  2. Afternoon, So earlier this year I finally made the choice that I was gonna dress as a plastic spaceman. Four months and plenty of research/tool gathering late, my kit has arrived. So I figured the best place to start was here since this is my first kit. The only two things that I've managed to have time to do are the helmet and the gloves. My kit is from AM Armor Masters. Helmet Pictures: Inside: So, how did I do? I'd be happy to fix what I can before I dive headfirst into the rest of my kit.

  4. Thanks for the heads up on the frown! The reference I've been using makes it look as though the frown was fully painted. Shouldn't be too hard of a fix, though! I am going with ANH. It's interesting to me the slight differences between the movies though. I had no idea the teeth were painted black in ESB I forgot to mention that I had also gotten most of the painting out of the way first before I started sticking parts together all willy-nilly like, so here is the other things I managed to get done! Gloves: Chest Panels: Please note ^^ these are getting touched up soon.

  9. Mike (MTK) does sell his armour on ebay from time to time or you can deal with him direct. Ive built a couple of MTK kits and they are great. He also runs an online business called "Trooperbay" with a gamut of extras and accessories

  12. There is some visible depth from the outside when they're level like that. Here's a quick close up shot I just took, hopefully that helps!

  14. I started to work on strapping today. I bought some nylon straps and made the belt to hold up my thighs and added the suspenders to my ab/kidney armor. I was in Harbor Freight buying some EVA foam floor mats for the thicker parts of my armor, when I ran across this pair of gloves They were close enough to anthology gloves for me, plus they were only $5. My only problem with them is that the leather on the fingers and palms is matte instead of shiny. I made a lot of headway on the thighs. All I have left to do on them is fill the seams and add the smaller cover strips to the front. I'm 80% finished with my helmet. On the next warm day that comes, I'll finally get to hit it with it's first coats of gloss white. I have pretty much all the attachments for my helmet except for the lenses. I need a tinted face shield for a Mando helmet I'm working on, so I'm considering cutting the lenses out of it.

  15. MTK is the only vetted seller on EBay. If it is indeed what's delivered you'll be OK. Good Luck Future Trooper!

  16. Hey yeah the Velcro has held up just fine over the past few years. No issues whatsoever. No need to upgrade at all. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. And I was approved with it like that. I’d go with the Velcro if you have it. If you want to upgrade later, you can, but the Velcro is great because of its adjustability. I don’t plan on making any alterations to my suit. And now looking back it seams I never finished this thread... well, let’s see. I got approved, I fixed all the plates, I used a slot and tab system on the shin armor which has held up great... and in the past few years I got a TIE Pilot, Imperial Crewman and a Clone approved... Here are just a few highlights from some past troops: (Look Sir, they put my school in the painting!) Guess I gotta finish up this thread. More later. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  17. Hey Jayke - great to have you with us It will be a fun journey for sure, there´s not much more iconic than a Stormtrooper and to be able to wear the armor yourself is truly awesome. Great to hear you are aming for Centrurion and as such I would like to suggest that you check out the advanced tactics and look over the approved Centurions to see and get a feel for on how it should look https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/66-fisd-centurion-program/

  19. I'm considering making a new Anthology helmet out of EVA foam, instead of using the Black series one. Though the Black series helmet is very good, it still has a lot of inaccurate details and proportions. Here you can see the problems. Obviously the brow is too high. And the cap should extend past the face plate a little. The Black Series cap is almost in perfect line with the face plate. Resulting in it looking disproportionate from the side. Here are the changes that I will make with my new helmet: The face plate will be more inset The brow will be lower The vocoder will be made out of vacuum line hose The neck trim will all be one piece. The traps and tears will be separate from the helmet. The tube stripes will be cut into the helmet. There will be no seam between the cap and the back. The lenses will be darker. The teeth will be completely separate from the rest of the helmet. The ''chin" will have a visible seam separating it from the rest of the face plate. The Black Series Helmet is a great display piece and It will help me size the new helmet I'm going to make. But it would be very hard to make all those changes to it. Feel free to point out any other differences that I missed. Thanks!
