  1. Who is this "Pandatrooper" you speak of? I've never heard of him Lol, great job Terry, you were a big help on my build and I love how your ideas always have a unique twist
  2. Looking good Jesse! My only comment is that IMHO the brow is sitting a little high, but then, I'm a low brow kinda guy myself Great work.
  3. Hey Guys and Gals, I've finally got the the suit to the point where I'm comfortable enough to submit it of approval So, here we go, please let me know if I've missed anything or you need a closer look at something. Thanks in advance. Armor/Helmet: AP Blaster: Hasbro/Doopydoos Mod - D-ring, chain link Mic Tips: Keiths Neck Seal: TK 409 Lenses: Runnriott's with the shiny green AP's over Gloves: Nomex or black chemical (Nomex in the pics) Boots: CAboots Holster: AP slightly modified - attached with two rivets to the canvas belt Ab Buttons: Testors blue 1111 and Testors grey 1138 3 rivets on left side ab, 1 snap on right side 3 rivets left side cod split cod and butt rivets attaching knee ammo pack and sniper plate Shoulder straps, free floating with clear rubberband holding them down. Sorry in advance, some of these are not rotated, Imageshack was giving me trouble cut butt and cod rivets attaching holster Blaster And a couple action shots And to leave on a high note, one with Adrianne Curry and I at Wizard Con
  4. Also, the material looks like you'd melt under it. If you're in the market I recommend TK 409's www.tk409.com breathable and looks great. My two cents
  5. Great story Chris, thanks for sharing!
  6. Great stuff Ryan, looks like you're on the right track don't worry the results will come, just keep at it!
  7. Interesting, are they neoprene or more of a sealed rubber? I'm a scuba diver and neoprene gloves are generally pretty hot (when not under water) and are very rigid, not allowing for much dexterity.

Wow, great stuff Matt! I thought trafalgar square and the National gallery in London were awesome and highly recommend them (but take the "tube" taxi's are expensive!) It's awesome you're gonna catch an EPL match, but you got it wrong, you have to head up to Manchester to catch our boys at United Glory! Glory!
  11. Looking great so far Jesse! I think the neckseal looks good, but judging from the material it might be a little hot? I also think you'll be a lot more comfortable in those gloves than the ones that came with the kit. Trust me once you start trooping you're more and more willing to trade a little bit of screen accuracy for more comfort Yeah, the ammo pack on the legs of the AP are a dirty *$%@! and from what I remember I had to line them up a little different on each side to straighten them out. I also had it a little higher on the leg by putting the rivet more in the middle of it, which covered the gap a bit better, but that could just be personal preference. Keep at it, almost done!
  12. I think the layout is great! and I really like the imperial font on the background. My only small comment would be the use of colour. The colour red seems oddly out of place, or maybe it's the black background. I would only change the colour use to more closely match the rest of the site. Great job tho!
  13. Great job Jonathan, just wait for the "high" you get from seeing the looks on peoples faces when you start trooping, nothing matches it. And remember your brothers and sisters at FISD are always here for you if you need to vent/unload
  14. Thanks for the kudos everyone! It was a lot of fun but you're right Ryan, it's tough to convey "sadness" under your bucket, lol. When the next one is finished production I'll be sure to post it as well
  15. The tape on industrial strength velcro is very strong by itself if you let it cure for 24 hours (despite them not recommending it on fabric) You may want to add some fabric glue just to be safe or just take it to a local seamstress.
  16. I used black automotive pinstriping tape and think it works great. You can grab it at Canadian Tire for around $4.
  17. Hey Jim, I don't want to speak for Bluehickey, but I think the intent is for Troopers to band together to be "fit" and look the best we can in our armour. So I can see how not having enough mass would be just as big of a problem as having too much We're here to help and support each other reach our goals, bottomline. Now if we can just figure how to transfer my mass to you . . .
  18. Hey Guys and Gals, The Canadian Garrison was asked to feature in a couple of promo ads for an upcoming convention in Toronto this year. The first one has just finished production, so I thought I'd share it. I'm the featured "sad" TK. Hope you like it!
  19. I think this is a great idea. I've already started my program, but I'll share and this will be a great way to show progress. I tore my ACL two years ago and had to have surgery, since then I've been lagging in getting rid of the weight I put on before my knee blew out. 2 years ago I was 185 lbs and working out 6 times per week. Below is one of my 501st application pics taken about a month and a half ago, so: March 15 weight: 228 lbs May 3 weight: 218 lbs Goal weight: 180 lbs Program: So far I've been running 2-4 kms, 4 days a week and free weights 2 x per week. I've also started to seriously cut back on eating out (although I love my wings and beer) and almost never eat fast food. I've also started to eat salads as a meal (weird concept, I know My GF is a personal trainer so that has helped too. Soccer starts this week and I'll be playing 2 nights a week.
  20. I have a set of Panda's garters and they work great! It doesn't really matter where you attach to snap, because his garters are adjustable. I glued mine about halfway up and adjusted the length as needed.
  21. Black chemical gloves are canon, but you will sweat up a storm. Black Chemical for LFL events, Nomex for the rest, they are awesome.
  22. Armor maker: AP Height: 5'11" Weight: 200-210 Chest: 44" Abs: 36" did you use shims? Yes - 3.5" Waist: 38" Thighs: 28" did you use shims? Yes - 5" and over trimmed Biceps: 17" did you use shims? Yes - 1.5 "and over trimmed Forearm: unsure did you use shims? No, lots of space Any other mod? No
  23. Yeah, I think AP has kinda got a bad rap for bigger guys, I'm VERY happy with mine. Here's my measurements: 5'11" - 200-210 (depending on my diet of wings and beer Chest 44" Abs - 36" Waist 38" Seat 38"-40" Thighs - 28" Arms - 17" Here is a link to my build: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=9735 I've since secured the belt and lowered the chest plate so it looks a lot better. My only beef is that the chest plate could be bigger and I could use bigger shoulder bells. I had to shim the biceps and overtrim them, there's about a 3.5" side gap and a tapered 5" gap on the back thighs. Hope it helps, Matt
