  1. just go for EIB Then it becomes your rank Or you can upgrade to Centurion You get pretty ribbons Plus all the cool kids are doing it
  2. LOL sorry about the wait! Forgot to post here back in September Proud to be 1 of the 300
  3. It is ABS I never did a thread on it It's pretty simple though, as I said I'll write a tutorial though anyway But first I have 3 troop reports to do for this weekend just gone So not tonight The shim could be cut down if needed (I should probably take some off my right side, looking at my EIB pics)
  4. That means a lot coming from you Mathias I'll still never pass Centurion on your watch though LOL
  5. There are some troopers around the 5'1" mark in my squad Either FX or AM can be made to fit Obviously ditch the horrendous FX bucket It would look super huge on a smaller trooper
  6. Thanks guys! The Centurion requirements at the time said shims were cool, but must be seamless It seemed the proper way to me
  7. BREATHE THROUGH THE NOSE
  8. I'm surprised noone mentioned If you're doing ANH or ESB style, cover strips are the way to go But Overlap is correct for RotJ
  9. hey I just checked the CRL Gloss ain't a requirement dawg Go nuts I say If anyone kicks up a stink, you can always polish it back to gloss anyways Or spray on a gloss overcoat
  10. ------------- This pic shows it quite well There's a bit of a line there, it's invisible in most light Lucky the flash didn't go off
  11. Seriously, if you hook up with your local troops, you should be able to do some events before then My buddy Logan rocks a biker scout and a jawa, he's been trooping (with the 501st, but as a GA member) for about 3 years He turned 18 and got his numbers like a month ago You could totally also do this
  12. AP is very nice, their helmets are quite popular in particular People have suggested ATA because it's an awesome cheap/entry level kit (that can still be taken to super accuracy) people suggested RS because it's the absolute most accurate ANH/ESB kit there is Mark suggested CfO because he makes and sells it LOL (nah but seriously, CfO is the ultimate RotJ kit, top shelf stuff) The choice is yours in the end
  13. Rather than putting the extra piece of plastic onto the kidney and bogging it up to make the transition smoother Use an inner shim (as per cover strip construction) Then just fill in the seam It's way smoother I'll try and find a decent pic of my sides and see what Mathias thinks of them Btw yes skinny guy with side shims it's a silly story
  14. I used velcro on mine Interested to see how this idea works As Paul pointed out, the onscreen guys pretty much all used gaffer, which is a lol
  15. you can even link to photos from Failbook (I do this because I hate the mobile Photobucket) Just a thought, you might get more movement if you use a chin strap (at least side to side) Forces the lid to follow your head The other day I wasn't using mine and noticed that nodding to people wasn't working
  16. Totally not Jabob can sit down on the floor, and his kidney and butt aren't seperate I think the key is having enough movement in your legs I can sit cross-legged like a schoolkid in my kit But I'm not really sure how I just do it
  17. I hear you can make a working spring to fit the Doopy's full resin kit by twirling a coat hanger around a broomstick Haven't tried it myself
  18. I would think some tiny baby T-tracks would be a must Scope rail and scope of some sort The M-38 would probably look huge on this thing M-19 is maybe the most authentic option But I'd lean toward a Tasco, because it's non-canon anyways and real 4x20s are cheap as chips and then I guess add power cylinders and/or Hengstler if you're doing it ANH I've got some ESB Stunt greeblies (concrete clip and three bumps) that would make a nice Empire version But argh That muzzle Sure you could just use a Mk4 (maybe mod it a little, cut off the bayonet disc at least) But it would be so good to have those distinctive parts
  19. wait, what!? ESB were black too?? FFFUUUUUU
  20. Does anyone have (or know where to get) resin castings of the muzzle and cocking handle of the Mk7? (I think the back cap is different, too) It would be great fun to make a greeblied-up replica of one (non-canon, I know, but super awesome) The rest of the parts seem to be close enough to the Mk4 parts, but the knurled muzzle is very distinctive For those not familiar:
  21. these are great I only see the reflection of my eye when I look in my scope They'd have to be much smaller to go in an M-19 Which saddens me
  22. Not sure if there's really much to go on from what behind-the-scenes photos are available
  23. So I got this cheap crappy water pistol from Star Easy Shop (man, that place is awesome) Then I sprayed it with some undercoat (I used Killrust etch primer, that stuff rocks and actually sticks to plastic which is crazy for a paint) Then some satin black (I used cheap Squirts brand, had it left over from my E-11) Then started attacking it with some Humbrols (gold and bronze here) Then I went totally nuts on it, ended up using copper, silver, gunmetal, and matte black for the detailing and more gold & bronze obviously Still a few little touches to go, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. The reservoir shall be filled with glowstick fluid As such, this one has been modded to no longer fire and the trigger has been removed.
  24. You must understand, John here has freakish skills with a sealing iron I showed him how to bend a piece of scrap plastic like once 5 minutes later the dude is doing sweet neat return edges better than I could with weeks of practice Also high-risk is the Valley Trooper way.
  25. Nice! The change in shape is huge, in my opinion. Great work!
