  1. yeah but it was raining and the library is about a kilometer's walk away maybe it'll be sunny tomorrow
  2. I'd recommend you only use velcro for the back of the shim (that's not an EIB thing, it just looks bad if the whole kit is velcro'ed together) Yes overlap will pass EI (I am an example of this) Though for ANH/ESB you should do cover strips (they will soon be a requirement for Centurion) RotJ is meant to be overlap construction
  3. br00tal! Maybe try wetting the area you're cleaning, then rub the powder onto it?
  4. I find you get maximum movement by trimming the top of the thigh and front of the ankle (I can sit down on the floor cross-legged in my kit) -------- Notches at the back stop armour bites, but they affect the look of the legs Ditto to wearing the thighs high
  5. I had this problem too, bro Make some laundry powder into paste Rub on until stain disappears, then rinse off and let dry Worked for me
  6. och aye it's like an orange on a toothpick I'm going to have to go watch that movie now, I hope you guys realise
  7. on an older Nokia using Opera to browse I click the import button and it refreshes the page, but doesn't upload I mean come on man I got this pic back in April or so This is so unfair I was all prepared for the change and I can't update my pic (sniff, sob, first world problems)
  8. yesterday I had a PM notification appear for a second, then disappear I'm on a older Nokia using Opera as my browser
  9. keep in mind the vote already went through to grandfather the FX So if your kit isn't finished by the next CRL update, it will need replacing As an owner of an Ebay FX kit, I can tell you that they are bantha poodoo Someone asked for A/B photos? How about these My kit upon assembly 12 months and a bunch of replacement parts later So yeah, you can make them look good (lol I'm so sexy I could make a potato sack look good if I was wearing it) But just in case you don't feel like having to buy new bits and mod the hell out of your suit, I'd avoid these, because they are craptacular No matter what any of the older guys who love FX kits say The fact remains Small children will laugh at your stupid giant head if you wear FX
  10. mine made it all the way to Australia intact So did Spectre's So there is some chance it could arrive okay
  11. you're kidding right? Bespin TKs had the most beat up suits of all! (probably all that Tantive IV damage + 3 years in storage) Gaffer tape on every shoulder bridge lol Never too marked up for ESB If I get any dirtier, I'll probably be not-so-politely redirected to the MEPD (seriously, my greaves and boots probably would pass basic for TD right now but not TK) And Jabob is ESB His suit was pretty hammered after 5000km Bits of it were still fresher than the film suits I think
  12. pretty sure they used Humbrol on the movie helmets It can be a bad idea to use replicas as a reference They're not always 100%
  13. Sweet! Nice to see you 'upgraded' to ESB (serious, we're the best because the Empire actually wins an our movie lol) I'd love to make myself convertible to ANH Hero, if I had the money Convertible TKs are for the win! Looking forward to seeing your EIB app! I'd wish you good luck, but I doubt you'll need any
  14. update: Finished, with some fluid And in the dark I also slapped an O-ring around the nozzle, because it looks way better that way
  15. ah Just try to find a piece of other plastic that is as close as possible I guess My shim was not an exact match But you can't really tell (especially not if I twirl my arms like this LOL I've watched Nemo too many times) Using white T-cut makes mismatched pieces eventually match better (as they whiten) Also having your kit be totally dirty and weathered helps too I guess
  16. I'd go for straight ones They'd be easy enough to scratch make (can anyone grab some measurements so we can make a template for these? Vern??) The curved are prettier, true But it's a RotJ blaster It's not even about super accuracy It's that all the things which make it different make it special My §0.02, anyhow
  17. I thought the photo of all the ESB boys sitting on the stairs showed no lower straps (or they were high up enough not to be visible) I could be mistaken though LOL had to rip those off of my kit to in for EIB, I'll be Furious if I have to put them back on
  18. that's a fair call there, Paul It would be nice to have proof either way Black or white We really shouldn't be building on assumptions (it could be just as easily assumed that the strapping was re-done for ESB as we know the straps across the bicep were no longer used) Plus Ozzel said he wanted proof, not leads Edit: just having a closer look at this pic Is that a bit of white strap showing on the outside of the bridge (and disappearing under the shoulder bell) on his right side? Sorry I can't circle it, I'm on mobilenets
  19. I totally agree It's kind of funny though- You can get Cent. without the detail there at all Awards aside, once you know it's backwards you wouldn't want to leave it that way (well I wouldn't anyhow) Otherwise OCD senses would start tingling Lying awake at night with everyone's display pictures orbiting your head saying "I think it goes the other way" "the arrow pointing to the front" "I don't think it will pass Centurion" Over and over Like in the Simpsons
  20. Currently the only Centurion requirement for an E-11 is that it not be a Hasbro And there is no requirement anywhere regarding the mag end detail IIRC this was discussed a few months back, but nothing came of it So this should not stop you going for Centurion But I'd totally want to put it the right way around anyway
  21. good to hear! If you check out screenshots, you'll note that the chest and back don't really close at the sides There's a sort of keyhole shape going on
