Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, and I very much appreciate all the links and the wealth of information available here! I have actually been lurking this forum off and on for literally years waiting until I can start a build of my own. @MaskedVengeance I too am in northwest GA. I sent you a PM. I'll start a build thread as soon as the BBB's arrive!

Final helmet update: The imperial cog is my favorite emblem and I thought it would look nice on the side of the blast shield. A sticker might have been the easiest way, but it needed to be heavily worn off. That required more work… Okay, here we go... A plaque was required, as this helmet will be in my RS collection and there it would look odd without it. The layout is close to the original RS plaques and I weathered it to match the style of this bucket. This project was planned for winter 2020/2021 and now comes to an end. Building something outside the CRL restrictions was indeed real fun. Would I do it again? Yes! It was more difficult than a normal helmet (oh wonder) but worth the effort. Maybe I would use a little brighter kind of green (like TS-5, TS-28 or even TS-78). And I would add an aiming device on the right eye. It still hurts to not have it. Anyway, it was a fun journey and I really enjoyed to run a build thread again. Many thanks to everyone here for reading and commenting. Actually I wanted this post to end with a 360 degrees video of the helmet with all lights on. Sounds easy, but after 13 takes I still ended up with issues on lighting, auto-focus and a wobbly rotation. Hello everyone. Just chiming in to say hello as a new member. I've ordered an AM 4.5 kit from Dave's Darkside Depot and am impatiently awaiting to BBB day! In the meantime I'm doing as much research as possible to hopefully complete a Centurion level build from the start rather than doing corrections later. I'll be submitting approval from the 501st Georgia Garrison. Looking forward to beginning my build!

Hey troopers, Time for another update on this excellent kit. Let’s start with the latest video update, then move on to the photos: Part 3: So, the folding stock was a little bent/wonky on one side. To correct this, I decided to use wood and a clamp to sandwich the resin, then heat the resin over the steam from the kettle. This actually worked really well, allowing just enough “flex” to correct the part (probably to about 95%) I started gluing some of the parts to the main barrel - parts that would be of the same material on the original weapon. So, I attached the front and rear sights, mag well and flash guards. Front sight and rear sight needed sanding on the underside to fit the curvature of the barrel. The rear end cap is nicely detailed. Although, to take it up a notch, I used a Dremel to carve a dip into the central area. This is to fit the attachment for the D-ring. A quick test fit of a few parts, just for fun. (The pictured scope and Hengstler counter are from my old build) Quite a few parts are now ready to spray paint, which is rather exciting. :-) I’ll post more updates when I can. Thanks for reading. Quick question: I'm not sure if it's possible, but is there a way to contact a person who posts a video on youtube via email or PM? The reason I ask is that if we could get in touch with the guy who did this particular one and explain our situation (501st accuracy nerds) he may give us access to at least a few of those "secret" photos me mentioned in his video showing some details. He obviously wants the world to know about them, and what better place than the HOME of TKs? I wonder if anyone in the UKG knows him? Hmmmm.

Hi Erik. This is a tall order to find the correct setup for a functioning scope. I own several real scopes that I use to cast resin copies. I tried many times to find some alternative ways to transplant existing scope setups inside the M38 or M19 replica scopes but found it difficult to say the least. I will never say impossible as I know there are people out there with great ideas and knowledge to make it work somehow. I was able to buy the remaining stock of original prisms and prism cells for the M38s and M19s. Even with those prisms I could not get the correct lenses to make the scope work correctly. These were very precisely made back in the day. Having custom lenses and prisms made would cost me my kidney or kidneys so that idea went out the door quickly. But with all that said, I would keep testing various lenses and see if you can get the image to invert as you hope. Maybe someone with optic expertise can help figure out a good but cheap way to make this happen. Check out my resin scope kits on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/BulldogPropsJapan . These are exact copies of the original scopes inside and out so you could try and replicate the original lens/prism setup as closely as possible.
