  1. perhaps just take the O2 can faceplate into the store when you buy the pipe, and see what it fits onto nicest
  2. perhaps the guy doesn't actually have the kit in hand, and is just asking about his options
  3. lol I free float my right one 'cause the strap went missing ages ago Mind, I'm ESB, so I probably should totally free-float my arms PS- Kevin dude, you're doing a RotJ, aren't you? I don't even know how their arms were done
  4. Hmmm, blaster master! Vern, you seek Vern! But you may have to wait a little while He's working on it, I believe
  5. ouch! It could be worth asking Paul for advice on that While I've done a whole bunch of crack repairs on my kit, it's just glossy ABS- I've never worked with capped stuff Br00tal!
  6. nice! Is it the 1.5mm glossy ABS, or the 2mm acrylic-capped? Paul was saying just recently that the glossy is much more flexible and can have a bigger edge, while the capped is much more prone to cracking
  7. I think it was varied on the movie suits There might be some good reference shots in the LFL archive pics What make is the kit you're working on?
  8. further update: So as it turns out, the peroxide in glowstick fluid actually eats through plastic over time So don't leave that stuff sitting in there for long periods LOL whoops So I think I might paint that reservoir after all...
  9. I think I kinda got there in the end, I just did it in a roundabout way I dig that the straps are in the same spot And that the biceps free-float I say "hidden" because they don't stick out the way they did in ANH It's where the biceps sit that hides them Are there any good pics from the film that show them? (with the biceps sitting higher)
  10. You have options Juno Eclipse! Admiral Daala! Random female officer! Hot Imperial ladiez! No buckets! But ANH Leia is nice Wait, no she isn't.
  11. dude, you totally don't have to spend extra to go for EIB or Centurion- So long as you do it from the get-go I'm a great example of what not to do, check this out: ATA are one of the cheapest kits around, and great quality (though there are nicer) I got an FX kit (read as: crap kit) and had to replace the helmet to go Expert Now my kit was cheaper than an ATA, But after replacing the lid, the total cost was greater Anyhow if you're short on cash, ATA is probably your best option Downside is their waiting list ('cause they're very popular) But the upside to that is that it gives you more time to research
  12. you have come to the right place buddy This area of the forum is going to be full of wonder for you, young Padawan Also screenshots They are the ULTIMATE reference A ? for you: When you say you want to get your suit to ESB standard, Are you meaning Empire Strikes Back style, or the Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) award? Or both? (I'm going to suggest going for both, I totally did) In fact if you're picky, you should aim for Centurion level accuracy or above
  13. yeah man they just aren't there on mobilenets One day I'll get to a computer... Then we'll have a side shimming tute to add to the pile...
  14. and you'd win! She's now informed me that she does not want to be Rebel Scum Maybe I should suggest Juno? Daala? I think she's being unreasonable
  15. Mathias is the guy you gotta impress to get EIB or Cent., it's up to him, ultimately As Paul said, the straps should be there they should be hidden, though This pic is worth a million words, stare at it until your eyes burn Note especially how low the biceps are sitting
  16. Paul is right on here And he truly is an expert Just in case you didn't know The TM brand name in your suit stands for TrooperMaster Paul here is TrooperMaster (it's not just a clever name he picked)
  17. all you guys waiting to troop- GET OUT THERE AND WRANGLE! It is 80% as fun as trooping, plus you get to be awesome and helpful to the troops Then when future you drops your O2 can on the floor while in full kit, you will feel karma smile as a wrangler picks it up for you
  18. Right you are, they are allowed so long as they're not visible you could always glue it back in, but higher up so it isn't showing I'm guessing there is no strap directly connecting the shoulder bell to the bicep thusly: That's how I keep mine in check Works a treat, though I'm 99% certain the movie suits didn't have them (biceps were fully free-floating)
  19. besides being not as accurate as the shop makes them out to be, the Rubies kit is also well-known for its flimsiness
  20. that was the whole point of the joke! *facepalm* Anyhow Sorry everybody
  21. seriously though, Isotons? WTH Star Trek? Iso = Greek prefix for 1 Is an isoton 1 ton?? Why not just say a ton?! At least Star Wars uses real units LOL parsecs
  22. that's completely untrue They use made-up nonsense gibberish units Wait SI is made-up nonsense gibberish My bad Carry on
  23. I gotta rage about something every now and again I'm not called Furious for nothing What's funny about this is that Australia went decimal like 17 years before I was born I still prefer Imperial terms Rebel Metric Scum
