Well since my armor is ordered and shipped I figured I should go ahead and start my build thread. I’m doing and ANH stunt with AM 4.5 (scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday). I’m going for centurion from the start. Already have the undersuit and gloves, and I ordered the neck seal and holster from Darmans. Still need to to order the boots (getting them from IB on next wave in April) and trying to decide on making my own belt or ordering one once the upper half of the armor is done. Bucket electronics: I already have tiny microphones that will be going in the ears and ordered the speaker hovi tips from Ukswrath. I’m going to get a tiny voice amp and earbuds for the hearing aid, fans for cooling, and want to run it all on a portable cell phone battery charger. I was planning on getting a ROM/FX unit for the other voice amp, but after doing research I found out they are closed down, so now I’m looking into the icomm and Aker setup. My only issue with this is I really want everything in the bucket, making it all self contained. Work in progress (open to other options that will still give the feedback effects of the icomm or ROM/FX). Looking forward to this first build and finally making the dream come true. I’m hoping to get it done and approved by August (want to get special license plates for my car with my TK number) but if not then by Halloween. Not going to push it though, as my primary goal is getting centurion and taking my time to do it right.1 point

Thank you, yes, I was pretty lucky with not messing up the RS pieces I hear bended. Like I said, the Walt's ABS plastic is harder to manipulate. I will try what you suggested for my next piece :). Thank you so much.1 point

Thanks Dan, that's a great help. This thread is fantastic, you're all a credit to the 501st1 point

Hi Jake, Good choice with RWA. I’d suggest posting this question on the RWA Facebook page. I’m 100% sure you’ll get responses from a range of shorter and taller troopers (including photos of them in kit). Personally, I don’t think you’ll have an issue at 5’8”. I know shorter troopers that can pull it off. I know of at least 8 RWA Centurions so it’s a very achievable goal. Any questions, let me know. :-) Best wishes Dan1 point

Well, I finally got to the end of the thread! I've read the whole thing and am now unsure than before I started! I measured myself and it turns I'm shorter than I thought also so not sure if RWA is the right way to go. Can anybody advise me please? I'm 5' 8.4" and weigh 13st 5lb with 34" waist. I'm looking at RWA because of budget and the relatively short waiting list but I really don't want to get it wrong patricularly with wanting to build to Centurion standard right off the bat1 point

Everyone does this different, but this is my order: Thighs Boots Shins Body (I keep this together clamshell style and put it all on at once) Belt/detonator Shoulders/biceps Forearms Helmet Gloves Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk1 point

I'll say the same thing her as I did on the RPF... ANOVOS is, I guarantee, 537% aware customers aren't happy. I figure in addition to the letter they're going to have something to say during the panel before they open the mic to questions. I expect, intended to forestall some of the ire. I dont know if all the panels at Celebration are subject to the lottery ReedPop is doing, or just some. Folks who are going (sold my passes in disgust a month ago out of sheer underwhelm at the program and guest list that was shaping up, not to mention the fiasco of the room blocks), maybe make sure y'all can get in sooner than later. And I implore anyone who makes it in and up to the mic... Firmness is good, don't let them wriggle out with a canned answer -- but be respectful, and hold the anger back. More is likely to be gained from establishing a dialog (that has been so missing!) than throwing them on the defensive.1 point

I see they are just as reliable with distributing e-mails as they are their product. I haven't seen this "apology" in my inbox and I waited fourteen months for a TK kit, received two TK kits, and a year later was asked if I still wanted one. They have great products, in my experience, glad to hear they're finally aware of their reputation in the community with regards to pre-orders.1 point

That they were, and they still can be. Approval might just be an issue [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

Due to the many recent delays for preorders, Anovos sent this letter out to their customers and I thought it'd be interesting to share with you all today. The letter just mainly talks about how Anovos will start changing how they function in order to improve their customer service; how they will do this I do not know. Thanks for the quick reply. The only part of the kit that was preassembled was the helmet. I'm 6' 1" and about 195 lbs. The parts of the armor I've trimmed so far seem like they should work fine but obviously time will tell. I've sent two emails to The Star Garrison of Texas without any reply but I just registered on their forum and hopefully that gets me in contact with someone there. I'm also going to an event tomorrow where they are scheduled to be so hopefully I can meet some of them and get some direct feedback. That said, I appreciate yall's feedback here and am excited to keep making progress on my kit.1 point

It was such a rush, I didn't have foam today and was going to pack black socks behind sniper plate just to go to neighbors house, but at the same time, my in laws showed up from out of town. I will absolutely look into pre approval, wasn't aware that this was a thing, very interested!!!!! Thank you gmrhodes13!!!!! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk1 point

Looking good, nothing better than a BBB unpacking. TD has clips on the other side, you can make your own or find here Here is a reference of the TD I suggest staying on FISD for pieces, ebay and etsy are the best for accuracy. For hovi tips you can find here (he does without speakers too) When ever in doubt with trimming or references head to the gallery section here Good luck and looking forward to the progress.1 point

In addition to what Glen mentioned you might want to blacken the scope, a has a bit too much brass showing. Other than that it looks great1 point

Our garrison GML would definitely hold back the basic1 point

Just let everyone know. Mark from trooper bay has confirmed that the esb decals will fit the WTF helmet! These are the standard ones. I will order and confirm once I get them in hand. I hope this helps others out going down the same path1 point

Not in a position to start test-fitting everything so I'm picking at peripheral tasks that'll pay off in the end. Cut out and painted the ab panels, and just laid them here on the ab for size. I'd first attempted to size according to the Billgrams thread diagrams, but discovered those sizings don't work for RWA, so I trimmed and trimmed until they looked right in comparison to screen ref and the pics in Dan's thread.1 point

Congrats! Double-check the leg armor with sniper knee plate on your next troop. Is it worn on the correct leg?1 point

Whew what a weeks it’s been. BBB came in Tuesday. So I spent the evening on Tuesday getting started on the helmet (although I miss aligned the right side of the face slightly, which caused the right ear not to line up) and luckily only using screws instead of rivets. I spent my free time on Wednesday doing more research and looking over it, and made more of a plan. Thursday’s time was more cautious. I disassembled the whole helmet, added plastidip and did the paint on the frown and vocoder. I decided to brush on the plastidip as I’m afraid of the overspray with the spray version, and I did have a little clean up to do after, but it peeled right off after using an exacto knife to cut out the area I was removing from the edges. Overall a pretty good day, plan on putting it back together tomorrow (slower this time) and get it all lined up better.1 point
