  2. Hi everyone, I am putting together my own holster for my ANH stunt build and in sourcing out some templates in the forums there appears to be two that pop up often (both Troopermaster's) but I can't seem to see that there is a consensus on which is right. There is little difference between the two...the most obvious being the 1-1/4" vs 1/2" measurement on the front piece each side of centre. I have a Hasbro Doopy's conversion...not sure if that is relevant or not.... So which set of measurements is the right set? This one?.... Or this one?.... Thanks!
  3. Possibly. Not sure at all where I came up with that. Just waiting now on some #2 Novus so I can polish and reapply the stripes....
  4. I'm glad we were able to help Matt out too! LOL . Thanks folks. I know I saw it somewhere, but the 'ol brain can't seem to make the connection as to where. I'm sure I'll run across it someday when I no longer need it. Until then I'll refer to your info, Terry and Glen. Tks!
  5. Hi folks, I remember seeing a post for a tutorial on the best way to get suited up into your armour, but I have hunted for hours through the forums and can no longer find it. Does anyone know if it still exists and where? Thanks!
  6. So, I must have been hovering over the E6000 too long. Panda's Tube stripe template tutorial clearly indicates 16mm. So where did I get 13/16" from....? Well, I recall seeing a build thread where someone had converted Panda's template image to a Word doc or PDF or something...that's where I saw the reference to 13/16". I can't find that particular thread now, but it's lurking somewhere in the bowels of the forums... probably below cell block 1138. Regardless, my apologies to Glen and to Pandatrooper! Lesson learned. Like my mom always said, never trust a strange build thread!
  7. Ok, so here is my question: how long should the tube stripes be? Pandatrooper's templet instructions say they should be sized to 13/16". Glen is suggesting above that they be 16mm, which is much shorter. Which one is the correct dimension?
  8. Agreed. I'll post updated pics once I get it back up to snuff. Thanks for all of your help!
  9. Well, the consensus seems to be to tighten up the black trim and nuke the stripes. So, I have scratched off the stripes this evening and sanded down to 1000 grit. Tomorrow night I'll clean and polish and hope fully by the weekend reapply new stripes in the proper scale. The trim I will redo at the end of the build.
  10. Thanks. Yes, they are about 20mm long, so about 25% too long I guess. The distance at the top of the tube to the top of the stripes is about 9mm. Am I looking at a complete redo of the stripes do you think? For the traps, I really prefer this look, but don't want it to torpedo a future EIB submission. Do you think my outlines risk it? Thanks!
  11. Hi folks, Been working on my TK build the past few months... NE armour and ATA bucket. Thanks to all of the great posts in these forums as well as the help from my local garrison I am making progress! I do have a few questions on my ATA bucket...particularly the paint scheme. I am looking to go for EIB status eventually, but I am by no means a purist (film cannon look is ok, but if I can get EIB status AND improve the aesthetics to more my taste I'd like to do that). So, first question: I used Pandatrooper's template for the tube stripes. Now, I scaled the printout as described, but I have a problem with the right side...the thirteenth stripe, the one closest to the mic tip actually sits a little on the curve between the tube and the front part of the face. The left is fine because with the ATA the left ear sits farther back along the tube, so there's more room for the thirteen stripes with some space left over. Will the right side affect my EIB status or do I have to remove that thirteenth stripe, and consequently to even it out, remove the same one on the left side? Second question: I did not really like the small thickness of the black trim around the front and rear traps in the traditional paint scheme I've seen. In this case I elected to go outside of canon and make the black outline a little thicker. I find it more to scale with the rest of the bucket. Would this pose a problem if I sought EIB status? Thanks everyone! Looking forward to hearing what kind of trouble I'm in (if any)!!!
  12. Never mind folks! I found my answer in the 'FISD Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) Requirements' forum. 7 t-tracks are currently ok for Hasbro conversions.
  13. Hi folks, In the middle of my Doopy's conversion of a Hasbro blaster. I realized in looking at the CRL today for a level 2 ANH TK Stunt that it asks for the removal of the 7th t-track....sort of. The exact wording is this: "If using the Hasbro E11 toy blaster and you cover all the rows of holes, the blaster will have 7 T-tracks total. But, if you want to have the correct number of T-tracks (6 total) with the lower row of open vent holes on the magazine housing side, then you shall cover the pre-existing rows of holes with T-tracks, and grind off the lower integrated T-track on the magazine housing side and drill a new row of holes in its place." So, my question comes in because of the 2nd line "But, IF YOU WANT to have..." Does this mean then that I can still achieve level 2 certification while leaving the 7th t-track on the blaster? Is the removal of the 7th t-track mandatory? I hope not because I have already stuck on all of the Doopy bits!! Thanks everyone!
