  1. are you trying to upload a avatar ? the pic above your name? or post a image in a text box?
  2. that is because that refrence photo is quite old and was made before that was a requirement,, updating some aspects of the CRL's and visual references is going to be a top priority in the coming months great!
  3. to avoid confusion all old (outdated) EIB requirements have been archived. the current requirements can be found HERE NOTE: you must comply with all the base standards (in black text) and also EIB requirements (in blue text)
  4. a big buckets off to Paul for making the FISD what it is today!!! it has been an honor serving under you. now go take a good nap, and just think,,, now that you are no longer DL the keyboard companies stock will plummet
  5. a few times it has not worked for me unless i am viewing the main forum index.
  6. i just rough masked it around the detail then trimmed the fine edges it with an exacto knife, then applied the primer and paint. i did lightly score with a blade around some areas when removing the masking.
  7. yes, on second look i have to wonder if they were mismatched left right calf parts? and not on the wrong legs
  8. good point Sean this should be omitted from the CRL, i believe it was left from the original ROTJ requirements.. as for the knee detail, i would rather make this detail optional at this time (may have)
  9. like i said, i named it Phase 3. but its not necessarily going to be the permanent name.. i chose this because Stormtrooper armor (not ANH/ESB/ROTJ specific) is known by some as Phase III armor. just like the Kashyyyk trooper that appears to be a half-step between Phase II clone and Stormtrooper armor (phase 3) Remember that these troopers were seen many years before stormtroopers in ANH.. plus it sounded better that TFU trooper or EU trooper
  10. i never noticed the TKC style ear rank markings before Great work Corey!!
  11. sorry, i didn't get this one by email it looks like you made all the necessary fixes and in good time with that you are Approved! great work trooper congrats!!
  12. here is the concept art that comes with TFU2 the one thing unuiqe about this variant of TK is the option of weilding dual sabres this is one tough TK
  13. this trooper is seen in the videogame The Force Unleashed (part 1 and 2) it shares all the same armor attributes as the ICN and TKC, simply a plain white , it dosnt have a formal name so i dubbed it the PHASEIII trooper
  14. get on those 360deg references Corey ill make up the section. let me know if there is anything i can do to help
  15. by regular TFU TK i assume you mean this trooper ??? it shares all the same armor attributes as the ICN and TKC, simply a plain white EU trooper, i have considered this costume myself and actually named it the PHASEIII trooper. as of yet, this costume in not 501st approved but that doesn't mean you cant try to get 501st approval.. if this is the trooper you want to go with it would be a first in the legion if approved first off you need to meet all of the base requirements for the ICN/TKC (minus any paint flash details), and i would go for EIB requirements as well.. (your almost there) for that you need to make the helmet ANH (paint the frown gray ect..) and replace the ROTJ hand plates with ANH ones... i would also strongly recommend replacing your back plate and chest as well.. also your back plate needs to come up some to eliminate the overlap on the kidney plate. plus any other needed fixes. next you need to provide 360deg references from the game and take new submission photos... submit the references and photos to you GML as a new to the legion costume.. i cant say for sure it would be approved, but if not you would just need to add red to make an incinerator
  16. i have never used a electric sealing iron as i dont own one personally.. i have used a soldering iron and propane torch heated knife to form plastic. keeping you iron moving at all times should (in theory) prevent sticking.. it just takes longer. i am sure somebody with experience with this tool will chime in as well... i wouldn't use Pam or any chemical lubricant myself as the surface of the plastic will literally boil and likely cause discoloring. keep the iron moving at all times and apply minimal pressure.. JMHO
  17. lets keep on the topic at hand, this topic is not about ANH details in any respect.. it is about ESB helmets, the Constancy of the eye details therein and how they could effect the Centurion program.
  18. that link is for 501st detachment members only, as it pertains to a possible change to the Centurion program but feel free to add to this conversation..
  19. this is a great topic, and should be addressed. i am opening a discussion in the Detachment Only section to see if this will warrant a change/vote in the ESB requirements the new thread is HERE also it is fun to speculate on the reason why the ESB eyes shared this detail, it is my theory they trimmed out the eyes for a more practical reason. simply so troopers could see better ANH vision impairment
  20. Paul is correct in the fact that ANH helmets have an inconsistency on how the eyes are trimmed, some more like in ESB and some less (depending on who was trimming them at the time) and they did re-use ANH helmets and armor in ESB. but from what it appears to be, they were more consistent (trimmed out more) in ESB. take a look at starwarshelmets.com
  21. good question,, i dont think anyone has ever asked to make that detail a requirement as of yet. and i think it could be suggested (should have) for EIB and required for centurion in the future. but it would need to go to detachment vote it is a distinguishing detail to the ESB helmet and we will try to address that very soon.
  22. just an idea,, but you could try contacting somebody that makes acrylic fish tanks http://acrylicaquarium.co.uk/CustomerBuilds.aspx
  23. it is actually based on this weapon, and there pretty hard to find in the US Rexim Favor submachine gun (Switzerland / Spain) a modified version of this was also seen in the movie ALIEN
