  1. Ahem.. 1400+ (1080p) ANH screenshots: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/11-a-new-hope-detailed-screen-captures/?st=550
  2. Here's a TIE pilot anyway
  3. I haven't had time to find out if it was, but the x-wing itself certainly was.
  4. From the website Skyone linked: -----------
  5. AA worked on forming the helmets for sure. But that's all common knowledge. Nowhere is it proven that he had any influence at all in actually designing any helmets. Other than what he himself claims. But AA is a liar who's testimony was thrown out of court, so it's foolish to trust his account. And if Ralph McQuarrie was alive I think he would have something to say about the design of the TIE pilots. Besides, joining a TK hero faceplate with an X-wing helmet is no great feat, really.
  6. Not eally, but you can make out the locations if you look at pictures of the original armour: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/16-lucas-film-archives-joer/
  7. Both of them are pretty bad choices. eFX because it requires a lot of work to make it look good. And originalstormtrooper (SDS) is expensive, and not original either. What's your purpose, to keep it as a display, or to wear with armour?
  8. Just tie a knot making it a loop.

  10. Non-Canon events allows for some creativity, but if you wear your garrison logo, even as a removable window sticker, and so does the rest of your garrison, the problem remains the same. She'll just have to train her eyes on what you look like in armour. It's a skill that magically appears after a while. I can spot several of my garrison mates in armour without any of them wearing any identification. Btw, I think you will spend a lot less time in armour on celebration than you imagine. At least based on my experiences from CE2.
  11. Thankfully most garrisons have stopped putting decals or other identifying marks on their costumes. But unlike the big and borderline obnoxious decals used by others in the past, the UKG is very small and discreet. It's only 3 letters in aurebesh. It's also not only used on TK's. Secondly, it's a long running tradition and ceremony of entry into the club to get branded. Disallowing it would only result in photoshopped images in the EIB and centurion threads as well as pissing off the applicant. And lastly, unlike in the US or most of the world, the 501st isn't the only star wars costume club in the UK. So their decal serves as an identifier separating them from the other clubs. In other words, don't put decals on your armour.
  12. http://trooperbay.com/dark-green-lens-material/ Mount it the same way as your current lens material, but don't forget to cut out a notch around your nose or you'll hurt yourself.
  13. It should be noted that the UKG membership sticker is a bit of an exception, but you can consider them grandfathered if you like.
  14. Panda's templates used to be of a different measurement, but it clearly made the stripes too big, so the numbers were changed. The shape of the template itself was fine, it was just the scaling that was off.
  15. I wear mine in such a way that it slightly covers the lower half of the bottom buttons. I think it looks more accurate that way since most troopers you see in screen shots wear them the same way. Maybe it wasn't intentional that they wore the belts like that, but the fact is that the majority of them did. And the hero trooper from the Toy's 'r us promo you see above clearly has a snap come undone, or the belt wouldn't sit that far down. Which is obvious if you actually look at the picture. Does that mean I spent hours planning and measuring exactly where to put the snaps on the ab or belt to line them up perfectly? No, I certainly didn't. And I don't think anyone should either. Relax, and don't worry.
  16. This is a replica suit, but it's assembled the same way as the orignals, IE the elastic strap that goes from front to back never touches the ribbed plastic bridges, and the straps holding the shoulder bells are connected to these elastics with snaps.
  17. Nope. Hero and Stunt are basically the same costume.
  18. TM makes excellent hero helmets. Not sure if John Danter (in the above link) still makes his upgrade kits though.
  19. The thighs shipped with NE are actually of the older AM design, which aren't shaped to fit around the cod like the original thighs were. The TK on the front row, second from the left with the incorrectly assembled shin is a good example of how the thigh tops curve around the cod. In your case you will have to trim them to shape or just not wear them as high up the legs, but that in itself would also look a little wrong, although most people wear them like that.

  21. You should trim the flare off from the sides of the ab plate. As you can see here, there should be no flare like that:
  22. Ah, those "prototypes". It's been debated several times, and no doubt that they are old, but it's more likely they were made after ANH rather than before, as something AA did on his own and not related to the production.
