  1. Do the pieces have a plastic film on the outside? Pretty sure only his ABS has the film.
  2. if you are using the cover strip method of assembly make sure you cut the correct lines, especially on the front strips.
  3. He isn't looking for ROTJ in particular. This is something he has had, not knowing or looking to join the 501st when he got it. He now wants to join and was showing what he has.
  4. Sad to say but Brian is right. You would be way better off selling that set and getting a new set. I strongly recommend ATA for the best budget.
  5. Can I voice an opinion? I personally don't like the 501st approved section combined. Can we return that one and combine the non-501st instead? I would think more of us and new folks use the approved section more than the non-approved. Just my opinion, thanks.
  6. Unless it specifically states "no return edge" then you can leave one. It should be only 1/8-1/4in wide though. Inside means towards your body and the forarms should have no return edge. Like sskunky said you will find that in your initial build that you leave what looks good but then you have to trim due to it biting. Good luck and always post pics if you are not sure.
  7. I have one question: In reading the new requirements it states no strap on shoulder bell and if present not going over the bicep. In the pic above the requirements, which I thought was an accurate pic, it clearly shows the straps over the bicep. Is the wording correct or the pic? thanks
  8. It looks like you might need to trim a little more off the shoulder bell return edge where they lay against the bicep. There should be a very small, if any edge. Looking great and you will be trooping before long.
  9. First, great build! Second, I must say I love your story and attitude with whole Jack thing. Keep up the great work.
  10. Congrats Dash! Thanks Paul for what you have done for TK's everywhere.
  11. Looks great, Congrats! Just a suggestion, you need to clean up the cover strips on the back of the thighs.
  12. Eastbay.com has good stuff way cheaper then UA. Just get their compression stuff.
  13. they actually should have been mounted with the outside rivets, so get it as close as you can.
  14. There really should be no gap but if it is a small gap it should be covered by the belt.
  15. Here at Wally World it is a mix of all 3 movies as far as look. When I went up and actually handled the armor it was very thin, my guess is HIPS, stuff. From a distance it looks ok but up close . As someone else stated it has to fit all kinds of different people, not a suit for each person that plays the role. And while they are only in it for a few minutes each time, several times a day, I'm sure they go through it pretty quick just because of the abuse it gets.
  16. 1. yes 2. yes, measure 45mm for side of last box and cut then on top and bottom mark 12mm from end and cut at 45 degree angle
  17. def need a trim. it shouldn't go back down after the curve in (if that makes since).
  18. Looks good. Hard to tell but in the side pic it looks like you didn't trim enough off of the bottom. Need bigger and brighter pics to tell for sure. Other than that looks purdy!
  19. I know they are not suppose to have one at all but I had never seen a conversion done where they cut the hasbro one off. All the conversion threads I looked at just didn't add the doopy one. I agree if you can do the bondo work it looks sweet, sadly I don't have those skills and will upgrade one day with full resin kit.
  20. First one doesn't look good, second one looks really sweet. If you can do bondo, I can't, then it can turn out good. I would suggest if you are going to that extent then you do all the other extra mods. hollow out scope rail put real hex heads in the barrel end cut lower t-track and drill new holes drill holes in fake expansion stock also make sure you put the correct t-tracks that come with kit on the correct side. One is shorter then the other and you leave the end hole open on one side (look at thread to see which side). good luck!
  21. I hate to tell you this but on the conversion you don't cut off the counter, you just don't add the one in the conversion kit. I really don't know how you are going to correct that hole. You also don't put on the cylinders. Here is my build: -----------
  22. I thought they were the same as the Imperial Navy helmet just painted white. Rebel legion would be the best place to look/ask.
  23. Ears look good. Personally I think your brow is still too high, but that it is just me.
