  3. I've used Rob's tuts, also Ritchie StormTrooper and Cableguy's videos. When I was still stuck I took many many pictures and asked here and it was made crystal clear my course I needed to take.

  4. Personally, I painted all of my pieces separately, then assembled, to ensure good paint coverage in all of the gaps. I went back and scuffed up any non-visible contact surfaces before gluing though to help with the mechanical adhesion of the glue. Good luck!

  5. If you need to go wider on the back of the thighs because you need that little bit extra room, 25 - 30 is perfectly fine. The front of the limbs is where you want it as correct as possible. In saying that, no one is going to scale your photos and say "hey your cover strips are bigger than 16mm not 15mm"

  6. And tomorrow for the final Large part. The Left Forearm assembly. Fitting all the parts, gluing all the coverstrips, all the strapping remains as well as work ahead in adjustments, work on the blaster, electronics such as the Icomm and helmet fan coolers. So much ahead. And then finally applying and filing for approval in the Ohio Garrison and 501st Legion. About 20-30 pounds to lose somewhere along the way.

  7. I thought about having my wife make some on her Cricut machine, but our house is a little out of order due to us having the interior painted. I think I'll be happy with the templates, and knowing that everything is painted on. As usual, thank you @gmrhodes13for the advice.

  8. Thank you buddy. For some odd reason I was thinking 25mm for the back of the thighs.

  11. I don't know what I'd do without a dremel setup with the extension cable and finger control. Been so invaluable for trimming.

  13. Everyone has a preference, but having done both I use elastic for everything. Actually I go even further - in the beginning when it may take a few troops to get everything dialed in I make the straps a little longer than I may need and then put in knots or pins to adjust it little by little. After a half dozen troops where I'm no longer making adjustments, then I can make net new ones from scratch knowing they will be perfect. Others put in loops where they can literally adjust them on the fly. The downside of cordura/nylon is that there is no give at all, which puts more stress on the armor when you are doing something more than just standing around looking pretty.

  14. You can also make your own tube strip templates Also take note of the direction of the fall of the stripes at the front, they lean forward at the tops

  16. There is no stead fast way to finish the tops of the thighs, they can be stepped, trimmed on an angle to match, flat across the top, and even given a slight return edge if you feel like it, the coverstrip will do most of the work for appearance, personally it trimmed mine across and added a small return edge as I have skinny legs. Some references of the tops of thighs

  20. Nice work trooper a couple of things before the DO's get here: You could remove the curved area from you sniper plate Your TD gap between the end caps and panel are quite large Belt is quite wrinkled on the bottoms also appears stained You may want to adjust your biceps up a little you have no gap at the elbows and the pieces are overlapping You may have a little paint on the ower gum Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area The counter on your blaster appears a little far back, normally some scope can be seen on the rear Could you also post the following images: Close of of your ab/kidney rivets Both side outer and inside of the thigh ammo strip connectors/rivets Good luck with approval
