  1. Here's my lid, I used the recommended holes (that's what she said --------
  2. If you use the recommended drill marks you will get a very low, almost Hero brow. If you want some white between the eyes, use them as a reference, then adjust until you get the desired amount of space.
  3. There's really no substitute for experience. I would focus on the blaster and read up on build threads specific to your make of kit. The more research the better prepared you will be. When you get the kit, resist the urge to tackle something visible like the helmet or chest. Start with something small, like a bicep, it's mostly covered anyways, so if you mess up it won't be as noticeable Go slow, measure twice, cut once, don't rush and try not to get frustrated. Also, engage your local garrisson, most have members that are willing to help out "shine-jobs" like yourself Of course, the most important is engage the community here on the forum, we're here to help too.
  4. Yep, yep, E-6000 is awesome stuff and doesn't stink like cement does. Use painters tape for the test fittings and remember to measure twice and cut once! You may also want to invest in rare earth magnets (if you haven't already) they will make your life a million times easier. Good luck! Matt
  5. Congrats Boss, thanks for all the hard work you put in to making this the best forum in the Galaxy!
  6. Seems to me like he's been replying and doing the best he can. Like what was said previously, these guys aren't stores and everything gets slower over the holidays.
  7. Yes you're right, they do ship some things overseas, however, not usually completed blasters. I know they won't ship DLT-19's to Canada or the US because I tried to order one.
  8. They're good quality, if you do a search, there are a few builds. I don't think they ship outside of the UK though.
  9. Glad to see your getting some troops in Rob. When you comin south to hang out with your fellow canucks
  10. Romfx is the ultimate. The absolute best you can get. I've heard mixed reviews about the Trik toys.
  11. Brian, just got my book last night and it looks fantastic! I can't wait to tear into it Also, thanks for the signing and the best wishes, have a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday! Matt
  12. It depends on your build and what looks right. I'm a bit bigger dude so I made strips a bit bigger because my arms are bigger. AP has lots of extra space, so over trim and work your way down until you get a good fit.
  13. A quick fix for a body suit is the Walmart brand Under Armour. You can get both pants and a top for under $20.
  14. A little late to this party, but I found that if you drill a small hole first then use the cone shaped dremel grinding accessory (sorry don't remember the name, but it's a pretty standard piece) it's about the perfect size for the holes you need.
  15. I'll try to post some pics tonight, but I have two of tk 4261's in my bucket, right at the mouth. What I find the best with the Aker is cut the head portion off the mic and tape it right to the inside of the mouth. Also, Aker mic is unidirectional so make sure the white dot is facing your mouth. Should work fine, but if you're still getting some noise place the mics a little further away.
  16. Dude, you're wasting your time in gaming industry, got get a job at NASA
  17. The AP kit doesn't come with silver stickers for the detonator as it's not accurate, simply spray grey primer on the tube provided. It also does not come with foam for the helmet. Spend some time researching and see what other members did as there's some pretty cool ideas, from knee pads to safety helmet lining. As I have a big head and didn't need much, I simply got a sheet of 1.5" foam from the fabric store, it cost me $0.97.
  18. I must be the rare one, because I had no issue with this, just glue the fronts together and the backs will line up when you attach them with velcro. Remember, this kit is cast from an ROTJ suit and is designed to overlap, so make sure your cuts are accurate
  19. I don't sit down, it's just not screen accurate In all seriousness, I've never been able to sit in the thing. I just stand until I can't take it anymore then take a break.
  20. Mike's right, this is the case for most cons, although the $500 booth fee is worth the tens of thousands they make in sales
  21. Usually the attraction of having us at an event is payment enough, however, some event coordinators don't see that. Also, on the flip side, we are just geeks in costumes that do this for fun I remember hearing from the old dogs about the early days of fanexpo where we were like everyone else, changed in the parking lot and paid to get in the con. However, once the organizers saw the draw we brought, they quickly starting accomodating. If it is an event you would like to attend, I would simply pay entrance and watch the organizers faces as they see you get swarmed for photos. I would guess you wouldn't be paying next year My 2 cents
  22. As always Terry, you continue to push the envelope. Fantastic
  23. As Terry said, you don't "technically" need a heat gun. I didn't use one at all on my build and just used torque and rare earth magnets. Most parts already have return so unless you're doing some serious trimming you should be fine.
