Those posting the negative comments online obviously have no idea what we represent. If they would bother to dig a little deeper into our organization, they would find that we have raised over $360,000.00 for the "Make-A-Wish" foundation and many, many thousands more for local charities. We spend crazy amounts of money building our costume(s) and then drive countless miles to appear (for free) at the events we attend on our own time. Remember, we only show up when we are invited, and this includes children's hospitals, police community events, parades, etc. We are asked back to these events year after year for a reason. Yes, we are the "bad guys", but what kid wouldn't want to meet a "real life" Stormtrooper who gives them a high-five? We don't do this for notoriety. We do it because we care. Yeah, it's fun to dress up as your favorite SW character, but when you see a giant ear-to-ear smile on a kid (or adult) at a troop it makes all the time (and money) you spent building that costume worthwhile. "Bad guys doing good". Side note: I have been on more troops than I can count, and I have noticed that the vast majority of those wanting photos with members of the 501st (especially TKs) FAR outweighs those wanting a pic with a Jedi. No offense to you Rebel Legion types, lol.3 points

Since velcro is used on the belt it could be considered a simple dressing issue! If you have a spotter whilst taking the images just make them aware of the position!2 points

You have obviously put a great deal of work into this armor and paid attention to details, Sean, and I can definitely see a Centurion badge in your future! The D.O.s will go over any issues for Level 3 in your review, but if you want to get a jump on it one that will need to be addressed is the position of your ABS belt. As per the CRL for Centurion level: The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels It is usually held in place with snaps attached to the ab plate, which can be hard to adjust. An alternative to moving the snaps would be to use industrial strength Velcro AWESOME job on that blaster, by the way! As an E-11 enthusiast I was well impressed with all the details. Well done! Also, I know one D.O. (@Chemi) who will be very pleased with the position of your Han snap, lol. Perfect!2 points

Ok, so I built Nico's helmet shortly after he released his files around 4 years ago, and I have a build thread that I started back then, and that I only recently updated to show how it ended up turning out. Here's a couple pics of that build. I love that helmet and the sculpt that Nico created. But over the years and with so much new reference material from Solo to Andor and everything in between, I've been wanting to modify a few things to make the helmet a bit closer to what I've been seeing on the screen as well as make it easier to assemble along the way. I started about 6 months ago with wanting to try my hand at modifying the files and make the cheek tubes penetrate into the chin area. That was the beginning of a long journey, ha! I didn't really have any experience with 3D software, other than tinkering with minor modifications on files before. I've been working on a mod in my spare time, with some insight and plenty of reference from Ryder Kinion I've finally got it to where I'm ready to start a build. I ended up lightly to moderately modifying every part, as well as utilizing and slightly modifying David Os's ear and temple trap pieces. The list is pretty extensive, I won't go into every little detail I modified but here's an overview of some of the main changes I made: 1. I slightly narrowed the overall sculpt side to side as well as slightly reduced the height of the dome. 2. Added alignment pegs and holes between almost every piece that attaches together. 3. Like I mentioned, I made the cheek tubes penetrate into the chin and added attachment plates between the end of the tubes and inside the chin piece. 4. Modified the teeth to add the last tooth and added attachment plates to secure them better to the inside of the helmet. 5. Added a slight recess to the regions where the tears, temple traps and back traps sit. As well as cut out a hole behind the tears and back traps for ventilation. I plan on adding a black, breathable fabric backing similar to what has been reported by those familiar with the screen used helmets. 6. Modified the brow trim to look similar to the rubber trim used on screen-used helmets. I may end up trying to use actual rubber trim. We'll see what works best. At this angle you can really see not only the brow trim difference, but also the reduction in height of the dome, the angle of the vocoder and the modification of the point where the cheek tubes penetrate into the chin. 7. Modified vocoder angle and length of some tubes and added additional alignment and attachment points. 8. And for all the fans of the Mimban trooper, I modified the Mimban shield and pins to be more narrow and sit closer to the width of the helmet and increased the height of the brow trim feature on the shield I made a couple miniature test prints along the way which helped me see if my mods were working the way they were supposed to. They also helped me see other modifications that needed to be made. These are the first two I made. They were printed at 35% scale, the one on the left was the my first test print to see if the alignment pegs and keyholes worked properly as well as seeing how the tubes to chin connection looked and worked in real life. Then after comparing to reference and talking to Ryder we both agreed it needed to be narrower side-to-side which made the dome too tall and square. So I slimmed the whole thing down by 3% and reduced the height of the dome. But then after seeing it in real life we felt it was a bit too narrow. So I decided to try it closer to 2% narrower from the original and it finally looked right. So after a few more tweaks to a few details (and after getting a larger resin printer, that I picked up at a great deal), I decided to give it another go at a test print. This time at 50% scale. I finally feel that this is the one! And now I think I'm ready to start my build. I think I'm going to avoid all the heavy post processing work this time around and get the big pieces resin printed with a strong resin, probably from Corellia Creations and resin print all the smaller pieces myself. As I've found from doing miniatures, resin is so much easier to get to paint ready than an FDM print. This may be slow go on my part, as I try to work on it in my spare time when I've got the motivation and energy, ha! But I'm hoping my excitement to see the finished piece will provide me with enough. Wish me luck, I'll post updates as it's coming along!1 point

Hello you lovely people, last Sunday on the 21st of May I received my approval for my TK (ANH Stunt). Now I am very proud to be part of the 501st Legion - German Garrison. I am so happy to join this great community. My next plans are to optimize my armor which is from RS Propmasters and do the request for expert infantry. I am looking forward to my first troop in July and meeting great people. Note … the pictures with the colored light setup are just for fun.1 point

A lot comes from our costuming standards, some not understanding and frustrated they haven't been approved so the first thing to do is yell out on social media the legion is too strict. That's not to diminish some peoples experience in the legion a lot can be negative but I find the positive more out ways the negative. Every club has it's issues, look at our former LCO takes to social media and rants over issues she encounered, that's not the way a club leader should act. Social media is the easiest way to get negativity out there in the world, it has a lot to answer for. Mostly my time in the legion has been positive, hopefully that remains until I call it a day.1 point

You can remove all the top return edge but I would recommend to leave a little in the bottom. TOP1 point

Regular Velcro is fine for many things, but I swear by the Industrial Strength type. You need to let it adhere to the surfaces for 24 hours or so before joining it, but it almost takes an act of Congress (or Parliament in your case, lol) to remove it once the bond is set. You can get a meter (WAY more than you will need) on Amazon UK for less than 6 pounds. Link here.1 point

Actually I do have velcro to hold the belt up, however the tackyness has failed. I think either betting a better sort or glue would do the job. Once cleared expert, I will do another set of kitted photos for centurion. Thank you for all of the positive comments, I must say a big deal of thanks goes to the great vendors who have helped me through the builds (as well as the armourers with the uk garrison). Ross from RWA and Marc from Troopacoola have been amazing at helping and suggesting ways through the tricky bits. It's a really loving and generous community that I am glad to be a part of. This will have to be changed, anything already in use by LFL/Disney won't be able to be used. The guidelines are clear: No 501st or FISD markings or branding. Period. Any active Legion member with a valid stormtrooper costume in the specified geographic area can join. The Team can create a name, logo, backstory, etc. for itself (names usually contain Fire Team, though this isn't required). A list of each Team (with their specific "Teams Name") with a current list their members will be kept in the Fire Team sub-forum on the Detachment website. A Team must have at least 2 members to start. Ideally Teams should be no more than 16 members in size, with an average of about 8-12 members, but a Team may have as many members as you wish. A Team member must troop at least twice per year to maintain status as a member. Two or more Team members must troop together once per year to keep the group active. The first line would include any LFL or Disney properties.1 point

Just to chime in, I am another staff member in full support of Chris' and Justin's opinion in this matter. There will never be a thread posted on the FISD about the nature of this situation. However, if anyone does some digging of their own and/or reaches out to legion members then maybe you will be able to find the information you are looking for.1 point

New section now open Happy Friday or Saturday where ever you live in this world, We have a new costume coming to FISD, which no doubt will surprise a few, but we are officially the new home for the Imperial Commando's from The Mandalorian. Currently we are building a new section of the forums for this costume which will house build threads and the usual research and discussions that surround costumes. Stay tuned as this should be open over the next couple of days1 point

Me again. The information I have shared (without "naming-and-shaming" specific details) has been confirmed both by Legion staff, and by former associates of his. These are not accusations, these are facts and much of it is public record. I have been doing my best to post on all Detachment forums and relevant Facebook groups lately to get the word out, after seeing an upsetting number of 501st and even members of my own Garrison leaving positive reviews on his Etsy page. We definitely do not want to support this individual. Anyone familiar with what happened with Hyperfirm is aware exactly why.1 point

Given the nature of the issues and details involved: no. I was one of the staff who investigated and I can only say to you I was as through as I could be and it was corroborated by other staff. We are confident in our decision and stand by it.1 point
