I'll just be sitting over here waiting for the updates...3 points

Thank you Chemi! I just saw Barry's submission and see that we both have the same armor maker (Dave's Darkside Depot-formerly AM). Barry did the trimming of the button piece on the abdomen and it looks fine even without the "notch." So, I just clipped mine, too. New photos have been put in the original post. Have a great day, Mike3 points

Hello There. Oops. Wrong group. Just kidding. Hello there everyone. I would like to introduce myself as a new, baby butt fresh, highly motivated but overwhelmed, and excited potential member. I have been a life long cosplayer amd Star Wars fan but took about a ten year cosplay hiatus due to school, work and so forth. With life finally calming down, I really want to join the 501st. I have always been a fan of 501st for the outstanding screen accuracy and the charity work that the group does. It's something I want to pursue whole heartedly. Granted, I will require quite a bit of handholding seeing as though I have to brush off quite a bit of dust. Regardless, I am happy to be here. Thank you in advance for all of everyone's help and support.2 points

Yeah, it was suggested to me as well, hence the trimming. Your build looks great! Best of luck Trooper!2 points

Balaclava: TBA Boots: Vincent from Keep Trooping - One size larger = perfect fit Blaster: Options and budget pending Audio: Audio System w/ICOMM voice modulator and Chatter Loop Audio System UkswrathsSpecialty (also Flat Pan Head Screws for detonator - scarce as hen's teeth) Cooling: Dual Helmet Cooling Fans: Henry's Cooling Fans - Trooperbayshop also Standard Tube striping, trooper frown back screen After some months researching and purchasing supplies, parts, paints, glues and tools, measuring twice and cutting some other time. Finally bit the bullet and started on the hand guards. 1. First Cut: Hand Guards. No Pics - 2. Detonator: Studied (BillHag’s TK-1650) Billagrams for measurements. THERMAL DETONATOR ASSEMBLY HOW TO by TK bondservnt, and justjoseph63 Quick Reference Guide for OT TK. Spent some time getting my head around cutting down to size on a curved/round surface. Detonator caps at approx. 20 cm achieved by taping the Dremel on a solid upright at the right height and simply turning the caps. Had some difficulty working out how to cut a straight line on a curved line of the detonator. Made a bad cut using a Dremel on the side length - had to fix with additional cut using a knife and ruler. Perhaps what I should have used in the first place. My dimension on the curve is 95mm as per approximate guideline - however (last Pic) I have a bevel line - do I crop down to 90-92mm?1 point

My son just received his scout trooper kit from RS propmasters and they included a 2024 Calendar with the kit. I was so excited when I turned to Mr. August and saw @Nairy looking back at me. awesome to see you in there. Congratulations1 point

This subject has come up a few times with the RO / New Era armor and the belts, there is a standard belt and there are belts which have been trimmed to allow a little more movement (or because they have been broken). All of the angle cuts appear to be on the same angle although cut in different places. Standard, straight across bottom of belt Trimmed / Angle cut Even with the trimmed angle cut there are variants, trimmed in line of the corner of the second belt box, trimmed under the corner of second belt box, trimmed to meet the corner of the last belt box and trimmed on the inside of the second belt box Trimmed in line of the corner of the second belt box Under corner of second belt box Angle cut before the last belt box Trimmed on the inside of the second belt box So should some level of belt trimming be allowable in the CRL and for higher level acceptance?1 point

Hi Barry . Thanks for your request. Added to the process line1 point

One of the many reasons to get this out of the ballpark. I really wanted to order both the EI and Centurion before the run is closed. My local TK's gave me my first FISD patch the other day. I'm so excited to order them and get my certificates! And my first troop in my Garrison as a TK will be at Centurion level.1 point

I was hoping we’d see your submission in the near future! Let’s go! And by the way, you now qualify for the EI rocker patches that we are mid-run on! And Centurion soon, no doubt! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Congrats Barry! EI approval is a great way to cap of the year!1 point
