Hello everyone! My name is Brad and I recently purchased a complete, finished, armor kit from a 501st member. I purchased the other things I needed; balaclava, undersuit, gloves, holster, and all my electronics to install in my bucket. Only thing I have to left to install in the helmet is my UKsWrath Hearing Assist kit. Everything else; ICOMM, UKsWrath Speaker Hovi tips, amplifier, microphone, and dual fan system, I installed. Still have some final things to do to secure everything in place. I'm interested in joining the 501st. I just think it would be a great group to be a part of, and I truly think that the fundraiser part, love, and support the 501st brings to people through their events would really warm my soul. After all the negatives I had to deal with in my life; unexpected death of my wife, tending to her 76 year old mother, and just general life stresses, I feel this would be really be good for my soul and overall spirit. Thanks to all who read and listened. I'm very new to all of this, but am glad to have found White Armor, and hopefully I can become a Legion member and join the Carolina Garrison. Good day all, I just realized I never made an official "reporting for duty" post, so here it is. Approved in July with my ANH Stormtrooper. I am part of the Badlands Garrison in Western Canada. About me? Star Wars fan all my life, even saw Episode 4 in theaters way back in 1977, so now you know I'm old. Always loved the Stormtooper, even as a kid so I knew this had to be my first entry to the 501st. The armor is so intimidating. Journeyman heavy diesel mechanic by trade but haven't turned a wrench since 2005 and have been in management since. In my spare time I 3D print many things (mainly Star Wars of course), walk my dog "Chewie", corrupt my son to join the Empire, and as well I have an Instagram account where I post Star Wars action figure photos and try to be funny. Also I love to travel with Disneyland being one of my more frequent stops. One day, I'd like to troop with the SoCal Garrison or the Imperial Sands Garrison as I get to San Diego often as well. I appreciate the words of kindness and the welcomes! Yeah it happened Dec 6th 2021, and it's just so weird for somebody to be there everyday, then the next they're not, and there's nothing you can do to fix it. I'm 48, have always loved Star Wars since the Original trilogy and my very first 3.75" figure, C-3PO. Almost 7 years ago, Black Series 6" figures brought me back into collecting v Star Wars toys, which opened up me to buying original vintage playsets, and newer release figures and vehicles, cause the articulation was way better, and the better paint apps, and I have a few Hot Toys also, haha. Ever since I was a kid, I swore to myself the one day, I would have a set of Stormtrooper armor displayed on a mannequin, standing at attention, in my house one day. Purchased the armor in April, maybe May, and had to return the mannequin because it was too tall to get so the armor on it. I literally have 1 room full of toys, and almost 2/3rds of another room for the rest. It's predominately Star Wars, but I also collect Marvel Legends (mostly Spider-Man characters), McFarlane DC Multiverse (mostly Batman), GI Joe Classified, and other random toys from the 70's/80's that I had as a kid.

This version has the legs, so that’s a plus. I’ll have to do some comparisons when I get home.

Noticed the standee *does* have the zipper clearly shown on the boot. Odd... but I'll accept it. So disregard the last post.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm finishing the left thigh trimming. But my plan is to get the calf armor close to final trimming and see how it all fits before making a decision on the mobility cuts. More to come...

Same haha, I loved watching the mortar in action. Part of me wants to make a functional mortar tube that actually launches the detonators but..... I have a feeling that would end badly in so many ways.

I was recently thinking more about the revival of my own HWT thread and came back to this AWESOME thread to find the images missing! Update 6th September 2022 Well 3 months on and I have actually received by replacement WHITE pauldron, now take note of the word WHITE I'm just sitting here stunned over the color mistake, overall the pauldron is better and I don't know if I can be bothered dealing with them any further over wrong color, I'll think over the next few days. What a difference (not just the color) but the finish compared to this piece of poodoo. Maybe some won't mind the ridges and lines but it's definitely not what they show on their website. Still haven't arranged any info in regards to having this one sent back, will see what happens. All I can say is buyer beware, I hope over time they improve and can become a consistent supplier of costumes to the Star Wars community. It does warm the heart to see so many images of people receiving their BBB's of armor, an end is in sight, hang in their peeps, not much longer to go.

Cool! I checked out your picture and you seem to be missing that dad bod that I'm trying to rock here! lol. Maybe more guys are hiding that then it appears. It's one of my concerns to be sure, but in about three months I will see how that all pans out. Bart

Yes, "winter storage area". Much better. It's a gut winter storage area, but it falls in the more "dad bod" variety. Not so so bad, not so so good, but it sounds like the AP armor is going to be well suited for the belly button circumference I have. This will give me a reason to get out and do some walking to get into better shape. I wasn't as motivated a day ago. I'm going to commission this though. That's one area I wish I had the skills to do myself, but I am also realistic on my skills. I hadn't considered that I am going to be walking around in underwear and plastic. Ok, that is still a bit strange to wrap my brain around. Good thing no one can recognize me then. I'm a character at that point, not myself. I'll remind myself of that. Bart

Thanks. To finally decide it took a bit of chatting and today I went and bought a set of black undersuit compression, whatever-the-heck-it-is stuff to see what that felt like, It was a bit strange. Tight. OMG the gut..... OK, good that that goes under the ABS. Still a bit horrific to think about. But at the end of it all as scary a this seems (because I'm already thinking of actual trooping which I am not at yet) instead of just dealing with one step at a time I'm in the process of getting armor ordered. Can't even believe I am saying that. I read all the stuff here and watch videos and everyone seems to be having just so much fun I can't not do it even with some insecurities and still a mile long list of unknowns to still figure out. It will be hard to govern myself here with the flow of questions to come from me. Bart
