  1. Hope that was O.T. and you get paided for the extra hours! [i sure do miss my OT days!] Were you eating Easter Dinner before or after working on your armor? I'd say work BEFORE eating. We'll keep watching.
  2. Hi Ingrid! I gotta follow this topic b/c I'm having lots of thigh issues, myself. I think I'll try moving my garter straps like everybody was saying so the thighs rotate outward more. Yah... everybody goes back and adjusts non-stop! My drop boxes won't lay all the way flat... not sure there's a good fix for that? I think your cod looks good. [insert perverted joke here...] I'm still waiting on a new one - which I'm NOT trimming! Where your thighs and cod meet at the top, do they pinch your skin? Or is it more just a clanking together thing that doesn't hurt? [i've got parts that clank together and don't hurt.] Course, I've got my knee area where it does hurt.. so I'm trimming that. I can only get my dang thigh pieces so high up, and then they just won't budge anymore. I think I have to live with having more black showing than I'd like. I'll be interested in your ideas / changes! And, it's not vanity... it's our never-ending need to represent the 501st to the best of our abilities!!!! Rock on with your bad self! Jenny
  3. Hi Sherry! Very glad you decided to start a TK build. WELCOME and CONGRATS! Looks like there's not much to add since I'm late to the party. I hate that!!! All of us had the same concerns you are having - about fitting a chick into a dude's armor. The chest piece shouldn't be a problem; you might need a compression top. Ingrid is SO silly - we like to fight all the time. Just kidding!!! She has awesomely DETAILED instructions so she's got the way better build thread. I started getting impatient and just posted pics without much rhyme or reason on my build thread. She's not manly at all, but when she has her armor on nobody can tell her gender... which means she did the build spot-on. My advise is to give yourself room in your armor and use padding on the inside so that your armor isn't flopping around. I made my armor a bit too tight, and now I'm correcting "armor bites." I'm also getting a new piece to replace one that I cut way too much. So, the good news is - ANYTHING is fixable so there's no need to worry about messing a part up. There's ways to modify any piece, or if you get lazy like me... just order a replacement!!! The bad part is telling your hubby that you are spending more $$$. I have the AP armor and trimmed the tops of the thighs, the bottom of the shins, the forearms near the elbow, and that was all that needed some extra trimming. My hands should be stronger after all that trimming! I SHOULD have left myself more room in the biceps, forearms, and thighs... but I'll know for my next build. I'm 5'4" ... and I'd LIKE to weigh 130!!! [Doing the Shawn T insanity. I hate him.] Best thing to do is what you are doing... read lots and ask questions if you cannot find something after doing a search. Can't wait to see your progress. Cheers! Jenny

  12. Practice your Trooper Walk, practice posing for pics, practice the Trooper moonwalk. I might have made up that last one. Oh, did anybody mention that you can read? haaaa haaa haaa haaaaaaa, ahhhh haaaaaaa haaaaaaa.... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee........
  13. We'll just have to make recordings of deep sounding males voices like how Arnold did with the french dude in True Lies. Couse, with my luck, I'd have the wrong responses and scare all the little kids away!
  14. Is that girl Julie? :) She has about every fem version of armor I can think of. I like the pics!
  15. Congrats TK 4399! Looking good.
  16. Hang in there Shawn! It can be frustrating at times, but you'll get it all figured out and have an awesome set of armor when it's all said and done. I try to NOT think of how much $$$ / time / effort I wasted on my own mistakes. [sighhhhh...] Hope your armor gets in soon!
  17. Nice AT-AT, Chuck! Congratulations
  18. I got mine from Trooperbay, and i think it is good. My bucket sits low on my head, so it's not seen much at all.
