Hahaha, good on ya Matt, there are worse clubs in london Enjoy the trip

Wow, great stuff Matt! I thought trafalgar square and the National gallery in London were awesome and highly recommend them (but take the "tube" taxi's are expensive!) It's awesome you're gonna catch an EPL match, but you got it wrong, you have to head up to Manchester to catch our boys at United Glory! Glory!

Looking great so far Jesse! I think the neckseal looks good, but judging from the material it might be a little hot? I also think you'll be a lot more comfortable in those gloves than the ones that came with the kit. Trust me once you start trooping you're more and more willing to trade a little bit of screen accuracy for more comfort Yeah, the ammo pack on the legs of the AP are a dirty *$%@! and from what I remember I had to line them up a little different on each side to straighten them out. I also had it a little higher on the leg by putting the rivet more in the middle of it, which covered the gap a bit better, but that could just be personal preference. Keep at it, almost done!

I think the layout is great! and I really like the imperial font on the background. My only small comment would be the use of colour. The colour red seems oddly out of place, or maybe it's the black background. I would only change the colour use to more closely match the rest of the site. Great job tho!

Great job Jonathan, just wait for the "high" you get from seeing the looks on peoples faces when you start trooping, nothing matches it. And remember your brothers and sisters at FISD are always here for you if you need to vent/unload

Thanks for the kudos everyone! It was a lot of fun but you're right Ryan, it's tough to convey "sadness" under your bucket, lol. When the next one is finished production I'll be sure to post it as well

The tape on industrial strength velcro is very strong by itself if you let it cure for 24 hours (despite them not recommending it on fabric) You may want to add some fabric glue just to be safe or just take it to a local seamstress.

I used black automotive pinstriping tape and think it works great. You can grab it at Canadian Tire for around $4.

Hey Jim, I don't want to speak for Bluehickey, but I think the intent is for Troopers to band together to be "fit" and look the best we can in our armour. So I can see how not having enough mass would be just as big of a problem as having too much We're here to help and support each other reach our goals, bottomline. Now if we can just figure how to transfer my mass to you . . .

Hey Guys and Gals, The Canadian Garrison was asked to feature in a couple of promo ads for an upcoming convention in Toronto this year. The first one has just finished production, so I thought I'd share it. I'm the featured "sad" TK. Hope you like it!

I think this is a great idea. I've already started my program, but I'll share and this will be a great way to show progress. I tore my ACL two years ago and had to have surgery, since then I've been lagging in getting rid of the weight I put on before my knee blew out. 2 years ago I was 185 lbs and working out 6 times per week. Below is one of my 501st application pics taken about a month and a half ago, so: March 15 weight: 228 lbs May 3 weight: 218 lbs Goal weight: 180 lbs Program: So far I've been running 2-4 kms, 4 days a week and free weights 2 x per week. I've also started to seriously cut back on eating out (although I love my wings and beer) and almost never eat fast food. I've also started to eat salads as a meal (weird concept, I know My GF is a personal trainer so that has helped too. Soccer starts this week and I'll be playing 2 nights a week.

I have a set of Panda's garters and they work great! It doesn't really matter where you attach to snap, because his garters are adjustable. I glued mine about halfway up and adjusted the length as needed.

Black chemical gloves are canon, but you will sweat up a storm. Black Chemical for LFL events, Nomex for the rest, they are awesome.

AP Armor Question; How fat is too fat?
Shooter replied to slave1pilot's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Yeah, I think AP has kinda got a bad rap for bigger guys, I'm VERY happy with mine. Here's my measurements: 5'11" - 200-210 (depending on my diet of wings and beer Chest 44" Abs - 36" Waist 38" Seat 38"-40" Thighs - 28" Arms - 17" Here is a link to my build: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9735 I've since secured the belt and lowered the chest plate so it looks a lot better. My only beef is that the chest plate could be bigger and I could use bigger shoulder bells. I had to shim the biceps and overtrim them, there's about a 3.5" side gap and a tapered 5" gap on the back thighs. Hope it helps, Matt -
My AP helmet suggestions for improvements...
Shooter replied to TKTrev's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looks about perfect to me. I wouldn't change a thing -
You can see pics of my test fit on my build thread here:--------- I've made some changes since then, mainly just tightening things up, straightening and centering the chest and back and I've also enlarged the biceps since then because they were tight and chaffing my inner elbow when I would bend my arms. I'm ready for my EIB application but have been so busy trooping I haven't had time to take the pics, lol. Did you glue them together with E6000? If so you can pull it off (carefully) to make a bigger gap, that's what I did. Just make sure you clean up the excess old glue before you reattach. My chest is a 44 btw and I am working on closing the gap between the shoulder bells and chest piece, just working on a better system. LMK if you need more info, or more up close and personal pieces of specific parts, I can take some pics on the weekend.

I have an AP and it is a close match to that of an original (said that as politically correct as possible to avoid backlash The actors were generally 5 '10 and 150-175 pounds and built like lacrosse players I'm 5,11" about 205 and built like a linebacker. So this is what I did: - Cut extra and didn't generally follow the cut lines (apparently AP cast from an ROTJ suit which was designed to overlap, not buttseam like ANH) - Increased the size of the finishing strips to 20mm for the arms and 30mm for the legs - definitely had to shim the biceps and thighs, the biceps I shimmed at the back which allowed for a much cleaner finish on the front (you can really see the back biceps anyways - Monster of a shim job on the thighs cuz of my tree trunk legs - about 28" around. For this I had to buy extra ABS Even with the mods tho, I think it turned out great, now that I'm out trooping and seeing up close and personal some of the other kits out there, I just love the AP. It would be a shame if you didn't troop in it.

Question about helmet opening
Shooter replied to lunarlord's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I have an AP and absolutely love it. My head is 7 5/8" and it is tight getting it on, but once it's on it's fine. I have two fans, mic and a wireless unit in the back. My 2 cents -
I also have an ongoing run of 80 gauge ABS sheets. ----- PM me if you're interested.

How do I attach Flat Green Lenses?
Shooter replied to Shooter's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Thanks guys! It's really cool to see all of these different ideas. I was in the hardware store on friday and looking around at all the options (Michael's is in another city about 20km's away) and it was actually pretty funny what I came across. "Mighty Putty" the as seen on TV product as promoted by the late great Billy Mays, lol. It was $10 and takes 20 mins to seal/harden after it's activated. A very quick and easy solution and it worked GREAT! Zero mess and very little time. Thanks again, PS - My first troop was awesome! It was a library event for kids, a whole day of pics and autographs. We even popped in and suprprised a birthday party at the same community centre. Can't put it into words what an awesome feeling it was -

How do I attach Flat Green Lenses?
Shooter replied to Shooter's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
That's a cool idea, I wonder if I can find this Fimo stuff (or equivalent) in Canada. I also, like your idea of "doubling up" definitely gonna do that too. -
How do I attach Flat Green Lenses?
Shooter replied to Shooter's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Thanks Noel, but my issue is that they're two separate pieces that are just slightly bigger than the eyes, not one big strip which would be a lot simpler. There's not a lot of surface area so you can't really get glue in there. I've read that some people use putty for reinforcement to increase the contact area, but I don't have the time for something like that. Thanks for trying and sorry for not being clear before -
Hey Guys, I've been searching around and can't find a thread on this, so if I missed it and you can point me in the right direction that would be great. Otherwise, I have an AP lid and some stellar flat green lenses from Runnriott (thanks Nathan) but can't figure out for the life of me what would be the best way to install them. I've tried double sided tape and some extra foam that I had laying around, but it wasn't sturdy enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have my first troop on Sat! Thanks,
