have to use a larger cover strip, just always try to keep the front the standard cover strip and only increase the rears if need be.
  14. Perfect arm placement, right above the elbow and right below
  15. The only snaps you need to be concerned with color wise, is the ones showing from the outside. All internal ones can be whatever color your heart desires. No one will see the inside of your kit when suited up. Fill those holes and seems with ABS paste. Try to apply it on as smoothly as possible and then sand it smooth. It may take a few applications but it's worth it in the end. Then wet sand and polish it.
  16. Following Tony's build will be a huge aid but make sure you always check things fit before making a cut. Tony is a skinny guy so just double check things. As far as shims go, they are not hard and the great thing is you can always trim them down or eventually remove them all together. It takes some time to do right but it's worth it in the end.
  17. You can't even tell that's a sticker. Nice work!
  18. Numbers come from 501st. Only the TD, TK, TX, SL, etc. are detachment identifiers. You could always open up the counter and set it to whatever you want.
  19. Here's to a speedy recovery and the ability to get back in armor!
  20. I got around to cracking open that jumper cable brick and there's almost no cable on the black lead before touching the board. On top of that, the solder was so thick and my iron couldn't cut through it. I will have to order different cables that Antigravity sells.
  21. A little warm water bath can reshape armor Just read some of the various builds and you'll see what other troopers have done.
