jnnfr72 replied to bjsavage7's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status

Found some interesting stuff here.... http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=17213&hl=%2Brotj+%2Bbuild&fromsearch=1

Hi, not sure if this helps.... but if you keep reading down the whole thread, they talk about ROTJ Thermal Det..... But, ya might need to keep looking. I still need to finish my TD, but it's ANH, not RoTJ. Good luck! ----------- Not sure about the ab replacement buttons... Somebody else will chime in though!

Almost finished with new ATA Armor
jnnfr72 replied to TK-7980's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Wooo Hooo, ALEX! Yea!!! I think it's lookin' awesome, but Stormtrooper ALWAYS look awesome to me! :leia: I think your build all depends on you. I'm sure you've seen this site, but here it is again: http://www.whitearmor.net/fisd/Crl I'm too new to be able to spot which style you are going for, or if you need to have a style. Right now, I'm concentrated on the ANH - Stunt style, so that's about all I can make guesses on... I did notice your ammo belt might be more comfortable with a heat bend. You can use a hair dryer, or hot water, but - once again, it's toltally up to you. I like that part about the FISD. You cvan go nuts and fret and worry - not that THAT is bad, or you can build it and then go TROOPING!!! I strayed again... here's one of several good sites for the belt: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8757 For me, I like this site because it tells you what you need for each level you want to achieve: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt This is for A New Hope Stunt, but if you are looking for ROTJ or ESB, look on the forums main page, on the left under Film Canon CRL's. Anyway, CONGRATS! Looks good!!! -
Howdy Dan, I had a whole paragraph of the places I look for EI info, then accidentally hit the back button and lost it. Crap! haaa haaa... But, I'm on your plan too.... It's my 1st build and I wanted to go for EI from the start just like you... for the same reasons. Not too sure I've saved any money... :leia: I seem to keep buying this or that for my build, but I love it, when I can afford it. I like the Tips n Tricks sections, looking at everybody else's build sections, reading the questions people have, and I'm constantly looking at this: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Are you going to do a new hope? That site is for a new hope - stunt.. but I'm sure you know there are all the versions in that area. I found it on the forums home page, to the left side. When you finally do get your box you'll probably have that same excitement you did as a kid at birthdays or Christmas. That part is really fun. Be sure to share the joy with everybody here, too! Congrats on your purchase!!! Take care, Jenny

Hey Dan. I got AP armor with the helmet and the helmet fits me, but not my hubby. He has a larger head... not sure the exact size. He's 6'4" - 215lbs. I'm not that big. I know you can enlarge the helmet somewhat, but be careful and ask about dimensions if you go with an AP bucket. I plan on getting my husband RT-Mod.... since he has a big 'ol head! I'm sure you will make an awesome set of armor. Jenny

Congrats on your new bucket. Whatcha getting?

Hey Jill! Glad to see some more girls here. There are alot more than I thought there would be. I like Stukatrooper and PandaTrooper's build threads. Of course, there are lots and lots of awesome build threads to get good ideas on molding the armor to your body. You are gonna do great, I just know it!!! Congrats, Jenny

TK5389 Requesting ANH-Hero EIB Status[182]
jnnfr72 replied to The Phantom's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Looks awesome, Steve! I am going for the EIB status, too - hopefully by the end of this month. -
My hubby called me at work, and said my bucket is back from it's trip to Cali. TK Mike put it together, hand painted it - installed my squirrely fans, too! I guess the post office beat the living daylights out of the package, even though it has "fragile" and "handle with care" written all over it. Greg looked it over and said it's fine, though. Sheeeeeeeeeeeew...... I can't wait to get home and try it on. (Good thing I read from you all about turning it sideways to get it on.) Wait, WHAT!?!! I had the hubby turn the BUCKET sideways before getting it on. :leia:

TM 2011 ANH Stunt Kit a.k.a My First TK
jnnfr72 replied to TKmAx's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
A most AWESOME (and may I say beautiful) set of armour! I'm trying to get there myself. Well done! -
Hi Bond, yep - I've used velcro, but need to move my cover strips on the shins over - to hide the velcro. I had some questions on my build. Are there any suggestions on how to round the knee battery? Do I need to cut off some extra length from each side of the knee battery? Any thoughts on the RIVETS ... size / where they are sold? How much should the Left Thigh cover strip cover? I'm wondering about covering the flared edge by the knee. Thanks for helping me with my issues - errr, I mean "opportunities at growth"!

ROTJ Bunker scene - different boots?
jnnfr72 replied to matt black's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Is that what you call "EMO"????? -
haaa haaa... ok, ok. The hubby hollers from time to time when I email pictures. But, I will risk it. Today I did some heat - bending and added an inner shim to one of the thighs. I've been trimming the top of the thighs down. I think I will be able to make this back of thigh match up. Cover strips and inner shims will help. I checked on my N35 magnets. I have 12 ordered, and they should have been here 3 days ago, but the US Mail lost them. The seller was nice, and is sending them again. Right now I only have 1 pair of good magnets. I haven't started on chest - back - butt - or kidney plates yet.
-
Yes and yes. I was talking about where the outer and inner thigh meet at the bottom - and that WOULD fix my problem. I'll plan on doing the inner and outer shim - then add the covering strip. And, sadly, my neighbors already think I'm weird.... but I'm so gonna WOW them with my AWESOME armor this Halloween! They'll give ME candy!!! haaa haaa... I'm gonna check out Sarah and look for pix. Thanks for the advice, it will help me bunches.
-
Yarr, my cell phone has a camera... but I didn't buy the cord that lets me download pix. I guess i could email them to myself, then load them that way. I never thought about doing that. haaaa haaaa.... I'm glad you guys / girls are there to help me out!
