  1. Got a good amount of trimming done today. Nothing like the smell of dremeled ABS!
  2. i dont want to mess up anyone's team, i just want to play. if you get or know more people to make another team that would be cool thanks!
  3. Rusty we should have done a Makaze team. I posted on the boards that I want to play so if anyone else needs a team mate for droid hunt let me know.
  4. I have heard they are having a problem with getting the leather for the boots and were trying to find another source.
  5. i have a conversion and if you do the little extras on it they look really good. for the riggers of everyday trooping i think that is the best option. in case something happens you are out the least amount of money.
  6. the only pieces you really need to tape fit are arms and legs. the other pieces you really can go ahead and strap together in the verticle. if you look at pics your pieces should "lay" on top of the next piece at certain points. to attach front to back you will need help holding things in place to get the right length of strap. you will still probably have to adjust a couple of times after you have it together, we all do. good luck
  7. good luck! when in doubt on anything, take a pic and post to get advice.
  8. I have not but I have had the same issue with other sellers. I was told that until pp knows the item was delivered the funds will not officially transfer. When my wife sold a phone through ebay, pp showed that the seller had payed but didn't release the funds to her until item was marked received.
  9. Trust us, once you get approved all your concerns and questions will go away. Good luck on your build!
  10. Are they butt seamed with cover strips? If they are you will have to take them apart, shim them (add armor between the pieces to make them bigger), then put on new cover strip. Only do this on the back sides so that the front sides still look accurate. This is the biggest problem buying someone else's armor, especially if they are smaller than you. Good luck!
  11. Just fyi, the wand on the dremel makes life a lot easier. Good luck!
  12. I wear the same size as you and got the 11's. I put inserts in them and wear thick socks and still have room in them. I am glad I didn't get the 12's cause they would fall off. Just my opinion and observation.
  13. 1. I would recommend attaching you biceps to your shoulder bells. This will keep them from turning, as they are in your pics, and will keep the shoulderbell overlapping the bicep as it should do. You probably need to get rid of a little more of the return edge on the shouderbells where they lay against the biceps. 2. Like stated you need to trim the back piece on the sides just like ur going to do on the chest piece. 3. As far as your chest/shoulder strap problem, it is because your chest piece is riding up too high. Without seeing it in person, I can only assume it is do to the way you attached the strap to the chest and back plates.
  14. score and snapping works best on long straight pieces. you can do it on shorter, curved areas but you need to cut relief cuts every inch or so. what you said you did is always good practice as well.
  15. looks ok. you will probably have to get rid of a little more of the return edge on the bottom. After you cut see how it lines up with the shin and then you will see if it needs to be trimmed more.
  16. you need to cut at least 2 in off the sides of your chest plate, otherwise looking good.
  17. the only thing I see, and it's probably just something I prefer, is your back doesn't overlap you kidney. Not sure if it is a requirement without looking but I just think it looks better if it overlaps. In the pics it all looks good to me besides that. Good job and congrats.
  18. I riveted my snaps onto the ab plate with a small scrap piece of armor as a spacer to make a tight fit. Saves from worrying about that.
  19. It is not required but does help with the weight of the holster. You can do it the way you stated or with the velcro. If you do it the way you stated you kinda need to do it the opposite way you stated. I did it that way and ended up having to cut one of the snaps off cause one fell on a high part of armor and the other in a valley and you could not snap both at the same time. I would recommend putting snaps on the high parts of the armor then marking where they would match up with the belt, or just do like above and use velcro.
  20. how are they being held up? the strap that is holding them just needs to be pushed in more towards your center. about your back, i have straps from kidney to back plate. helps hold lower part up and keep back plate in place. if you have your belt tight enough it won't sag in the back. you might need to put a snap or velcro in the front to keep it in place though. looking good!
  21. This is what I recommend to all new recruits or anyone wanting a new undersuit. They hold up very well and don't fade after, last count, 24 washes. The sale comes and goes frequently but the regular price is still better than UA.
  22. the ears are different! there are left and right ones make sure you put them on the right sides
  23. 2 things 1- why did you use webbing for snap plates? will they hold as well as plastic? i ask, because i havent seen this before and i am curious. 2- you will want to put a healthy bead of e6000 over the rivets on the back of the belt. they rub your belly armor and scratch it up. nice work so far!
  24. are you clam shelling these or putting them together with cover strips? I recommend cover strips and you should leave 7.5mm on each side. If it is big you just put some foam inside. The ridge just below your black line is where you measure the 7.5mm from. This way when they are butt joined together there will be 15mm and that is the size of you arm coverstrips. The legs are done the same way just 10mm on each side to equal 20mm. The back of the shins clamshell and that is where you would use white velcro. Measure and cut the front of the thighs and leave the back. Once the front is put together then you can size for the back. You might need to leave more than 10mm on each side but still use a 20mm coverstrip.
