  1. Realizing, of course, Vern's "2 cents" is worth its weight in gold! i.e. He makes some GOOD points!!
  2. Here ya go bro... Common Acronyms And welcome!!
  3. They're GREAT for clamping for sure (I also do what Vern does... "old schoolin' it") but I also use 'em to hold little notes and scraps of paper on my computer screen and keep my iPhone on my belt.
  4. And I'm not laughing "AT" you here. Just remembering how it is to start out and how you really don't know anything! We were all there bro, and asking questions is the only way to learn!
  5. Haha... you really need to read some more! I'll put it this way... if people can get FX armor kits to pass 501st, ATA will be no problem at all.
  6. You're basically my height and weight exactly and TE2 fits me like a living glove! No shimming or anything. ATA is based on the TE lineage so it should do very well. But, my advice is KEEP reading and researching to make sure you know what you want. You may have already done that, but it's better to be anxious because you're dying to get it than sorry you rushed. Ask yourself — if you haven't already — how important are these things to you? Price Material (HIPS vs. ABS) Accuracy (screen vs. idealized) Availability (sooner now or possibly better later) Lineage Read the links in my signature for more info too... but, yes, assuming ATA is similar to TE2 — which I've heard it is — it should fit you great.
  7. And of course we need: Fro = YES / NO
  8. Haha... no problem. I answered quickly before looking closely at the pictures. Just making sure you knew that tidbit though. I didn't for a long time. Interested to hear form some of the "hand plate" experts.
  9. You know there are different hand plates for hero and stunt... right? Is that part of what you're seeing?
  10. ----------
  11. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Annnnnnd agreed (but 3 years). ESB is still my next white though. But this is amazing!!!!
  12. I doubt that... It's not see through.
  13. That is SOOO true!! Once I have my TE2 armor on it's fine! It's getting it on and packing it away when I've cracked it. Of course it's a TD so the small cracks are fixed up and it just makes it "more authentic." I can't WAIT to order my set of TM armor! Going ESB with it for sure too!
  14. This is interesting for sure. I've never seen an AP next to my TE2, but I'm curious to know if there really is a difference (visually noticeable difference) in the heights, or if it's mostly assembly of the buckets. I suppose since most of the TE2 buckets I've seen are sandtroopers with the very high brow I think that makes it look taller... but I don't know. Interesting question.
  15. Bondo is what most people use. I used the Squadron MMD Putty from hobby supply stores (like model train hobby supply stores... not Hobby Lobby...) And you can get the Zap glues (if you need them) from ----
  16. I don't have a TK right now — will again soon though — but I love being sandy!! Well... not really... but we'll let it slide. Yes, fans LOVE the sandtrooper! I get compliments every single time we troop. People seem to want more pictures with me than they do with all the other troopers. Or they'll "call me aside" to get a picture with just me after taking a group shot. Or me and Boba Fett, etc., etc. Maybe it's because I'm the "odd one" of the group. I don't know. But they love it. And yeah, I can wear my pack all day and be fine. It's not heavy really at all. Just have to watch if I'm in tight places. So I am looking forward to having a TK again because they are "easier" to dress in. But the TD is my love for sure. There's just something about it that screams "real stormtrooper!"
  17. That's what I would do. ------------
  18. Also, nothing beats a great pair of legs.
  19. Yeah... what everyone is posting as 'weathering' is more like 'wear and tear' and that is AWESOME for a TK! "Weathering" to me is DIRT and SAND. Of course I've probably had my head in the sand for too long.
  20. ---- And battle damage to the HWT.
  21. This must be a climate / humidity issue. I'm in the high east mountains of New Mexico and can leave E-6000 for months on end and it's still nice and runny every time I use it. I go through a lot of it, but if I cap it off each time I'll end up cutting the tube open to scrape out the last bit before tossing it out.
