  2. Ok so I think ive completed all forms, Im looking to get some feedback on each indiviual part before I start smoothing them and adding cover strips as when I do that I wont be able to go back and fix things. Happy to send the files off to some people who are keen, as a thanks youll recieve the finished files free as well as some extra stuff. Anyway, here is what it currently looks like: Hope detail is visible enough, was difficult finding a colour and ligting preset that would show off the details well enough. Very keen to get some feedback on this, if youre interested to look over the files, shoot me a PM here or on FB.

  3. Hey all I want to document my 850 Armorworks build since I don't see alot of those yet. My goal is to complete it in about 30 days since my neighbors son has a birthday party. Last year I went as Boba Fett repaint. I was offered to go again as Boba again but I offered a TK. So .... Armor - 850 AW. Helmet- 850 AW resin cast - still waiting for it to arrive Undersuit - generic Underarmor until I find a proper one. I believe I can use the generic non- textured for basic approval Boots - Imerpialboots Gloves - nomex flight gloves

  4. This is entirely up to your GML (garrison membership liaison) some are stricter than others, they should be fine for basic approval but will not meet the higher levels. Nothing mentioned about the stitching until L2 Boots Boots are above ankle height and made of white leather or leather-like material. Small U-shaped elastic sections on both sides of the ankle. Flat sole with a short heel. No buckles or laces. Jodhpur/ Chelsea-type boots or an equivalent style is acceptable. Elvis or Mariachi boots are not allowed. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is no seam present on the front of the boot. Boots have a black sole

  6. No worries. We feel your pain - it’s a nightmare applying things to the curved surface of the cheeks. Stencils, decals, even regular masking tape is tricky to get it in the right place. You got this. [emoji16]

  7. Hi Chris, Very neat. Good job. Not sure if it’s the light but, are the right hand side ones (when worn) drifting away a little from the cheek at the front? This might not be an issue for basic clearance but might be noticed at higher levels, so up to you if you want to correct it or not. The other side looks super. [emoji16] (Btw, if you use the “stand back, zoom in” technique for these photos, you’ll be able to see the tubestripes a little easier from the front. Example below:)

  9. There is no particular instruction book, but lots of references and videos on YouTube for learning. I'm only a few months in to my very first armor build and I can tell you that the community here is incredible and will answer any and every question you have!

  10. Have you tried reaching out to your local garrison, I would gather sending a completed painted set would cost quite a bit with shipping.

  11. I haven't had much luck with bending ABS, but have found these work well to accomplish the same thing and with a little dab of epoxy on the butt plate side only, are now a standard addition on suits for me! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07793L26V/

  12. Hahaha thanks. I went a bit overboard. YES THO. Many things I still need to change. Namely my solution for the shoulder bridges. I used ONLY magnets to secure the chest plate and bridges to the back/sides and they failed when I leaned forward, causing the chest to fall off and crack at the front shoulder tabs. I need to do a pretty significant repair there and will likely be utilizing a new set of flexible bridges made by @BigJasoni who is also a big ROTK guy. I'd recommend using magnets as locators but maybe some velcro in a few select places to really secure things in place. I'll get back to this at some point and post some additional updates, but I have some stuff planned that's still in the works!

  13. I'm sorry to read your health situation Adam, I like to do some Gym exercise too and find so difficult tp do it at home. This Covid thing has been a real mess . The worse thing we can do is to leave the physical activity it's depressing and the body need it. Hope you can continue with your Home Gym, day by day . I have a saying that I read somewhere, when things turns challenging. "Retreat Hell, we just got here! " keep on posting your advances brother !

  14. This is a timely thread bump. I didn't realize we had something like this. So... I've got Crohn's disease. Currently I'm untreated with no meds. I've been diagnosed for over 14 years and have gone from a lot of drugs and immunosupressives to a few to none. Diet and obsessive exercise had me in complete remission. I've had maybe 3 flare ups in the 14 years and was never hospitalized beyond my original episode... wherein I almost died. COVID lock down has been extremely unkind. I *loved* going to the gym. I'm a social exerciser. I don't enjoy working out on my own and have a hard time motivating myself to do it. But if others are around, perhaps in a gym environment, I do well. If I'm in a class with others doing the daily workout board (WOD) I thrive. I haven't worked out much in the past 2.5 years since lockdown. I built a decent home gym in an unused room and have all the equipment I need... just no motivation to do it. How lame is that? A lovely home gym with a rack, plates, weights, and all I need yet it just sits. And because of Crohn's, I cannot exercise in a gym. At least currently while COVID is still rampant. I'm fully immunized, but it doesn't matter a whole lot in this condition. I started building my armor when I was working out all the time. I did the forearms and biceps back in 2019. They were TIGHT. And when I took my centurion photos in 2021, they were quite loose. Arguably, they needed (and still need) to be sized down. And I was still in "good shape" when I took these pix. Healthy without symptoms. I'm not in good shape now. Crohn's has been rearing it's ugly head and my health is quite poor. I likely need meds again, or I need to actually work out, or both. I've lost about 30 lbs of muscle. I can't eat much to help maintain my weight. I'm in danger of not being able to troop and being in the hospital again. So I need this Trooper Fit Club. Or something. Anything. A kick in the posterior armor. I've done small workouts the past 2 days. I just need to keep doing things. Keep moving. Keep lifting things. I need to do something today. It's so hard to find the motivation.

  15. Getting close to having your 501st TK # soon, Jonathan! Your GML will determine if the boots are good to go, but fingers are crossed for ya'. Even if you choose not to aim for higher levels of approval (but we hope you will ) I would consider getting a pair of Imperial boots (link here). At around 90 bucks they are not cheap, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. They are comfortable, will last a long, long time and are a great company to deal with. Despite what it says on their website meets at least L1 clearance requirements they are approvable all the way to Centurion level! Note that they make them in "waves".. about once a month. The current wave ends in 5 days (June 17th), but if you need to hold off they do these waves about once a month. One word of advice is to order a half or full size larger than you normally wear. Trust me.

  17. Couldn't have said it better, Eric! I have trooped many times with the fine folks in the GA Garrison (as recently as a few weeks ago) and you won't find a nicer group of people.. (well, except for here at the FISD, of course).
