  1. Hey all, new to the forum dropping in to say hello. I’ve been kicking the idea around of getting into the fun because I’m about 80% Star Wars fanboy and I love the idea of using it for charity work. Going to definitely get a ready to wear build and fit it to myself as I can’t begin to fathom how long it would take me to finish a kit with my schedule. Appreciate any direction into getting in touch with local people as well. A pleasure, JT

  2. Ok, so…. As I mentioned, I wanted to make the holster come off with snaps, but how to do it… I found some other posts info about people doing it, so I know I’m not the only one. Good. I really like what Chicago screws look like on the outside of the belt, but how would that work with snaps… Like this used tin snips to shrink the screw head grinder to round it off better. (Be carful! They like to fly fast!! If you touch the wheel wrong) And it fits. (I’m sure I could come up with a better way to make it cleaner but, I only needed 2… for now.) I then made some 1mm plastic spacers to go under the snap to help spread the forces and improve the overall fit, like I did for the ab snaps. It’s actually a lot of work to hand craft what’s basically a plastic washer…. and belt now can be removed easy for packing! maybe I’ll make the 1mm spacers bigger so they hang out from under the snap later… we will see how these work stress wise.

  3. yeah the belly and knee are completely different from TK as is the belt, which makes kitbashing figures, making costumes etc tricky. I kinda like that belt concept. more visually interesting than the game accurate one (I too prefer CT big box placement). In game screenshots you can just about barely make out some panel lines on the boxes so they don't need to be completely smooth, just subtle panel lines. then again the panelling is so subtle on the low poly game models that they look smooth so I guess both subtle panel lines and completely smooth work fine

  4. Yes. It is the #5. I stirred it for a few minutes with a toothpick. Could it be because yours is going onto white paint and mine onto very shiny abs? couls also be the brush but the black went on thick. maybe I will drop a few ball bearings into the container at shake better?

  5. Thanks Dan. That is the look I am going for. I will raise them up. I actually have been using your references for this. Thanks for doing the videos. They are all very helpful.

  6. Sorry to hear that, brother, and I agree.. that really does look terrible. Especially for the price.

  7. Nice work, trooper. Good start. If you want a more “typical” Stunt look, you could consider a “fuller” vocoder by raising the 2nd and 6th bars. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/48252-anh-tk-vocoder-examples/ More details and references here;

  8. Okay finally noticed that the stomach armor is indeed a completely original piece and not a Stormtrooper piece, I never noticed that lol. And I see the difference in the knee piece after comparing the in game models. If I ever revisit the modelling process I'll correct them. I still prefer the Clone belt as a base, but there should be more of a morph to the TK belt. Maybe eliminate the excess boxes and smooth out the surfaces. I would still like to keep the two big boxes where they are on the CT belt but more flat and smooth. Here's a quick concept of a more transitional belt.

  10. Wow Glen, that is unfortunate. I guess we should keep our expectations low at this point. It's one thing to supply, another to the expectation that you should receive a quality product at minimum.

  11. That’s to bad Mine had just a few ”lines” only visible in certain light…but they are clearly rushed as the leather portion is angled incorrect. I’ll remove it and reposition it, not a big deal even though 199US should mean one wouldn’t have to…..I’m just happy to receive something after all those years so perhaps a bit more content than I should. Better than nothing anyway.

  12. I did the ears this afternoon. That was a long 4 hours of sanding but I am pretty happy with the result. Had some trouble attaching the right ear as the face piece was not long enough to grab it and the back with the bottom screw. I added a small piece of scrap ABS and extended it to catch the screw. I noticed the right ear was a bit loose. I tightened the screw and it snugged nicely into the helmet.

  13. Couldn't have said it better, Eric! I have trooped many times with the fine folks in the GA Garrison (as recently as a few weeks ago) and you won't find a nicer group of people.. (well, except for here at the FISD, of course).
