  1. I heard you can go blind if you do it too much. From the glare, y'know? In space, noone can hear you polish your helmet...
  2. Oh yes indeed. I let them all have a go of mine, I've never had any of those sorts of troubles. I tend to be happy-go-lucky with these sort of things... *shrugs* Best excuse ever.
  3. I let kids hold mine all the time, but I use a strict procedure to ensure against mishaps. Giving: 1. When handing your blaster to someone, offer them the grip while holding the T-tracks. 2. Show them where to put their other hand (under the stock/ around the tracks). 3. DO NOT LET GO UNTIL THEY ARE HOLDING PROPERLY WITH BOTH HANDS. Receiving: 1. Grasp firmly around the T-tracks immediately, don't snatch it, but don't be hesitant. 2. If you grasp from above, they won't let go as quick because they aren't sure if you're holding it yet. BTW kids love it when you show them how to hold it properly, it adds to the experience. Always give them a "Yeah, that's the way you do it!" or "You're a natural, have you ever thought about joining the Empire?" once they have a proper grip.
  4. This is quite true, and +1 on getting a TM Hero lid. If you are going to convert though, be sure to flatten out the bump under the right eye, and contact John Danter for 3 bump ears and bubbly lenses.
  5. Do you use white or clear? I've not tried the clear. Be good to know if both work... I'm sure clear is cheaper.
  6. He talks a lot, and he also says a lot (hopefully that makes sense for the non-native English speakers). Keep up the good work, Mathias!
  7. I use T-cut (the white pigmented, not the clear stuff), works a treat for me. Some of my armour parts were mismatched for colour, and after polishing a bunch of times they all look the same white.
  8. I'll do what I can to help you in the search for visuals, I'd like to see these guys happen...
  9. There actually are references to TK Medics in the EU (they wear blue pauldrons). If you can find 3 visual references (from different sources), and get a blue pauldron, you can be the first.
  10. +1 to that. Thogh if you're really concerned over fragility, it is one advantage of Doopy's pipe kits over the full-resin ones.
  11. That might depend what kit you got. Mine did, but they were hilarious (and said to use velcro to put it all together LOL) But no matter if yours didn't- you've come to the right place. -----------
  12. You shouldn't feel bad- this thread is about good blasters for newbies- yours might well be the best candidate here. (feel free to be jealous that you missed out on the fun of building it, though )
  13. I believe it's Lord Vader's personal anime-style mecha-suit. For those times when he feels like punching X-wings instead of shooting them from his TIE fighter. Take note George Lucas: When you're making the Blu-Ray Special Edition (with MORE changes than ever before!), please include a scene where Vader uses this to land on Hoth, and stomps his way into Echo Base while swatting snowspeeders like mosquitos. Also it should have a giant lightsaber, but only use it for the final duel against Luke's wooden mech (built by the Ewoks). Obviously this fight will take place on the outer surface of the Death Star II, with Luke arriving by riding on the back of the giant space-slug from ESB.
  14. Karin, start at middle right, look inward about an inch. It's half-hidden in a hole of sorts. I really don't want to 'spoiler' it for you (it's so much funnier if you see it without knowing what it is in advance), but if you still don't see it, I will tell you exactly what to look for.
  15. And I toally forgot to mention this. The Executor studio model: Right side of the picture. When you see it... LOL
  16. Love the name of that site. Some people were trying to identify background ships in ESB, came up with this: Must have floated a long way from Bespin...
  17. Short TKs are a good thing. They make Vaders look MASSIVE. All Vader's personal guards should always be the shortest guys in the room.
  18. Black-inside buckets are really good if you don't use a balaclava. You know how visible skin ruins a TK? (everyone, yeah?) And you know how small children tend to be, well, small? And you know what angle they tend to look at us from...
  19. YES! No wonder we could never find the droid we were looking for- little bugger was in a different universe! I've never been able to spot the Enterprise in Coruscant, though. I'm not even sure which episode it was in (I think it was TPM)
  20. According to what I heard, the parts from the cube could have come from literally any kit- it was apparently completely made from the snap-out trays that the bits come on. I see a vision of the future, with screencaps and much squinting of eyes... Of course you know R2 actually appeared in 'Trek '09, yeah?
  21. It is! Cheesy, slightly campy, and super-optimistic! I love that about it. I'd be willing to wait for season 2 though. For hi-def, I mostly want to see the Borg cube in all its glory- ugly as hell, but the thing is practically pure greeblies in cube form... the DETAIL
  22. Painting the inside of the helmet shouldn't make a difference to people seeing through the lenses (might depend on your lenses, though), but it makes a MASSIVE difference to people* seeing skin under the bucket if you don't use a balaclava. It also makes a difference to the feel of wearing the helmet- swapping from a painted to unpainted (or vice versa) after being used to the other is like, "wow, this is dark/bright" That's been my experience, anyhow. No idea on batteries/fans, I never use them. I find just moving around gets enough airflow to keep from boiling in there (remember that trick for when your batteries die). *- very short young people
  23. How is the Blu-Ray conversion? I've been wondering if it'd be worth getting... I was just discussing early TNG on another forum yesterday, and someone made a good point- it ages well, because it's so optimistic (and optimism always ages better than cynicism).
