  1. This is awesome! I totally agree that it would make a great poster if they were all done together. It is so something I would buy or have made if you make your total composite pic available to share. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
  2. Not sure what you have went ahead with but, 1. I would went with eastbay.com for undersuit, same quality as UA but cheaper 2. Yes you will need some industrial strength white velcro for back of calves 3. You will need more than 4 clamps, I suggest the multi-size clamps bag from walmart. Less than $10 and you will need different sizes for different pieces 4. I started to use the E6000 but due to the wait time you might want to change. I went with the Locktite for plastic, you just have to make sure you rough up both contact sides well before applying. After about 30 min you can remove the clamps, with E6000 you have to wait hours to the next day before removing the clamps. Those are just my suggestions, as I just did my first 2 troops with my ATA. 2 parades back to back, and the only problem I had was as I was walking into the parking lot after the second parade, the snap plate on one of my thighs popped. I think that was one of the E6000 plates too. Any other questions feel free to PM me.
  3. Looks good so far.
  4. TK 7392 reporting for duty! http://www.501st.com/members/searchresults.php
  5. Just sent in my approval pics, I'm finally done!
  6. Check out eastbay.com, their stuff is same quality as under armor but much cheaper.
  7. doesn't matter which end is up until you trim. Top should have a small return edge just like any of the other return edges. The bottom you should leave a little bit more of one, maybe 1/2 in, this keeps the butt plate from sliding under it. So once you have them trimmed to that then you know which way is up and you will know which is the left side for the 3 rivets.
  8. Looks good to me. I agree with what Brian said and it looks like your cover strips on the back of your thighs go past the end of the armor. This might cause a poking problem more than a looks problem.
  9. You need to use a strip of plastic, ABS or for sale sign across the strap so that it is the strip that is sticking to the armor. Make sure you rough up the armor site and the plastic strip. FYI: the Loctite brand of glue for plastics works awesome. Just make sure adhering sides of whatever you are sticking together are roughed up good.
  10. Progress was made! Only minor details left: ab buttons, hand guards, few snaps here and there...
  11. I can only speak about ATA, as that is the kit I am building now. It is very good quality, brillant shiny white and very sturdy. Trimming is the biggest pain in the butt, although it sounds like you have to trim either set. Price and a couple of recommendations by others that I feel very well versed/experts is why I went with ATA. Down the road if I decide to do another trooper, dirty or shadow, I will def order from ATA again.
  12. for now the stripes are what they are. trooperbay said the ESB stripes only come with the whole set and i'm not going to pay for another set just to raise them up. one day i will but for now they stay.
  13. No drill hole in sign piece then put the two pieces of snaps together with the sign piece in the middle. Then glue to the armor. The back of the snap makes the sign piece sit a little off of the armor but with the thickness of the glue, you just clamp and let set.
  14. You should make snap plates for all your snaps. Your sides are the only places that rivets are used with the snaps, all others should just be glued on with the snap plates.
  15. proper size is the 1/8 but don't know about the short part. You are talking about the left side correct? the snap goes on the inside and only the rivet should show on the outside. You also need to put some plastic, i.e. a thick for sale sign, against the armor, then the washer, then the snap piece. Also you should have drilled a 1/8 hole in the armor. If it is the right side, where the back of the snap shows, then someone else will have to weigh in on recommendations.
  16. I have seen a few mentions but most people complain about the cost and weight.
  17. Good job, but... You put the resin t-tracks on the wrong sides. They are slightly different lengths, the long one is suppose to go on the left side and cover all the holes, the shorter goes on the right side and is not suppose to cover the last hole towards the barrel end. That's just nit picking though. Again good job!
  18. Yeah, I think so too. I didn't put either on, my buddy did. Paint I can probably get off but the stripes will have to stay. Don't want to try and remove them or buy new ones.
  19. I know it's not, but in the close ups the texture on the gray looks like duct tape. Good luck with your fine tuning.
