  1. looking forward to watching your build
  2. I have two fans attached to the bolts of the aerators run by a 9v battery. What you cant see is the battery boxes which I have mounted on either side by the ears and the small amp is velcroed in the top of the helmet, which is also run by a 9v. Seem to be working great for me, this is an AP helmet so I had limited space to work with. It is a little snug to get on and off, but feels really comfortable when its on. Since taking this picture I have added screens to the fans for obvious reasons lol ------------
  3. My 10c (if its worth that much lol) if you bring your back plate up so it sits on top of you kidney plate instead of overlapping that will bring your chest plate down in front a little and align everything up nicely. I am no expert but I think that would line everything up a little better. The belt could come up a little in front should be right at the bottom of the ab plates touching them and your sniper plate has slipped under your thigh, try padding out the back of the thigh and front of the top of the shine. Apart from that looking good. Good luck with your application.
  4. I would align from the top as the knee ammo belt will cover the bottom up just fine
  5. I used the riveted snap on mine too, it makes it really easy to put on or take of the holster when needed.
  6. Congrats
  7. That is some nice looking shinny white armor good luck with the build and have fun with it.
  8. NICE JOB! welcome to the ranks
  9. There can only be one lol. The idea is to have one signature for both legions when I finish my imperial officer I will add that too to balance it out I'm about 90% done with it so will soon be submitting that app. For approval
  10. I just got my EIB approval. Woohoo now I can use my new signature I made.
  11. Finally have pictures from my first troop in armor before I got my 501st clearance. this was a fun night. I am the TK to the right on the first photo and the left on the second one.
  12. I think I will try making a garter to hold these thighs in place better and replace the elastic with a nylon strap too. The elastic attached to the torso worked OK, but I think a garter will work better. I am also going to use the TK radio chatter from the 501st forums on the small MP3 player/speaker I have that I use in my Rebel Pilot helmet. I have velcroed the MP3 player/speaker into the inside of the chest plate and it seems to sounds great. not to loud but loud enough to be effective.
  13. OK I am painting the blue buttons with the correct blue I will take another picture of them installed when they are dry. I also shortened the straps on the bells to bring in the bells closer to the shoulder straps. The straps are elastic so should pull in nicely. UPDATE:- Paint dry and have reinstalled the buttons.
  14. Thanks Mark OK Here is a picture of my plates before installing them. As you can see the correct colors were used. It must of been the lighting used during the photo shoot that washed out the colors in the photos. And as you can see from this thread the midnight blue is the acceptable traditional color for the ab buttons. http://www.whitearmo...eference-guide/
  15. I also put my gloves on first then my forearms seems easier that way for me
  16. Thanks Glen. just in time I have another troop this Saturday and then another next sunday.....
  17. Thanks everyone The ab buttons are from Vader Dave and are the correct colors ( I added that part to the list at the beginning now) as for the belt there are three snaps, one in the middle and one on either side, I am guessing the one on the holster side either popped or was not fastened correctly during this photo shoot. From reading the criteria for EIB approval I am pretty sure everything is covered, but that is up to the EIB judges to decide. Thanks for everyones in put, I for sure am going to look at opening the gap between the thighs and the shins for ease of mobility I will also look at shorting the straps for the shoulder bells, but it says nothing about that gap in the EIB criteria?
  18. Thanks guys now for EIB fingers crossed.

  21. I woke up and checked my emails this morning and............. Now to get those mods done today so I can do my first official 501st Troop on Saturday. Very excitting stuff. Now to get my EIB application in
  22. I snap my thighs to my torso seems to work nice for me. I know a ton of photos were taken just don't know where they will be posted.
  23. Thanks Sam, it was a lot of fun and now I know what works and what didn't lol. With out a ddoubtI will be trimming more out of the back of the knees on the thighs for mmobilityand comfort. The torso felt great, so its just those pesky thighs again. I think I will add a second snap to the torso where the thighs snap in, one is not enough and they popped a few times, which let the thighs drop. I really thought these thighs had given me enough trouble putting them together, but nooooo lol.
