  1. Yeah, I can't blame our ncs on this too much. Even if they spotted the pickpocket (pickholster?) I wouldn't have expected them to confront them. Security had been alerted thru out the park well before the end of the game, and I was hoping that someone would notice a drunk fan walking around with a British WWII submachine gun...but no.
  2. Thx all. Yes and I know exactly when it happened...right at the very end of a five hour troop which was actually going very well...lots of fun. You know how it goes: group after group of photos, little kid after little kid, one after the other after the other...and then a quick break. So I slide the gun into the holster to give my arm a rest, and just then four drunk guys throw their arms around me from behind and spin me toward a camera...lots of yelling...flash...and they're gone. And that's when it happened. It was literally just before I walked back to the changing room, and as I'm walking to the elevator the security guard jokingly says, hey, where's your gun? And I say, it's right her-- and tap on my now empty holster. I was f-ing pissed. Thx very much for the tips and info.
  3. Hey all Well last night I had a great troop going at our Detroit Tigers SW night, until someone stole my hyperfirm e11 out of my holster and ran off. Can't tell you how bummed I am on so many levels...not cool. It's been a while since I've been in the prop market and I'm wondering as to the best route to replace it. Are there hyperfirms out there being made any more? Is there a better option? Any suggestions, tips, condolences, etc welcomed. Thx Scott
  4. I'd definitely encourage you to avoid Rubies and to build your own. It's pretty darn rewarding! As an aside, did I hear you say SDS doesn't come assembled anymore? Did not know that.
  5. I used aluminum, 3/16" for my holster attachment, only cuz the straps were a bit thick.
  6. Thought I'd share this... A little over a month ago we were bored on a Saturday morning and made a silly video of our dog eating with her "hands." Well, what started as a way to kill 40 minutes on a Saturday has gone utterly viral. It's been CNN's viral video of the day, in the top ten viral videos by the Guardian (UK) and was even tweeted about by Wes Craven (the horror movie director)! Behold the wonder (and the silliness) of "Breakfast at Ginger's" TK side note...look down far enough to find our first video posted... you will see me in my very first, home-made TK suit with my FX bucket =)
  7. Way to go T. You da man!
  8. Great stuff! Thanks for posting Peter & Jez! Never get tired of looking at these.
  9. Fantastic book, Brian! Enjoyable read. Your talents are amazing!! Those coats-of-arms....wow. Thanks again (and thanks for the nice caption credit on that last pic!!! WooooHOOOO!!!!) Scott PS want to add how nice it was to be able to match a face to the famous Liz Moore.
  10. As I was toying with my Stormtrooper dashboard buddy the other day I got to wondering if the voice-over actors for any of the stormies in ANH have ever been credited or identified? If anyone knows please share. I'd love to put a face to the dude who said "The Death Star plans are not in the main computer."
  11. Fantastic. Thanks again Brian. Love the pic!
  12. Well I had my first troop in my fantastic new troopersupplies TK boots, with one unforeseen issue. Unlike my Caboots, my new TK boots had a little problem. If i bent my knee forward enough, the back of the boot would force the shin pieces to ride up until **POP** out the back they came. Once that happened the shin piece was impossible to shove down and back over the boot tops. So...I devised this easy fix and it works like a charm. Onto the existing pull loops on the boot, I attached small D-rings. Attached to the d-rings I placed a short length of 1" elastic with a snap. Then I simply attached a snap to the inside of the shin in the right spot, and bam, problem solved. When I place the shin piece around my calf I simply reach in and snap the elastic strap. Now when I bend my knee forward the shin piece is gently held in check and the back of the boot never reaches the bottom edge of the shin piece. For whatever reason this never happened with my Caboots, probably because the leather is so darn nice and supple on my new boots. Hope this helps if anyone has the same issue (although I've never heard of this before!) Scott
  13. I also like how you can see a spent shell casing from the Sterling gun near his elbow.
