  1. WoW nice turn out, you guys were rocking it down there. Great job and great report, thanks for sharing
  2. Finally have pictures from my first troop in armor before I got my 501st clearance. this was a fun night. I am the TK to the right on the first photo and the left on the second one.
  3. thats looks like a load of fun, great job guys
  4. I think I will try making a garter to hold these thighs in place better and replace the elastic with a nylon strap too. The elastic attached to the torso worked OK, but I think a garter will work better. I am also going to use the TK radio chatter from the 501st forums on the small MP3 player/speaker I have that I use in my Rebel Pilot helmet. I have velcroed the MP3 player/speaker into the inside of the chest plate and it seems to sounds great. not to loud but loud enough to be effective.
  5. OK I am painting the blue buttons with the correct blue I will take another picture of them installed when they are dry. I also shortened the straps on the bells to bring in the bells closer to the shoulder straps. The straps are elastic so should pull in nicely. UPDATE:- Paint dry and have reinstalled the buttons.
  6. Thanks Mark OK Here is a picture of my plates before installing them. As you can see the correct colors were used. It must of been the lighting used during the photo shoot that washed out the colors in the photos. And as you can see from this thread the midnight blue is the acceptable traditional color for the ab buttons. http://www.whitearmo...eference-guide/
  7. I also put my gloves on first then my forearms seems easier that way for me
  8. Thanks Glen. just in time I have another troop this Saturday and then another next sunday.....
  9. Thanks everyone The ab buttons are from Vader Dave and are the correct colors ( I added that part to the list at the beginning now) as for the belt there are three snaps, one in the middle and one on either side, I am guessing the one on the holster side either popped or was not fastened correctly during this photo shoot. From reading the criteria for EIB approval I am pretty sure everything is covered, but that is up to the EIB judges to decide. Thanks for everyones in put, I for sure am going to look at opening the gap between the thighs and the shins for ease of mobility I will also look at shorting the straps for the shoulder bells, but it says nothing about that gap in the EIB criteria?

  12. I woke up and checked my emails this morning and............. Now to get those mods done today so I can do my first official 501st Troop on Saturday. Very excitting stuff. Now to get my EIB application in
  13. I snap my thighs to my torso seems to work nice for me. I know a ton of photos were taken just don't know where they will be posted.
  14. Thanks Sam, it was a lot of fun and now I know what works and what didn't lol. With out a ddoubtI will be trimming more out of the back of the knees on the thighs for mmobilityand comfort. The torso felt great, so its just those pesky thighs again. I think I will add a second snap to the torso where the thighs snap in, one is not enough and they popped a few times, which let the thighs drop. I really thought these thighs had given me enough trouble putting them together, but nooooo lol.

  16. Well I survived my first TK troop and only drew a little blood. I for sure need to trim more out of the back of the right thigh knee oche. All in all the armor held up great and I had a fantastic time. I will need to make a few adjustments before the parade on Saturday night though.
  17. Thanks Sam, I am gonna try to stop by a Home Depot and pick up one of those Job Boxes on the way there I am hoping some one brings a camera
  18. I trimmed the back of my thighs too, made a big difference for this short troopers mobility I may even consider trimming a little more, see how it goes on my first troop.
  19. WoW I hot glued the foam on the bottom inside of the thighs and what a difference, they feel more secure and line up nice too. I have a nice tube I store my armor in, but have come to realize that it is gonna be a pain in the a very impolite person caring it any distance. May have to consider a different storage/transportation idea.
  20. Thanks guys, this will be my first troop in armor so should be interesting. This will be an uunofficial Legion troop for me, as I am not officiallycleared, but have been given permission to do this troop. I am excited to see how it all goes the first time out in armor. I then have a night parade troop on Saturday I think I will wear my TK to, I was going to wear my Jedi
  21. I may have to just hot glue it in for now and look at Velcro at a later date.
  22. OK have my first troop this Wednesday night and I wanted to straighten up the bottom of the left thigh using foam on the inside to pad it out. I picked some AC seal foam from a hardware store I was going to use to pad out the bottom of the thighs. Do you think this stuff will work OK?
