  1. Congrats Tom, you've always given me great advice!
  2. I believe the decals the come with the AP are from TK 4510, are they not?
  3. From the man himself Thanks again Mark, really happy with the bucket and kit in general.
  4. The pic in my avatar is my bucket and I used the recommended drill holes. More pics of it can be found here: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9735
  5. It depends how screen accurate you want to be. I got a big grape (7 5/8's, or 23.5" around) and I just got my first lid which is an AP (which are said to be the smaller variety) so although it's a little tight going on, it fits just fine when it's in place and I'm VERY happy with it, cuz it looks GREAT. I found the larger lids out there weren't as screen accurate as I would like. My two cents
  6. Looking good Adam! I like the lighting in the pics. From what I'm gathering from the new AP builds (including my own) is that the suggested drill holes for AP buckets definitely make for a lower (or Hero) brow. Interesting.
  7. Hmm, interesting Tom, I never thought of shimming the front, but it might be an option. I think I would want to sacrifice more screen accuracy in the back, then in the front (Like the mullet mentality - business in the front, party in the back but it might not be a bad option.
  8. Hey guys, So I've trimmed the thigh pieces and I'm gonna have to shim the backs due to my tree trunk legs, lol (28.5" around, bigger than my gf's waist So I have a few questions. I was going to up the size of finishing strip on the fronts to 25mm or 30mm, but then I will still have a few inches at the back to close up. The AP finishing strips are about 45mm uncut and that might do it, but I was thinking if I flared out the top it might work a little better. For EIB status what is the verdict on shimming? and would a flared out finishing strip be acceptable? I've included a sketch in MS Paint (work computer, please forgive the crudeness, lol) to illustrate what I may have to do. Let me know your thoughts, recommendations. Thanks!!
  9. Thanks for the kudos guys! I probably will end up raising the brow, but I'll wait until I have my armour built before I go back and start fine-tuning things Cheers,
  10. Hey guys, So I've finished up my bucket (couldn't resist cracking into that first!) and after a few scary moments, I'm pretty happy with the result. Unsure if I'm content with the height of the brow, but I can always adjust that later. Mic's are keiths and I have the original AP film for the eyes, as soon as my lenses get here from Runnriot I'll swap them out. One note too for us big headed dudes, I have a big grape (7 1/2) and was worried about the fit. However, I have to say, despite it being a bit snug getting it on, once it's on I find there's lots of room and looks great. Anyways, here are the pics, have a look and critique/comments always welcome!
  11. I picked up an AP holster with my AP kit and I immediately regret it. The backing should be tanned leather not black, and yeah, I believe canon is unstitched on hte bottom. On another note, my hasbro won't fit without cutting the holster. So I will be upgrading once I get some more credits in the account.
  12. Hey guys, Well after 3 months of patiently waiting (well not so much patiently the UPS guy dropped off my AP kit today! I've been going over tutorials religiously over the past few months and even have Stuka's printed out and ready to go. The guys at the Canadian Garrison are having an armour party soon so in addition to you fine fellas, I think I have a pretty good support base for my first build. I'll keep you posted as best I can and will definitely be leveraging you guys for help. Thanks in advance,
  13. Looking good Bill! Are you planning on weathering? What did you use for the scope lens?
  14. Do you run fans? No? Which Hovi do you use? Keith's Hovi with the mini speakers built in? No? Is your Brow and neck trim accurate? No
  15. Yeah, that's definitely it guys, I did track down that thread on rpf and you're right Joey, it's definitely worth a read! @ Aiwei, now that you mention it, it does kind of look "FX-ish" I guess that would make sense considering it's probably the biggest out there and you would need the room to fit everything. So I guess the question would be, could one make a moderately "functional" version of this for trooping? I would think everything would have to be scaled down and go without the "optics" for the eyes.
  16. Thanks Joe! Will check it out for sure.
  17. Hey Guys, Sorry if this has been brought up somewhere else, but I did some searches and couldn't find anything. There's a pic in this book of the inside of what would be an "actual" Stormtrooper helmet (Sorry, no pic, but it's a pretty easy Google search) I also saw something like this in an MR model. Was just wondering if anyone has actually done it and if they have, did they troop in it, or was it just for show? Thanks!
  18. I remembered stumbling across this: ----- Hope it helps,
  19. Congrats Brian! Even though I've only been here a short time, I can tell that this is well deserved.
  20. I've caught the bug too, My AP kit is due to be delivered next week, yet I still find myself lingering on the clone forums getting ideas for what to do next . . .
  21. Wow, cool screenshots, I forgot that one searching the falcon had a BFG. Thanks Dennis and Paul for the help!
  22. Hey Dennis, Looking great! I have a question for you tho (or anyone really) I see that you've used the Woodgrain look for the butt. Do you know if it were black would it be canon? I have a Hyperfirm coming and I like the black look better, but was wondering if it was canon or not. Thanks man!
  23. Ahhh, Handsome Bob! Lol, thanks Matt!
  24. Yeah, I have no idea who this Tom Hardy is, but I for one am sick of geriatrics continuing on in action films long passed their prime (per Stefan: Rambo, Rocky, Indy etc.) Now I love Michael Keaton, but can you still picture him doing the Batman movies?
