  1. --------- The Legion is a-changing and maybe not for the better. That's a much bigger conversation to be had amongst a smaller group of people. -Eric
  2. I see. So the issue is that I was stupid enough to put something too subjective as "1/3 the width." GMLs these days bring out their vernier calipers to ensure anything called out in the CRL with a measurement is correct. The local GML system has too many flaws and the current GML culture cannot be loosened up. That means the onus is on the dets to go out of their way to write their CRLs to be picky and strict GML proof. I will let the LMO that I'm changing that CRL wording because GMLs will not display the sense enough to allow a little leeway in their approvals. -Eric
  3. Does someone have a photo of the boots that someone is saying aren't approvable? -Eric
  4. I think I deleted most of the multiple posts. That sometimes happens when you're on a slow connection. Not sure why it did for those folks this time. Like Ralf said... Not to be a dick... this hobby isn't exactly suited for anyone on a budget. Even an officer could run you a lot once you find the right boots for it. There are lots of other options besides Anovos out there for a TK but you're still going to spend cash on it no matter what you do. -Eric
  5. Take a look at the reference galleries for snap placement. Measurements may not work since RT is bigger than most armor. I always leave the shoulder bridge glueing to last to get the right placement. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My suggestion is to compare the costume requirement pages: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:FISD_CRL That may be a good way to see the differences. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yep. I gave her text. I intend to hack it up in the next day or do. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Please arrive March 1... please arrive March 1.. .please arrive March 1. I will post web stats about a month or so after the first wave hits. Their has already been a huge uptick in site usage this winter. It was already on the rise since Celebration. -Eric
  11. 2051 replies to this topic. I need to go look and see if this is the most responded to thread. 2051 posts of... so very little. I love you guys/gals. And I am terrified for the day that people start receiving their kits. Our poor web server! -Eric
  12. Referencing screen used suits is the best way to go for this stuff rather than people's build threads. The photo references menu item at the top of your screen is where to find them. Here are the three key ones: And here is a photo of the front of a thigh from one of them: I wouldn't modify much of anything until you get into the suit and maybe troop a little. if I understand your issue you may need to put kidney/butt elastic on the extreme ends of your butt plate. But please don't heat anything up yet. The on screen TK's belts went across their kidney. Our RT suits end up kinda splitting the differences between the kidney and butt if not a lot on the butt. That's just how things line up. You can play with some velcro on the belt and at the top of the butt plate to see if you lock everything in place. That's what I did at least, but I don't have a flaring an impolite person problem. Absolutely. The biggest reason to do it is for repeatability. It's nice when your forearms end up in the same place every time. For me that is critical so I avoid armor bites on either end of the forearm when it is strapped and sitting happy. Or having it slide up toward my elbow and my glove pops out. Most annoying. The screen used straps were offset and 2" wide (I like 1.5" myself): Check out this link for strapping sizes, colors etc. Bookmark it! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26477-what-we-know-about-strapping-snaps-rivets-etc/ To get a better blaster shot at the chicken. Yes! The CRL says the forearms must be closed it does not say they need to be glued. That item in there isn't about screen accuracy it was about all the people with FX armor who had big open slits on their forearms. Just be sure to use the thinnest velcro you can find so no one can see it. I had to buy a few different brands before I found one that worked. -Eric

  19. Nope. I've done quite a few holsters like this for every type of blaster but a real sterling. And my holster is heavy (thanks Gaz) too. I don't know how many troops I have with snaps but it's maybe 3 years worth. Use tandy snaps not dritz and you'll be fine. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I wonder if we could install a new editor on this version of ipb. To the todo list! -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. For me chicago screws are a total pain in the an impolite person having to screw them on and stuff. They are also too big a diameter IMHO on the outside of the belt. Also the canvas will not hold up to the chicago screws spinning around and wear over time. I do not recommend them for a holster. What I do recommend is riveting snaps onto the belt. They're much more durable and repeatable than chicago screws with a bonus: more accurate. Here is how the UKG guys do it: I did it a little differently on the belt: Belt front where you can see which direction I went in with the pop rivet: Belt backside: Snaps on holster straps. -Eric
  22. ^this Also Clamps does a cool thing with his: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/29342-chest-mount-for-the-aker/?p=374147 -Eric
  23. Truth. Or just use the more accurate lighter colored ones The CRL is vague when it says they must "obscure your eyes". Heh. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yep. See above. That is where mine sits. -Eric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
