  1. I can personally recommend ATA or AP. ATA is cheaper, but i think AP is a slightly better looking helmet(personal opinion)
  2. Wouldn't a little bigger indicate its recast?
  3. The biceps look identical so its no ATA. I agree the forearms are different, but the chest look a lot like AP. In either case, different is fine and expected.
  4. Yeah, rivets should be left side Also, you need hand painted or hand painted looking helmet details And, i cant tell if you have the correct S-shaped neck trim.
  5. What kind of armor is this? Most suits i think are different, at least the screen based ones. It looks like you have an AP suit?
  6. The canvas belt helps a lot too.
  7. Looking good. One thing i can see right off is you need to remove the shoulder decal and the sniper knee needs to be glued, not riveted on.
  8. Karin Those look excellent. Definitely EIB/CENT worthy! Good find! Hopefully the glue sticks as well.
  9. Make sure they arent the thin, disposable exam gloves Karin. Those would last about 5 mins trooping!
  10. Rubber gloves are required for SWAT on MEPD. The correct rubber gloves can be purchased at Home depot or any other hardware store. They have textured finger tips. You may be able to get a similar black glove in Nitrile if you are allergic to latex. Nitrile gloves are generally a latex replacement, just not sure if they are offered in black.
  11. If you have the ability, using a torch while bending helps you get a tighter bend. But, you have to be very careful doing this. Also, a tip when bending aluminum cold: The slower you make the bend, the harder the metal in the bending area gets, making the force required to do a tight bend increase by about 4x over the course of a 90 degree bend. To combat this, once you have scored and started your bend, you should make the rest of the bend in one smooth motion for best results. This may take some practice. Using a torch, as i mentioned above will combat this hardening effect, but you have to be careful not to warp of oxidize the aluminum too badly.
  12. I sewed mine, but used the same stuff. It gave a less obtrusive seam.
  13. ATA armor is nice and affordable. The contact info is found in an above post link!
  14. I would recommend fixing the cracks with plastic backing, glue with either E-6000 or Plastic weld. Much stronger...the CA glue will crack itself since its soo brittle.
  15. If someone has the measurements needed to fit the doopydoos kit, i will make a prototype today.
  16. I could do them i think, though shipping might be kinda high. Let me see what it will entail cost wise Also, which tutorial are you referring to?
  17. Well Maybe i will try and put a cut template together in autocad tonight and see. Basically, i could just add different cut lines based on how tight the fit would be.
  18. Look at those black ab buttons!!!!!!
  19. The template would account for this.
  20. A template would probably be the most useful i would think. I.e trace these 5 styrene parts out, cut and glue. done.
  21. Def watching. As a former pro, gotta always watch this stuff.
  22. Well, at least he didnt make a thread asking a question that was answered with a sticky thread title in the very same subforum he posted in! I have some of those boxes...they are great. Fit my AP well
